Sharp teeth test your skin
too late, you let an angel in
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
―D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
―Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
―Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories — if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
―The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

“The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road.”
― Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

Okay, so about that interview
Sunday, October 5, 2008
I guess someone doesn't have to IM me, you guys can just submit questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability...

There should probably be a limit, though. Shall we say fifteen? (I actually doubt I'll even get that many, but you're welcome to ask multiple questions...)

---

Pictures from today!

Varsha, hard at work.

A guy came over and said he'd put us down for a bonus because we were working so hard. But then I was trying to clean off my broom and she was using her broom to try and brush off mine, and he came over and I guess it looked like we were playing, so he said "okay, no more bonus." I think he was kidding anyway.

We both made $97.50. :D

She was laughing when we were waiting for my mom to pick us up.

The first task they gave us was to walk to the farmers' market and give out postcards. We did that, and saw this cool-looking shop called Infiniti. It was closed though. So we went across the street and got smoothies. After the festival ended we walked back to Infinit and looked inside. It's cool on the inside too, but jeez is everything expensive. I saw a jacket that was $150. Maybe I'm rich compared to before, but I still can't afford that...

I saw a really cool messenger bag that I would've liked in black, though.

Los Gatos.

It's very upscale compared to our area. And there are a lot of white people. And a lot of dogs....

Around five-ish we picked up Lucy and Angie and went to find a dress for Lucy to wear to the Homecoming dance. My mom drove us to Marshall's first. There wasn't anything good there, but we did have some fun.

No idea what she's supposed to be but we just kept piling on the clothes. :P

Since Marshall's didn't have anything we went to Macy's. Lucy found something she liked there, and I saw a girl I used to babysit. (But I didn't say anything to her...)

When Lucy was changing we sat in the dressing room to the left of hers and talked about random stuff. Like Moosemi. (That's moose-em-eye)

Varsha thinks that moosemi are hilarious. I think it's amusing at best. When we were walking back from the farmers' market we saw some place called "The Indian Store" or something, which was actually Native American themed. They had moccasins that were "made from moose," so I said "they're made from moose! D:" (last part just shows the expression, I didn't say 'colon d!'). Then Varsha said "you mean meese." And I said "the plural of meese is my." We left the store and I told her that the plural of octopus is octopi, so the plural of moose is moosemi. It was a spur of the moment joke thing...

One of those three-panel hinged mirrors at Macy's.

I think it looks cool...

Another idea
Friday, October 3, 2008
So there was the Expo idea, and now there's the Interview idea.

If (when?) we get a bigger group of active members here, I think it would be kinda cool to have a featured member (like there was supposedly in the olden days) and an interview. I don't know how it would work but I think it'd be interesting. Maybe the interview could be conducted by IM or something....

There could be an account for the featured members/interviews. Each entry could be an interview, and maybe it could have a picture of the person or some sort of visual to represent them. I dunno.

But yeah, just a suggestion. (I feel like an age is coming to an end here at Nutang...)

[I'd volunteer to do it if anybody was interested]

Did anybody read the dream poem...?

...Nobody would come
Friday, October 3, 2008
I was thinking earlier about expos and cons. I've never been to one as far as I know. But I keep hearing about them and seeing news about them.

So I was thinking, what if we had a Nutang Expo where members could get together and do random crap? What would happen? Would people come? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

---

I had this great picture that took me at least an hour to draw, and I was going to post it here but then it froze on me and I couldn't save it or anything and now I'm depressed. :|

-Sigh-

Not the greatest of days.

---Edit---

Reality is not enough for my mind.

GAH NOT AGAIN!
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
I almost had a heartattack when I opened iTunes and nothing was there. D:

THANKFULLY, I saved my library just yesterday.

I'm still starting to really hate Apple though. This is, what? the fourth time my library has disappeared on me?

At least this time I haven't lost anything... but still. D:

WTF Apple, WTF.

[It appears to be getting my hundreds of podcasts first... :|]

---

In other, amazingly awesome news, MY CAMERA HAS BEEN FIXED! :D

It's charging now. :)

---

I had no idea I had so many podcasts.... although since combined they run longer than a day, I should've known... (Man, almost four hundred though! :0)

---

School today kinda sucked. We ran in Weight Training because of... oh yeah, he didn't say. He just said to head to the track. BOY OH BOY.

I heard something about "that's the sign for chewing tobacco, Alexander!" and we had to run. What. The. Hell.

It was really sunny out, and hot. And we didn't stretch. And this is the first time we've run this year. HE MADE US RUN A MILE.

I hate his teaching method. Or maybe I should say punishment method. >:(

---

We're doing a senior ad. (Me, Varsha, Lucy, Angie) And now that my camera is fixed I can actually take pictures to put on it. :D Unfortunately the dumbass yearbook crew decided we couldn't do our own layout so we have to just send in photos and captions. :(

Blehhh.

---

I need to figure out what to do for Halloween.
