You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Impromptu dance party
Thursday, October 15, 2009
My day was somewhat unexciting, but it went well.

I decided to actually learn in my classes today, and I managed to stay awake through both of them...

Ate lunch... they had mozzarella sticks. :0

Napped.

Went and participated in a psychology study, which was quick and easy.

Napped?

Had dinner with Casey and Saeedah. The grilled cheese was really good... (I get it pretty much every day, but it's not usually good :|)

AND THEN... Casey and I decided to have a dance party in her room, so I grabbed my iPod and we danced to my music for three hours, just the two of us. :P It was fun stuff. We also assembled a Halloween costume for her that makes her look mega cool, and turned out the lights and waved around a flashlight and her iTouch for a better dance party effect. It was pretty swell.

In less fun news, still no letters. :/ I should call his parents to see if they've gotten anything, I guess... but I'm kind of afraid to. D: I'll try it tomorrow after Casey and I buy more dance party supplies...

A few pictures from the Emilie Autumn concert
Wednesday, October 14, 2009
(Wow, a title that's actually relevant?)

My camera ran out of batteries, and apparently it's more broken now too, so the videos I took have no sound. :/

Anyway, here's the ever lovely EA:

And again!

The acrobatic Captain Maggot, whom Casey proclaimed to now be her soulmate.

And later on in the show, on the other side of the room, the Contessa performed some interesting feats with a... sheet or something.

I think at least one in three people had a camera out at any given moment.

Neat-o!

It was a really great concert. There was a lot of interaction with the audience, and it wasn't boring at all. At various points during the show, they threw cookies at us. Me and Casey both got hit, though unfortunately we weren't able to catch any.

Dancing to Dominant, although you can't hear it because MY CAMERA IS BROKEN.

The lack of sound saddens me. :( Of course, you don't know what you're missing since you weren't there, so it's probably just a minor inconvenience to you guys.

Crazy and wonderful antics, performed ever so gracefully by Captain Maggot.

It took a bit longer to get back than we had hoped, since the E train wasn't available. It's always the E train these days... really inconvenient for us when we have to get back to school, you know. Sure we can take the R, but then we have to transfer to the F at a later point and it's just more trouble... -sigh-

Sixty four more days, guys. :/

I am not doing my schoolwork
Monday, October 12, 2009
Even though I have a midterm tomorrow and supposedly I should be at least attempting to study.

I just can't focussssss. :/

Yesterday I went to bed at 6 AM and woke up at 9 AM. CRAZY STUFF HUH? Heh.

Had brunch with Casey, and saw Nathan, so I waved at him. Then, because of the state I was in, I ran over to him and asked him if he wanted to hang out. He said alright, so the three of us hopped on a bus and went to the city.

Casey spent about twenty minutes in a comic shop with us, then had to leave for a play she's required to see.

Ummm after that... what did we do... oh, we saw Zombieland in a pretty posh theatre. The tickets were horrifically expensive, but well, it is Manhattan so I dunno what to expect.

It wasn't a bad movie, but it didn't make much of an impression on me in any way. 'Twas a bit gory for my tastes in some parts...

After the movie we walked around, sat and talked for a bit, then ate at some place. He admitted that yes, he does have a crush on me, but no, he won't try to make a move on me. We agreed to just be platonic friends, even though he says long distance relationships very rarely work.

Mm, headed home on the subway, and then went up to his room and ATTEMPTED (key word: ATTEMPTED) to play The Darkness. I failed oh so miserably. Like, I died twice in the first ten minutes. After that I just gave up. I think we talked about some other stuff, but I was getting sleepy so I went back to my room and got ready for bed, ate an orange, and slept.... at 1 AM. (Had to be on the computer for like two hours first... X|)

That sounds bad, but it does prove that I can go to bed five hours earlier without much trouble. Although if you take into account the fact that I had a full day on three hours of sleep..... but we're not.

Hey guys, I have some of those things called "pictures" today.

This is Saeedah's massive bubble of gum.

PANTS AND. Supplying all the pants and nothing you could ever need.

This typo is only made more hilarious by the fact that this is a Catholic school.

Keep off the grass, guys. Even if it's a tiny patch, and it doesn't look like anybody really gives a damn. Hell, the LEAVES aren't staying off the grass, and you'd think they'd be more sympathetic to the grass's plight, being plant brethren and all...

Dunno if you can tell since this picture is a bit blurry, but there's a dude creepily and conspicuously doing some o'er-the-shoulder readin' there.

Penciled rejection.

Annnnnnd that be it I methinks.

This picture makes me so sad.

I used to watch The Princess Bride all the time when I was younger. Cary Elwes was like, the ultimate Prince Charming dude to me.

AND HE GOT FAT?!?! (And old, but that's beside the point)

Every other day, another piece of my childhood is shattered. Damn you, Reality!

Anyway, enough about things that are not really important to anybody... Actually, this is probably annoying to some people. (Supposedly I should be able to say what I feel like on my own blog, though :P)

I didn't do a whole lot today... Casey showed me the uh... frightening looking hickeys that she acquired last night. This girl sidled up to her in a bar and apparently they had some pretty intense make out sessions. Casey doesn't want to get into a relationship though, since the girl is way too aggressive for her in that respect... and I can totally see where she's coming from. (Yay, we can relate!)

Ehm... waved to Nathan, ate an unfulfilling lunch at the dining hall... later had an equally unfulfilling dinner... (One piece of broccoli + swiss pizza, a banana, and juice, in case you were curious... oh yeah, and of course Cheerios with a dollop of ice cream :3)

Still no letter... But I've gotten along fine for twenty days without him so far, the next... sixty... seven? shouldn't be so bad. (Yes I'm counting... but I count a lot of things)

---

I shouldn't be up at 4 AM, but there's no school today or tomorrow and my roommates are both gone. I've been reading webcomics [Out There and Ugly Girl, linked in the KtB module] with lengthy archives and I just don't feel like changing into my pajamas.

I'm not depressed, or happy, or anything, really, right now. Although I guess I ought to be tired... I dunno. I have a few pictures on my camera, I'll post them later.

Today has been pretty peachy, if I do say so myself. :D

Talked to my new friend again in the library caf, then went to my history class and the professor was all "turn in your papers and then you can leave."

Everyone in the class was like "WHAT NO WAY" and she goes "YEAH WAY I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS"

-Much rejoicing-

So yeah, my weekend started like an hour earlier. :P

And uhhhhh three day weekend, woo. Except next week there might be some midterms so that's kind of like, suckage, but you know, you can't win at everything.

Now whatttttt...

I had such a disturbing dream last night. Well, this morning technically. I didn't feel disturbed within the dream, just when I woke up and realized what had happened.

Ewwwww.

Not giving too many details, but it involved marriage. And laundry. But the laundry thing didn't really have any ties to the marriage thing except for being sort of a perk.

So creepyyyyyy. D:

[The Chem professor isn't in here yet, so either he's really late or the class is canceled a gain... we shall see...]

---Edit---

[Dangit, he was just really late. Now he's telling us we all failed our tests. ): ]

---Edit 2---

My day just keeps getting worse...

Order of events:

-Creepy dream
-Professor telling us we all failed
-Dropped my laundry detergent on the floor, where the cap broke and it leaked out
-Spent about twenty minutes cleaning up detergent
-Went to go do laundry
-Didn't get halfway to the door before the detergent slopped out again
-This time it got all over the clothes I was wearing, too
-Another twenty minutes cleaning up, but without a shirt on
-Did laundry
-Came back
-Floor was sticky
-Tried cleaning floor more
-Felt depressed because I'm wearing my new jeans and they got detergent all over them, but I was too stubborn to take them off, and now they're getting stiff :/
-Came back to get my laundry and two of my shirts were missing
-Found the missing shirts, but then checked on my clothes in the dryer and the button came off my black cargo pants. D': (This would be nothing if I were at home...)

I need a nap.... but I can't take one until I finish my laundry in like an hour. D:

---Edit 3---

This is exactly how I feel right now:

Hey, I was actually right this time
Wednesday, October 7, 2009
So that guy who has been watching me finally approached me and said something today.

It was pretty nice, we had a conversation over baked goods and discussed classes and life. He said he hadn't talked to me earlier because I always had friends around and he thought it would be weird.

I thought about mentioning that I'm currently... involved... with someone (I still have a hard time coming to terms with this, as you've undoubtedly noticed...), but I figured there was no need to. As of yet he has just stated that he's seen me around campus a lot and doesn't have many friends. There was no mention of other interest.

Hopefully this will work better than the friendship I attempted to start with that other guy. I'm not swimming in estrogen here, but I would like to have some guy friends, since I didn't really have any in high school (AJ was just a class friend).

Umm no sign of a letter so far, so I guess I'll write to him again.

---Edit---

I love songs about violent obsession. :3

Oops
Tuesday, October 6, 2009
I think I just failed my Chem test. Like, there is no way I did not fail. I only fully answered like 3/4 of the questions, first of all, and unless I got all of those right somehow I'm kinda going to fail. Literally fail. Not "oh noses I got a C!" fail. Like "CRAP THERE IS AN F ON MY PAPER" fail.

Oh frisky dingoes.

:/

The entire time as I stared uncomprehendingly at my paper, I wished I could stop time. Even more than usual. D:

---Edit---

Things I always want to say to boring people:
-"You are not actually weird, unless you count being weird merely because you AREN'T weird"
-"That wasn't funny"
-"Your hobbies/habits are not as unusual as you think, a lot of people actually do that"
-"You're exaggerating when you say something about yourself is weird. You're exaggerating a lot"
-"I have to go do something now, bye"

Mostly though I just feign interest...
