You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Spider? SPIDERRRRR!!!!
Friday, August 17, 2007
Aw, only two comments on my last entry. :(

AND I THOUGHT YOU CARED! :'(

Nah, I don't really mind. :P I know you have better things to do than write faked notes of sympathy for an e-stranger.

Though I did find ranor's comment amusing.

Plane tomorrow. Finally. I can't say this has been one of the... better trips I've been on. Hasn't been truly horrible, but it's kind of lukewarm on the fun thermometer.

Over three hundred pictures. :0

I know, I'm shocked too. Didn't expect this. I'll probably have to put them under password again, to spare those with slow computers the agony of waiting to see other posts. I trust you know the two passwords by now. I'll let you know which one I'm using, though I think the second one won't be needed but once. Unless I suddenly get bitten by the camera whore bug.

(Now I feel silly calling my Hawaii pictures a picture explosion)

I may have to just link some of the pictures so you can see the details... dunno just yet.

I got this.

And I almost forgot. The title, I mean. The last last place we stayed at was infested with the horrible things. I thought I was going to scream when I saw them. [Imagine me shivering if you can... those stern glaring pictures probably won't help you much. :P]

Watching Strange Felony Files. Fascinating stuff. [If you have any interest in unusual murders I totally recommend it]

Seven Days
Saturday, August 11, 2007
I watched The Ring and now I'm going to die in seven days.

Just kidding. :P

I think we should be home by the eighteenth. Yay for me. :D

Still in Maine. Tried this pizza place called Pat's Pizza.

It's so awesome.... If we had one of them back in California I'd SO have my birthday party [food portion] there. If you ever come to Maine you HAVE TO try this place. I think they have locations all over this state. And one in Florida.

Raspberry Lime Rickey soda = new favorite soft drink

Seriously.

But enough frantic advertising.

I hope I don't end up with three hundred pictures. :S In Hawaii it was set to 3.1 megapixels, but it's back at 1.8 right now so I have more space.... which means more room for more pictures.... and I've already taken some hundred and fifty. :0

The bike tour is over, by the way.

Oh yeah and there were all these shirts in the touristy part of town that said something like "Drinking, Fighting, Flogging, Wenching... These are a few of my favorite things". There was also an alternative one that had the ending "Oh, a pirate's life for me!"

I dunno what it was with Bar Harbor and pirates. Never heard of any famous ones living/landing there.

Got to go pack up now. I'll post again when I can.
