You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Iowa? What?
Friday, February 6, 2009
How do you get Los Angeles from Iowa? I really don't understand.

So apparently these guys in my house are from IOWA, not LOS ANGELES. Wow. And here I was wondering why the hell they got in at 1 AM last night when a flight from here to LA runs about an hour.

Jeez, man.

It rained today. It will probably rain more. Goodbye fake Spring, hello Winter. I'm kind of relieved, but not much, that it's raining. We'll need a LOT more rain to stay out of a drought...

I'm thinking about adding Tales of Pylea to my ever-growing list of webcomics. It's a really well drawn comic, and the storyline is good too. Not something for people only interested in humor, but whatever.

Ah, damn, caught a spelling error. Oh well. It's pretty near perfect.

....Another error. They're pretty rare compared to a lot of other comics I could mention, at least.

Wow, it's like I jinxed it or something. All of a sudden I'm finding problems with the text. Bleh.

I might start having dairy again tomorrow, in small amounts. I gotta say, it's not bad going without. At least I don't overeat...

Mm, I'm going to go back to reading now...

We went shopping.

Here is a picture of a sign.

I got new shoes for New York.

So these are kind of my most ghetto shoes because of the faux fur.

And these are my other new shoes. We count them as a "lifetime investment" because they were ridiculously overpriced. ($104)

(And that was the sale price, too....)

Gotta break 'em in.

Writing essay. I hate essays. Bleh. Romeo was bleeding earlier. his flight feathers got torn out somehow. It makes me sad. :'( He's okay though I think. (I hope)

I don't want him to die!

But I'm watching shows on the Adult Swim website instead.

There's not a lot to eat around here that doesn't have dairy in it. I wasn't sure what to eat for breakfast so I had a smoothie... (peach nectar and frozen strawberries-- it gave me major brainfreeze at first)

If I don't feel any different by Friday I might start having dairy again. If I can get past the pus thing. Right now it's still making me a little sick.

We watched the last bit of Kenneth Branagh's version of Frankenstein in Lit. It was um, kind of horrible. There's this one part where the monster is on top of Elizabeth and he rips her heart out of her chest, and it beats in his hand.

Everybody in the class was like "AAAAH!"

And then when Victor reanimates her...? Man that scene is burned into my mind. It's seriously gross. She's just.... ew.

(If you've seen it you'll know what I mean)

I finally started The Silence of the Lambs. (I've had it lying on my shelf for SUCH a long time now) I really wanted to get Red Dragon before reading any of the books but I needed something to read and that was the only thing that seemed half interesting.

Guess I'll go.... not eat.

Oops, sorry guys :(

I didn't get to write a TWoN post on Friday because we left for the beach house... but next week I promise I'll get it done, and maybe even have another interview! (One per month is my goal currently)

Thankfully there was nothing of note to report (that I noticed?)

Okay so as usual I have lots of pictures to share with you.

This was my room:

It wasn't super big but it had a TV in it and an awesome ceiling. :0

The front patio area of the house.

The view of the... body of water across the street.

Must be a pretty good body 'cause it's got birds all over it AND YES THAT WAS TOTALLY UNECESSARY. :D

Front of the house.

Back.

The kitchen had this big window but there's no point in having it there because all you can see is other houses.

Mossy bricks.

Twisty beer.

Stairs to the second level.

Couches and such.

Haha, the mermaid had a crack. :P

(They don't show THAT in the Disney movie)

The beach a few feet from the house.

Pretty, eh?

My dad, brother, and cousin were throwing pizza crust into the air for the seagulls to catch.

Those birdies got close.

This picture is so awesome when it's bigger, like seriously.

They're all reflected in that dirty river thing!

Another view of the front of the house.

Inside.

The kitchen was a bit narrow but pretty nice.

Looking down into the main area.

So yeah... I'm not consuming any dairy for at least a week. Maybe forever? I gotta do some more research...

(My diet is weird...)

I have to take "be vegan by 2010" off the list of things I want to do because I just don't know how it's going to work. It would be a lot easier if tofu didn't make me vomit. (Seriously, it's like chewed up Jell-O. How do you people eat that stuff!)

If I get into a relationship I'm going to either confuse or frustrate the other person a lot. Maybe both. Unless they somehow have exactly the same diet as me. Which... would be strange.

Right, well, I gotta go take a shower now. School tomorrow and I definitely am not going there feeling dirty. Er.... grimy. Y'know.

Designing again...
Tuesday, January 27, 2009
[I'm kind of irritated because I just wrote an entry and it closed, and even though I copied the text it didn't work when I pasted it.]

I drew this in GIMP instead of working on the comic.

Drawing clothes I'd like to wear is fun but I don't care for sewing much so I never make anything. Not that I wouldn't like to...

My entries are too long.
