A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence
"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"
"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation
"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita
“It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.”
~ William Blake

I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium today. Usually I enjoy going there but today... there were just WAY too many people. It was horribly noisy and there was this.... stench... like some sort of crowd odor. It was pretty gross.
I'll put up some pictures later.
Man... I love this comic.

I just bought two remixes of that song. AWESOMENESS! :D
Some people hate techno for the repetitiveness of it all. I love it for exactly that reason. :P
Practicing self photography again. I think I've gotten worse. :/
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
But not if the subject is murder.
Usually I hate word play but well...

I'm not really that into group projects. I'm (yeah, I admit it...) one of those people who actually likes it when everybody else does the work. I mean, I'll do my part, I just like it when people don't bother me about stuff.
There's this guy in my current group who's like a total mess. He freaks out about projects.... and totally blames it on the group. I had him in my group before and he was horrible. He yelled at me for not doing anything and dumped the responsibility of making a costume on me even though I told him I couldn't do it. Now he's in my group again, and he's getting angry again and it's the whole thing all over again. Only with different group members. Thankfully the teacher approved my request to move after the project was done.
I'm watching Monkeybone on Comedy Central... I've never seen it before and it's pretty interesting. The doctors are really funny. "WAIT!!! CATCH THAT DEAD MAN!!!" Ha.... well I guess you have to see it to understand that.
I'm guessing this is a children's book...
Note to self: Stay away from this book.
Oh yeah and I almost forgot. Today during P.E. I was trying to do chinups (yes, TRYING... but I managed two) and I kinda fell off.
Okay, that's one...
Tried to reach the bench below, it wasn't under the bar, and I wasn't tall enough to reach it or the ground...
So I fell on the bench.
I'm kidding about the blood though. I didn't bleed. I just bruised my hips and ribs. You'd think it would've been my stomach, but no....

I don't know why but I like this picture a lot.
Yeah, it's dark...

Insanity and dipoles
Tuesday, January 9, 2007
I think I went a little insane today. And I don't mean that I did something crazy, I mean I think I actually lost a little bit of my sanity. I just cracked up in Chem over the weirdest things....
We were talking about dipoles and I thought "dipstick... dip pole... dipole... hahaha...." and then the phone rang and Doc Rock went to pick it up (nickname for the teacher... has nothing to do with his personality) and some person named Fran wanted to see the guy who sits behind me at lunch....
I thought of Austin Powers for some reason... but isn't that woman's name like... "Frau" or something? Anyway, I thought of that then I whispered "Fran von Wienerschnitzel" to my friend Alice and started giggling. She just gave me this weird look like "what the HELL is wrong with you?"
Maybe I'll be better tomorrow if I get enough sleep.

Dearest H20 (the essence of my life),
... Without you, my heart is as cold as liquid nitrogen. I'm as alone as a single hydrogen molecule. My love for you is as stable and unnerving as the octet of a noble gas. I am chlorine, and you are my sodium! Like the protons of an atom, I will never leave you. My heart is like lead when you're not around, but as soon as I see you it grows as light as helium. Your beauty is as radiant as neon, and you make me glow inside like phosphorus in water. Your skin is as lovely as burning potassium, your eyes shine like zirconium, and your lips are the color of lithium aflame. Like water and francium, your love blows me away.
