tired!
Friday. 11.2.07 4:17 pm
It's 4:17pm. I've been awake for about 13 hours. I worked for 6 hours today. I am tired.

I've stayed up for way longer than 13 hours straight before, even with most of that time taken over with work, but the fact that I only got about 3 hours of sleep before I went in to work probably has something to do with my being tired. It's not my fault though! Well ... yeah, okay, it is a little my fault for not going to bed sooner, but I couldn't help it. I'm not used to going to bed before midnight.

Even when I was living in Tucson, I wasn't going to bed until after midnight. I didn't have to get up until 8 or 9am instead of 3am, but still.

I'm sort of getting used to waking up at that hour. Since I'm not showering till after I get off work, I don't have to get up until about 45 minutes before I need to be there. 3am is still way too early, but it's a job. And going in to work that early means that I don't have to worry about the general public until the last hour or so of my shift.

It's a fairly easy job, just a lot to remember. I hate having to do truck, but everyone does. It's time consuming, dirty, hot, frustrating and just very annoying. I hope I don't have to do it very often.

I still don't have any friends, but I get along with the people I work with. Only two people are a little creepy, but I don't work with them often.

On another note, my three year anniversary on Nutang is approaching. It's in the middle of next month. I'll be posting about it on the actual day.

Uhhhhm, I think that's it. My brain is not functioning to it's full capacity so I this is the end of today's entry.

regulation and phenomenon
Thursday. 11.1.07 12:39 pm
I have a feeling that going in to work at 4am is going to become my regular schedule. The time I leave varies depending on the day, but it's always a specific time regardless if my assigned work has been finished or not. I don't like leaving my work for someone else to do so I do my best to get it finished before I have to leave. I actually {besides waking up really effing early} prefer to go in that early because I don't have to deal with the public. I only deal with the people who are working the same shift as me. And once I wake up, I'm good to go.

Anywho, last night's Phenomenon was funny. Some of the illusions that people created were "edge of your seat" illusions, but others were just entertaining. Only one person was incredibly dumb and even dumber if he really did think that his "illusion" would be believable. And to the people who did believe him, you're even dumber than he is for being to gullible. At the end of his performance, Criss Angel called him out on it. He told him that if he really did have psychic abilities he would give him $1,000,000 of his own personal money if he could guess what he had in the envelope. That became a fight and it was just so funny! Criss has pretended to be possessed and knows it's not real. Which is why he called the guy out.

The only female on the show did something that Criss Angel has performed where she hides a knife under one of 5 hollowed out paper cylinders and has someone randomly rearrage them while she isn't looking. Then she uses her abilities to feel which one she shouldn't slam her hand down on. Criss commeneded her for being the only female mentalist on the show and coming forth to show that it's not just a guy's world; "the days of a woman in a leotard being shoved into a box are over."

The last performer on the show was just funny. He said that he predicted a fictional murder a month ago and wrote it down on a scroll. Then he picked three random people out of the audience along with one of the three guest celebritites to pick four different things. The way that the people chose it was like a funny version of Clue. It was Tom Hanks with the dresser in Hawaii. The added thing was the time {3:13} which, under a black light, was stamped onto everyone's hands in the audience. It was definitely entertaining. Altogether this week's show was better than last week. I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

Alright, I think that's it for now. I'll write again whenever.

I'm still unsure
Tuesday. 10.30.07 12:58 pm
I'm still not sure about my job; whether I like it or not. Then again, I've only worked three shifts.

Today was different because I worked a full 8 hour shift and I'm working on only 3 hours of sleep. Not entirely my fault though. I didn't get up till noon yesterday so last night I wasn't tired. But I made myself sleep at midnight so that I'd at least get some sleep before I went in to work.

I have to go back in tomorrow at 5am. So I'll be getting 4 hours of sleep. Ha, that'll be nice. 7 hours of sleep in a 48 hour period, including two working shifts. I'm going to be dead by Thursday.

Later this afternoon ma, Lori and I will be going out shopping. It would be just Lori and I, but I still don't have my license. Speaking of which, I'm going to reschedule my road test {for the second time} because ma just got the car and still has temp tags on it. She still needs to register it. So hopefully by the New Year I'll be able to drive on my own, legally.

Anywho, back to the shopping. Lori is in despirate need of clothes for school and I am in despirate need of just clothes in general. So we're going to be stopping at Target, Wal-Mart and Payless. Lori needs shoes for her choir concerts and I need socks; that's why we're stopping at Payless.

Alright, I'm gonna lay down for a bit ... dream of Criss. I'll write maybe tomorrow.

blah
Sunday. 10.28.07 8:28 pm
I need to keep my thoughts under control. I want to think about Criss all the time, but I don't know when I'll get back to the Luxor, nor do I think I'll get as lucky next time. But the fact that I still saw him up close and personal and that we exchanged, though few, words has gotten me so love-struck.

Anywho, ma and I played bingo tonight. If we had won a game we would have gotten a free Halloween dobber set. Notice the "if." I would have loved to win money, but I was basically there to win the set. I didn't and I'm okay with that. I wanted to win; I wasn't expecting to so not winning wasn't a let down.

This job is going to screw up my sleep patterns. They had me go in at 4am this morning and I'm going in again at 4am on Tuesday. I was originally hired to train on cashier, but now they're thinking of just keeping me in stock. Which I guess I'm alright with. I don't have to work with the constant customer flow and with me working before we open I'll have that time where I'm alone, aside from the others who are working with me. I'm still unsure about how I feel about the job.

I don't think I'll get friends working at this place. Most of the people I'm working with are much older than I am. Some of them have kids older than me. But if I have money, I'll be able to go out more often and maybe I'll meet people that way. I'm not in any rush though. I know it's not a very good way to think, but it's hard enough to keep a friendship after a move so I'm not sure if I want close friends out here. I've lost enough friends due to moving, I don't need to lose any more. Who knows.

My road test is Thursday. I have three days to get some drive time in the "new" car. I'm not sure how I'll do. I don't really like the car, but it's the one we have so it'll have to do. I guess I'll see how it goes.

Alright, I think that's it for tonight. I'll write again whenever.

yesterday
Saturday. 10.27.07 1:21 pm
I got about 4 hours of sleep the night before last. I woke up at 8, went to the interview at 9 and 20 minutes later, had the job. It's only seasonal, but it'll be a check.

After we left, we headed way out to the far side of town {about an hour drive away} to pick up ma's settlement check. Then we came back and cashed the check. We left the bank and headed out to the Texas so that ma could pick up her free gift.

Then we came home and I slept for about an hour, took a shower and the three of us headed out around 6.

We parked at Caesar's Palace, but only because I miscalculated the distance between there and the Luxor. We wandered the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace for a bit, then headed out on the over-a-mile long treck to the Luxor.

I wanted to go see Criss Angel's store there ... and I got the surprise of my life. He was there, live, in person, filming!!! Oh my god, I was ecstatic! I didn't get a picture with him; there were too many people around him. I did get a couple pictures of him in his production office though. They're not very good because there was people all around me and all around him. But OMG!!!

When I was done fawning, I headed out. All of a sudden, I realize that he's walking right behind me!!! So I get up the courage, appologize for interrupting the conversation he was in and told him that I admire his work, or that he's inspirational {I can't remember exactly what I said.} But he smiled at me and said, "thank you so much. I really appreciate it." He talked to me! Gah!!! I was already a big fan, but now I can say that I've met and talked to a celebrity. And he's sooooo attractive. Man. The image in my head will never go away.

That was the highlight of my night. He's amazing. The encounter was amazing.

By the time we got home, my legs and feet were killing me. I hadn't walked that far in a long time. But seeing and talking to Criss made the whole night wonderful. I'm even more in love with him than I was before. And now I know what tattoo I'm getting on the back of my leg.

Alright, here's pictures:
I hate camera phones. Criss is in the middle:
You can't really see him, but he's the one with the hat on:
This obviously isn't him; it's the door of a lambo:
This is the front of the lambo. It was hand painted by Lassen:

We also watched the Bellagio fountain through one song and we stopped by a store in the Forum Shops so that Lori could say hi to a friend.

I started work today. I was hired for cashier, but didn't even go near the registers. It was too busy and they didn't have anyone to train me. I'll probably start learning on either Monday or Tuesday.

I have other stuff to write about, but I just don't feel like it right now. Maybe later. Besides, this entry is long enough. I did warn you though.

yay! real quick...
Friday. 10.26.07 9:19 am
I got a job!!! Finally. I start tomorrow at 9am. It's only a seasonal position, so even though I'll be getting paid the same as I was when I left the restaurant, I'll be working only half the hours.

But it's still a job. And if I prove good enough, they'll look for a more permanent position.

More to come later.
