You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

I want a messenger bag :(
Sunday, February 17, 2008
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die.
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Stupid squeaking backpack.

I'd love to get a messenger bag from Simple.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS?!?

I love their ads.

"Hemp isn't marijuana... and a good thing too because I am pretty sure I'd be fired if I smoked all the ecoSNEAKS inventory."

"We get asked all the time if marijuana is the same thing as hemp. I mean, really, if the hemp we use in our shoes got you high, don't you think we'd have enough money to hire some models for our ads?"

I reread Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass today. Well, not really all of today. It took about two hours, I think. Or maybe three. I dunno.

It'd be kinda funny if people started saying "LYODAO" because of me. (See post below)

Happy... end of Sunday.

I think if I could get a job doing something menial but something I could really concentrate on, I'd be perfectly content...

Pictures 'n stuff.

Anonymous at Stanford...

Blurry as hell picture of the one the buildings.

(Sorry, I had to take it with extended exposure while I was moving...)

My mom got a new crockpot.

:)

Old creations of mine.

Attempt-at-a-pencil-holder-for-my-dad-cat and Turtle-that-for-some-reason-is-standing-on-a-humongous-wedge-of-some-sort-of-cheese.

There's a picture in the hall, and you can see who's on the computer if you look at the reflection in the glass. (That's my dad, who, amazingly, does exist even though I never really say anything about him here)

Artsy?

I had to make a DEAD day thing for French, and I just had these left over.

Mini-crockpot at Linens 'N Things.

It's so cute!

It's even scarier up close.

Not sure what they were trying to go for here. Zombie bride- frog edition?

That thing was probably taller than me.

Wait... a "New Kid's Program"? So now kids have kids they don't want bullied?

This is the first of its kind that I've seen. I guess they're teaching kids to beat up other kids now...

The big lizard that lives in the wood pile in our backyard.

We have two others, but they're smaller and weren't around for the picture.

Hmm... dunno what to write, if anything at all. I'll be taking the SAT on March 1st... so that's not too long from now... (No panic, yet)

I've yet to do any reviews for Music Genesis. That's not a huge problem though. I have a few more months left to do that.

...I'm kinda hungry...

The existence of this site amuses me.

And I just remembered that I found a new webcomic (Daisy is Dead). Linked in the module.

Boredom.

Actual post [with pictures]
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
We hit the jackpot today.

Angie was rambling on about us being a reality show or something like that, and I was wondering if she could fit into a locker.

Well, we went searching for a bottom row one that was empty.

First one we opened....

Was filled with asian newspapers!

Sophia's foot is in the picture if you can see it.

We rejoiced a bit, even though our "treasure" was worthless and I certainly didn't want any of it.

We started looking again, and found another locker full of newspapers. The one on top was the Mercury News, I think.

Excited about the findings.

(That's Varsha next to Angie, and Sophia's reading the paper)

Another empty locker, which had apparently been cleaned out.

Angie didn't quite fit.

Hehe... looks kinda like she's doing some business. :P

Indeed, quite a day.
