Tuesday. 7.23.13 7:34 pm
Tuesday's are always the busiest days for me. I have no idea why. Luckily the one report we had wasn't mine.
It's hot outside again. It was really nice the last week or so with the temperatures staying below 80 or just dipping in to the 80s. It's now back up near 90 and it's only slightly cooler inside. Ugh.
My tire pressure light came on yesterday morning and it didn't go off when I put air in my tires ... until when I was on my way to Discount Tire this afternoon to have the one that was significantly lower than the others checked for a small leak. Of course. Luckily I hadn't gotten very far because I offered to drop a coworker off at home first. As soon as I turned on to a different street to head up north, the light went off so I more or less took the long way home. I'm, of course, going to keep my eye on it until at least payday. Then I know I can afford if there's a problem. Hopefully it keeps itself in check until at least then.
Two more days of work to get through before the weekend. I am ready for this week to be over.
Until tomorrow. . .
Monday. 7.22.13 7:43 pm
I know this is going to bite me in the ass tomorrow, but it happened and I have to deal with it. I laid down for a quick nap around quarter till 5 and set my alarm for 6 so that I would get up after only a short period of time so that I could still be tired enough to sleep by 11. Well, I pretty much told my alarm to fuck off and I slept until just after 7.
I'm going to be very tired tomorrow if I can't get back to sleep tonight.
Today was one of those days that made me want to quit my job on the spot. The funniest part of the day was actually an accident that we had to fill out reports for because there were witnesses. Basically a taller rolling chair snapped in two and in my attempt at keeping the person in it from falling, we ended up both getting some kind of minor injury. Nothing serious enough to need to report it or get seen by a doctor, but because there were other employees that witnessed the incident, we had to fill out accident reports. It's the second time something has happened to me at work, but the first time I've had to fill out any paperwork. No one saw me slip and fall on the stairs so I didn't report it.
On top of sleeping way too long, I'm getting so many random food cravings right straight back to back. It has gone from chicken nuggets to chicken wings to pizza to breakfast sandwiches to cakes and cookies back to pasta and more chicken and pizza. I have no idea why I'm craving so many different foods all at one time. I'm actually tempted to go brush my teeth just so that I don't give in and eat anything. It's kind of too late to eat anything at this point otherwise I really will have trouble sleeping tonight.
Payday is Friday and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to rearrange the bills. This is supposed to be the rent check, but there's other things that need to be paid and I could probably put off paying the second part of my rent until I get paid again. I'll just have to pay a late fee, which is fine since it's only $20. This is that weird time of year where the paychecks inch toward the beginning of the month and are just in the wrong dates for things to get paid at the right time. They're either paid way early or just a tad late. At this point I'm aiming for achieving both. We'll see what happens.
Alright, I'm actually gonna go brush my teeth and try to make sure I'm tired enough to fall asleep before 11. I'm really not sure how well that's going to happen, but we'll see. Tomorrow is either going to be a really long day or a really, really long day.
Until then. . .
So that's what it's like
Sunday. 7.21.13 7:55 pm
Oh man, the plan for yesterday worked ... for the most part. I was up at 7:30a to get my laundry done, went to my friend's place and hung out for a while before working the swing shift that I swapped for with a coworker. By around 8p I was starting to get pretty tired, but I had to push through until 10. I got home around 10:30 and was asleep shortly before midnight. I slept straight through until my alarm went off at 4:45 this morning. I woke up pretty confused as to why it was already going off, but then I realized that I had slept for 5 straight hours. That's definitely something that doesn't happen often.
It may or may not have to do with the fact that I tend to nap when I get home from work. . .
Either way, I probably could have gone back to sleep for another couple hours, but duty calls. And the bills don't exactly pay themselves. How fantastic would that be if they did?
Thanks to a coworker I will be going in for an impromptu interview for a part time job on Wednesday after work. Which, unfortunately, means that I'll have to push back the plans that I had for that time, but hopefully my friend will understand. I really could use this part time job. I'm doing horribly again on saving up money. I'm actually half tempted to just open a second account so that I can just have the second income go there rather than being able to easily access it with my main account. I have to get the job first before I get too far ahead of myself. We'll see how Wednesday goes.
The past few mornings have been cool and overcast, which is nice because it means that by the time the sun burns through, it doesn't warm up too much. Today is the first time in probably a week that I've turned on my fan. It warms up about 20 degrees by the end of the day and as long as it stays under 80 or just at 80, it's nice. Anything over 80 is definitely pushing it.
Alright, I need to shower before it gets too late. My hair does still take a couple hours to dry despite the fact that I had more than a foot cut off.
Until tomorrow. . .
Early morning fog
Saturday. 7.20.13 8:19 am
It's cool and foggy outside. Just how I like it. The sun will probably burn through it later and ruin it all, but that's kind of to be expected. I can enjoy it while it's there.
I don't think this is the earliest I've ever written an entry, but I could be wrong. I'll have to go back and check at some point.
The reason for writing this early is because I have a busy day ahead of me and I don't want to forget to write something when I get home tonight after work. My laundry is in now; an advantage when you actually get up early enough in the morning is that you're usually the first one to get to the washer/dryer. After my laundry is done, I'll be heading over to a friend's house for a couple hours. We originally planned to hang out for most of the day, but when my coworker wanted to swap shifts, I cut the plans short. I didn't want to completely cancel them because it's been a while since we've hung out, but I also wanted to be able to help out my coworker so we worked it out.
I'll be leaving her place around 1 in case there's traffic. I have serious doubts since today is Saturday, but I know that if I push it there will probably be some kind of crazy accident or something and I'll be really late to work. I'm the type of person who feels that 5 minutes early is too late. It's probably a good thing.
So I guess today won't be too busy, but I won't be home much. I'm hoping that with me being up and out of the house all day, I'll be tired enough when I get home tonight that I can go to bed right away and get enough sleep for work tomorrow morning. I guess we'll have to see.
Until tomorrow. . .
Lazy day off
Friday. 7.19.13 7:41 pm
I've started this entry twice and deleted what I had both times. The title has even changed once.
I spent the day doing nothing. I made myself some couscous and tomato sauce around noon-ish. The last two peppers I had were already starting to go bad, although I have had them for about a week now so it was just the couscous, sauce and the rest of the cheese I had. The next time it'll just be couscous and sauce. It tastes fine, just kind of plain.
I'm not sure if I'm still hungry or if it's just because my brain is telling me that I want food. I'm being rather picky, though. I have other kinds of food in my kitchen besides couscous, but it's all unhealthy food. Although, the take out craving I'm having for Chinese food is far from healthy so I have no idea why I'm so turned off by the food I have in my kitchen. Perhaps the craving is overpowering the desire for anything else. I can't afford to buy Chinese, however, otherwise I would.
It started out pretty cool this morning, but the temperatures rose pretty quickly once the sun burned off the clouds. I've decided not to buy another fan, unless the one I have breaks. It won't be getting hot enough here often enough to where I'll need a second fan so I'll just deal with the heat waves as they come.
The rest of tonight will be spent just browsing the net, watching YouTube videos and attempting to get to bed at a fairly reasonable hour so that I'll have energy to get through the long day tomorrow. We'll see how well that goes.
Until then. . .
Thursday. 7.18.13 9:01 pm
The kitchen staff called in to have security pick up their lost and found items from them today. It was like shopping at a fucking yard sale. 129 single items, 88 of which were just pieces of silverware. There were so many spoons! I was told that it was 'several months' worth. I didn't have to log every individual item, but rather in bulk. It would have taken me ages to log 129 items. All of these things have been long since forgotten by their owners so in 90 days they will be shipped off to charity.
Why do I get all the weird shit?
I'm glad that I'm off tomorrow, however, I have no idea what I'll be doing. I'm broke, again, and there's really nothing to watch on the net now that I'm caught up with everything. I suppose I could find something to binge watch on Netflix, but we'll see. Saturday will be busy, though. Hopefully it'll be busy enough that when I get home from work I'll be tired enough to go right to sleep for my normal shift Sunday morning.
I didn't mean to be writing this so late. Usually I'm pretty good about getting it done around 7ish, but I think I was watching Master Chef at that point so I just lost track of time. I'm still within the time constraints of today, so it's not a miss. Just a late one.
Until tomorrow. . .
