I knew it was too good to be true. Everyone around me has had some kind of cold, but I remained safe ... until now. I woke up with a sore throat this morning and it has only gotten worse as the day has continued on. I keep feeling like there's a dry spot in my throat and it's making me tear up, almost like I'm choking. It's going to make sleeping tonight rather uncomfortable.
Also, my heater broke. Again. I'm prepared tonight, however, because I'm already wearing my rubber duckie onesie that I bought a year ago for a party. It's keeping me warm for now. I have an extra blanket that I bought recently for another party and I also have fuzzy socks and some longer sleep pants to wear instead of shorts. I let the property manager know as soon as I discovered the heater wasn't working and she said the earliest they can come out to fix it is tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully this shit gets taken care of a lot faster than the last time, when I had to wait just over a week before it was fixed. Looks like I'll be taking a lot of hot showers until I have working heat again.
I guess if I have to be sick and shit has to break, it's good that it's happening now instead of right before I leave for my trip. I'd rather be sick here and get over it than be sick while I'm there and not be able to enjoy anything. Hopefully this is just a sore throat and it passes within a couple days.
Depending on how I'm feeling, I may just end up spending the day indoors just relaxing and hydrating. I was supposed to hang out with a friend in the afternoon, but that may not happen now. I guess we'll see what happens.
Until tomorrow. . .

I'm half tempted to put off buying a suitcase until Black Friday, but that would be cutting it really close to my trip. I'll be checking out Marshall's tomorrow. I stopped at the TJMaxx today and didn't see anything that I liked. Most of what they had was too big for what I want anyway.
There was frost on my windshield when I left work tonight so that means that there will probably be frost on my windows in the morning which means I'll have to leave my house a little earlier than normal. I'm really going to try to motivate myself to get up early in the morning to take a shower and wash my hair since I'm too tired to deal with it tonight. Hopefully that will get me up earlier so that I can leave earlier. We'll see what happens.
Until then. . .

It took me a whole minute to figure out what to title the entry and that's all I came up with. That's pretty much all that's there right now. My mind just wants to go blank, but I have to get through two more days before that can happen.
Work was busier today and didn't feel like it was dragging on forever. I like the days that stay steady enough to pass the time, but not so busy that I feel rushed through everything. Hopefully the next two days are that way as well.
I really don't have much to put for today. My mind really is drawing a blank. I need to get some sleep.
Until tomorrow. . .
T minus 14 days
Monday. 11.18.13 9:50 pm
I have two more weeks left until I will be ensuring that my final preparations before my trip are complete. Two more weeks. It's so close now I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. The level of excitement is only clouded by the level of exhaustion that I'm currently experiencing.
For the first time since starting my job at Sam's, it actually felt super slow. Normally I'm thankful for the slower days, but there's always just enough business to pass the time in a sufficient manor. Tonight time seemed to have stood still. There were never more than 2 people in my line and there were gaps in between them that seemed to occur less than every half an hour. I also didn't get any sales done tonight so that kind of made it more discouraging. Oh well. There's always tomorrow.
Until then. . .
Another long stretch
Sunday. 11.17.13 6:37 pm
Only four more days left in this 13 day stretch of working. I know I chose to work the extra day, but it still sucks having to wake up to an alarm before 6am for more than 5 days in a row. 6 is pushing it. Tomorrow will be day 10.
I'm going to start calling Sundays 'Standby Sunday' because of how often we get standbys on Sunday. The one from today makes 94 for the year, including the handful of ones from other buildings. I would say probably 80+ of the 94 are psych patients. It's become a serious problem with mental illness and not having the appropriate boarding and staff to facilitate them all. So they get stuck in a place that doesn't have the proper care for them until they can be shipped off to another place that does and get held there even longer. It's not fair for anyone, really, but that's just the way it is right now and there's nothing we can do about it.
Hopefully tomorrow goes by smoother than today did. It probably won't since it's Monday and that almost never goes by without a hitch. I guess we'll see what happens. I also have both jobs again tomorrow and the second one will probably be annoying as well. Hopefully not, but again, there always seems to be something that keeps it from being a perfectly calm work day.
Until then. . .
Saturday. 11.16.13 6:16 pm
I have tried 3 times now to buy a pair of nice, comfortable, not-too-tight leggings and have always seemed to end up buying tights. Well, this time I'm not going to return them so I'm just going to be stuck with tights. They're not super uncomfortable, but I wanted leggings so they're not the comfort level that I was looking for. I'm essentially giving up until I have a second pair of eyes with me and can save me from myself.
I'm going to be crashing early tonight, for sure. I may be in bed before 9. As soon as my laundry is done, I'll be calling it a night. I didn't sleep very well last night and since I have to be at work tomorrow morning, I'm going to take advantage and sleep early tonight.
I stopped at the mall on my way home because I needed new jeans and I know that JC Penny has Arizona brand jeans, which are really comfy. I lucked out on that particular trip because they were on sale so I was able to buy two and still stay under my budget for jeans. So that kind of made up for the fact that I bought not-leggings. I'm already kind of excited to wear them.
While I was at the mall, I considered going to Target to get some new razor cartridges because I'm in desperate need of new ones, but I figured this was a good time to try out the Venus Embrace that I got as a gift years ago and never opened. The blades on that one will last me at least until the end of the month so I'll just wait on buying new cartridges.
Alright, time to put my jacket in the dryer for the last 20 minutes. I'll be watching the two shows that I have in my queue on Hulu and then calling it a night. Hopefully tomorrow goes buy about as well as today did.
Until then. . .
