Despite how much you mentally prepare yourself for working a 16 hour shift, you still cannot avoid the soreness and achy feeling that overcomes your body after being on your feet for that long. It feels so good to be out of my uniform and off my feet now.

I'll be working another 8 hours tomorrow, but that's it. It's my day off so the shift I picked up will be just that, not tacked on to the end of my other shift.

The day was fairly uneventful. Nothing worth writing about.

It's supposed to be near 90 by Monday. Ugh. At least the temps aren't going to be in the triple digits like back in Vegas. It'll actually be over 110 so they've issued an excessive heat warning. Funny that it has to be 110 or hotter for that to even happen. I don't miss that at all. What I do miss, however, is air conditioning. The 90 degree temps that Seattle gets for a week out of the year wouldn't nearly be as bad with air conditioning.

Alright, I need to get some sleep. I'm not quite that tired yet, but it's only a matter of time. I'm sure I'll be fighting my eye lids sometime in the next 20 minutes.

Until tomorrow. . .

Evening cool down
Wednesday. 6.26.13 9:05 pm
What I love most about when the sun goes down, other than the fact that it gets dark, is that it *almost instantly* gets cooler. Within a matter of a couple hours it's already a few degrees, if not more, cooler. When there's a nice breeze, it definitely helps that cool down process occur much quicker.

Today was the uneventful day that I hope for. Tomorrow will probably be busy because I'll be there for 16 hours. It's technically my Friday, but I've picked up an overtime shift on Friday as well, but I'll at least be able to sleep in. Sleeping in on my days off is all I want. If nothing else happens on those days, sleeping is the best thing that can happen.

The last thing I had to eat was a chicken & veggie wrap with a roasted red pepper soup as a sauce along with a chocolate chocolate chip muffin. That was around 1pm. It is now just after 9 and I'm starting to get hungry again. Go figure. I won't be eating anything else tonight because I'm actually about to go to bed soon and eating now would be bad. The wrap was just so filling that I didn't feel like I could even eat another bite of anything. Even drinking water was over filling. The wrap was amazing. I really shouldn't, but with me working 16 hours tomorrow, I'll need something to eat so, of course, I'll go back to the same place and get something *hopefully* just as tasty.

Nothing else really to write about for today. Tomorrow's entry will be short, or from work, depending on when I am able to type it up.

Until then. . .

One happy gal
Tuesday. 6.25.13 5:37 pm
Hi Dad. Thanks for the weather. It's spectacular.

I fell asleep last night sometime between 7:30 and 8. I slept straight until 1, woke up long enough to see what time it was then turn over and sleep until almost 4. I dozed off again until my alarm went off at 5. I really wasn't feeling well yesterday.

It was a little drizzly this morning when I got to work, but nothing major. Enough to leave little droplets on my glasses; enough to get on my nerves. About an hour later it started to rain. About 15 minutes later it started to pour. I loved it. The rain did eventually slow and come to a stop, with the sun making itself known later on, but it was as nice start to the morning.

Work wasn't too bad. It was about as busy as I was expecting it to be. Nothing really worthy of writing about.

After work, I went interval jogging with Jake. We only went on a single run because I wasn't sure how I would feel after yesterday's cramping. I didn't want to push it too much. The jog felt good. With a 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down, we covered about 2 miles.

About half an hour ago, it suddenly got dark; the sun had been out and shining bright when we went jogging. I looked outside and could see some pretty dark clouds moving in from the south. About 10 minutes later, a clap of thunder and some pretty strong winds. The storm moved in quickly. There was lightning to accompany the thunder; the two times a year we actually have air unstable enough to create thunder and lightning. The pouring rain followed and now it's kind of evened out to what a normal Seattle summer rain is like. There's still a bit of a breeze, but nothing like the wind when the storm came in.

It's a shame this won't last more than tonight. It's supposed to be in the 80s this weekend. For the people going to the Pride activities this weekend, that'll be great. For those who will probably be in the house trying to stay away from getting a sun burn, not so great. I may actually buy that fan I was talking about. Heh, it'll give me a reason to use the A/C in my car.

Anywho, I think that's it for today. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Until then. . .

False promises
Monday. 6.24.13 5:50 pm
I didn't go jogging today. The day isn't over, but I'm exhausted, still sore from a couple days ago and I've already eaten. It's a lot easier to go for a jog on an empty stomach. I risk throwing up if I go jogging now.

I plan on going to bed early tonight. I didn't nap today and I went out right after work, which is probably why I'm so tired. I'll give it another hour or so before calling it a night. The plan is to be in bed before 9, hopefully sometime around 8. It would be a lot easier if the sun was still behind the clouds, but alas, it has made itself known.

I finished 12th of Never. There will be a 13th book, but I'm not sure when it'll be out. The way the 12th book ended, there's no way there won't be a 13th. Now I have to find something else to read in the meantime.

I was hoping that maybe I would be lucky enough to not have to deal with a lot of spotting, since it's been about a week and a half and nothing has happened ... until earlier today. I hope it's just mild spotting, but who knows. I guess I'll just keep track of it and see how long it lasts.

Tomorrow is my Wednesday. Tuesday is usually the busiest day of the week. It's also the only day where I don't like the patrol schedule. It's different from when I usually take my breaks so I won't be eating for my shift, which means that I'll be able to go jogging right afterward. The plan is to run a double since I didn't keep up with the plan for going today. Essentially, it'll be a punishment for myself. Which is fine. Jogging and being sore afterward is enough of a reminder that I need to keep up with my end of the bargain.

Alright, I think I'm actually going to lay down now. I'm getting kind of crampy. If I fall asleep then so be it. I'll just fall back asleep until the morning when my alarm goes off. Hopefully I'll keep good with my self made promise.

Until then. . .

Kinda sore
Sunday. 6.23.13 7:15 pm
My legs are a bit sore today from the jog yesterday. Hopefully they'll be better in time for when I go jogging tomorrow. I'll still go even if they're still sore, but I'd rather them not be.

Work was uneventful; exactly how a Sunday should be. Hopefully tomorrow will be just the same.

I've gotten in to buying more things at Trader Joe's over the past few days. . . it's dangerous because most everything that I've bought so far has been good. And the prices are considerably reasonable. I bought a few more bags of frozen gnocchi, one each for the next few days. Thursday I'll kind of be on my own with food, but that's okay. It's only one day before payday so even if I don't eat anything, I'll be able to go grocery shopping the next day.

It's been overcast and rainy today, but it's been muggy. It almost feels like I'm in Florida again. However, I would rather it be like this because at least then it's not too warm in my room. This weekend is supposed to be in the 80s. Fuck, I may have to buy that fan that I've been putting off buying.

Anywho, I think that's all I have for now.

Until tomorrow. . .

Third time's the charm?
Saturday. 6.22.13 7:10 pm
I went for a quick jog today. A little less than a mile and a half. Having the correct shoes make a big difference. I felt more comfortable while jogging. I'll be going out again Monday and Tuesday after work so that should be good. I need to keep this up this time, but we'll see what happens. I said that the last time too.

Other than laundry and going for a jog, nothing of significance happened today. Someone is outside using some kind of generator {like for carpet cleaning or power washing} and it's starting to piss me off, but if I close my windows, it'll get too hot in here. It's already 78 in my room. The fan is helping some, but not enough.

I need to get my hair cut at some point soon. Especially if I'm going to start jogging on a regular basis. It's just too long for this kind of heat. It's kind of too long in general, but more so if I'm going to be exercising on a regular basis during the summer. Perhaps the next check that I receive with overtime . . . or whenever I just can't take it anymore. Whichever comes first. I already know where I want to go and I'll be getting it cut for donation again so it's just a matter of getting it done.

Anywho, I'm going to continue reading while I still have the daylight. as much as I prefer overcast, cloudy, rainy days, the sunlight is good for some things.

Until tomorrow. . .
