A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

In another week I'll be a year older. The chance of the world ending before then is pretty slim I guess. I saw a bottle of wine with this on it today: It's a bear breathing fire. There is really no commentary I can give that will make that more epic. Also saw this thug lookin' dude at the library. It's not really odd until you think about the fact that the area where I live is filled with nerdy asian people. Anyway he was just checking out the DVDs, nothing really unusual. He looked more like he should be participating in a gang war than browsing through a library, though. Comment! (4) | Recommend! Were I a Cat... TAKE TWO Thursday, September 9, 2010 Were I a cat, living outdoors I'd break into your house And scratch up your floors And at night I would howl Outside your door Just to keep you from sleep Nothing more --- Were I a cat, of the indoor kind I would escape And run you out of your mind As you were worried sick Over my safe return, I would be quick And run in the direction Of that Chinese restaurant That failed the health inspection And you would get a new kitten, But it would be me! (I'd be reincarnated, you see) And then Just as you were getting settled in I'd do it all over again (This entry is dedicated to those who were disappointed by my last entry, which was lacking in feline content.) Comment! (6) | Recommend! | Categories: Poetry [t] Were I a cat Wednesday, September 8, 2010 Here I am, sitting and listening to the soothing strains of... Korn... on iTunes, wondering what's in the box my favorite mister gave me. Scratch that, the song ended. Hello, Tears For Fears. (He didn't wrap it, so he just stuck it in this box he had lying around) What material mystery does this cardboard cage hold? I can open it in less than two weeks... I think I have the patience for that. But, were I a cat, I would be dead right now. --- The wind fills my blinds Heaving them with a deep breath As it chills my room Comment! (5) | Recommend! The semblance of words spoken Monday, September 6, 2010 This time I'll do the important stuff first and leave the fluff for later. It's like jumping off a twenty story building and landing in marshmallows! Except not really at all. Okay, you ready? Got your helmets and kneepads on? Set to go? He said "I love you". :0 I felt kind of bad because I couldn't say it back with sincerity. I replied with a semi-smile and silence. I think it just takes me longer to fall than him. Now, a review of the last few days: Friday: Drove down south. Forgot to bring scones. Ate at Taco Bell. :( Wandered around a playground in the dark with my boyfriend. Slept at Lucy's apartment. Saturday: Hung out with him all day. Visited the Santa Ana Zoo. Saw Going the Distance (terrible beyond belief; do NOT watch!). Went to a nickel arcade and played Para Para Paradise as well as Bust a Move (which is starting to become a tradition?). Visited the Top of the World and looked up at the stars and down at the city lights with him. Were interrupted by noisy people and so drove back to Lucy's place. Sunday: Saw Knight & Day at a $2 theatre (not as terrible as Going the Distance, but not good either because of a tendency to get painfully cheesy). Ate movie nachos and popcorn, which might have caused me to feel sick. Went to a Tapioca Express and got a water bottle that said Cooljivin' on it. Walked around a man-made lake that was very shallow and had ducks and fish in it. Went to Alice's place, got some food from Whole Foods, and said goodbye to him around 1:30 AM. Today: Woke up and ate a Clif bar. Drove back to San Jose. Felt uncomfortable because I had the middle backseat the entire time. Got home and ate soup. I don't have a whole lot of pictures to share, unfortunately. I'm overdue for a new camera... Interesting, but not overly exciting, if you know what I mean. Hangin' out with a peanut. Some interesting popsicles at the Santa Ana Zoo... My boyfriend didn't think these were weird, but I can't be the only one who's confused by the existence of granola popsicles, right? My birthday is coming up in a couple weeks. He gave me a present, but I'm not allowed to open it until then, of course. I'm still not that enthusiastic about losing another year of my youth, but I can't wait to open that box... :3 Comment! (1) | Recommend! NOOO NO Tuesday, August 31, 2010 The title is explained HERE. Hehehe. I... hung out with Alice today. We went to the place where she goes horseback riding and saw her horse, then walked around the grounds of the ranch. The smell of horses and horse droppings was strong. Oh so strong. D: After zat we went to Peet's and got some cold beverages. Yum yum. We enjoyed the air conditioning for awhile then hopped back into her car and drove to her house... You know, she has a Bop-It Extreme 2. Unfortunately the batteries were pretty close to being dead and it was also very dusty. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... Oh but uh, she gave me some of her art, so that was cool. I have to find some wall space for it though. :S Right now my walls are pretty crowded. Also: Virgil's diet soda = the only diet soda I am willing to drink. No crazy artificial sweeteners! Meaning I am slightly decreasing my chances of getting cancer! How can you argue with a slight decrease?! AND IT'S GOT LIKE NO CALORIES AND I MEAN COME ON WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE. Except if you don't like rootbeer or cream soda, I guess. Then it is just a tragedy. Lastly, I think I'm going to see my boyfriend this weekend! :3 Alice's family will drive me down south, then I'll stay at a relative's house and we can hang out. Yayyyyyyy. (It's been a couple weeks since I last saw him, and chances are it'll be a long time after that before we can hang out again...) My mom keeps expressing disapproval at my decision to start another long distance relationship, but whatever. It's my life, and if I want it to be full of misery and suffering, so be it! Comment! (4) | Recommend! If you only listened to the music Monday, August 30, 2010 I wonder if you'd ever notice how sad this song is? I've been going to bed earlier and getting up at the same time. It's not enough. I wish I could stay asleep the entire time, but I guess my body isn't up for that. Last night I went to bed around 9:30 PM... woke up at two, then went back to sleep until six... eight... ten... No matter how much I sleep, I just want to stay in bed longer. I'm not sure if this has happened before. I mean, of course I didn't want to get out of bed, but the longing to return didn't used to plague me all day. Eh well. I guess wanting to lie in bed is better than wanting to lie in the middle of the street... I wrote a poem. Shall I share it? Comment! (1) | Recommend!
