You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

People are often disappointing
Thursday, June 26, 2008
So first I saw the KKK site, then I saw the racist poem posted by one of the Nutangers. (You all know who it is)

Of course, there were also the many enraged responses to the aforementioned poem. And rightly so. Even if the intent was... good... the post was not written well, nor were the arguments for the original point stated in the best way.

I applaud Dilated for his comments to the post, as well as Chloefoxx...

Since they already pointed out pretty much everything there's no point in me writing a long, drawn out essay-comment. I wouldn't have anything new to say.

But, if I had an award to give, I'd give it to them.

---

And now less serious stuff...

Magnifying glass.

Pesto garlic bread.

I found an interesting site last night (this morning)... Won't link it or describe it here because this is a public post and I want to see if the content on it can ever relate to my life.

Reading Kuri's comment on the not-so-great post, I wonder if the UK is really the right way to go after all. So I take back my previous statement...

Four days to go...

---

I'm writing a poem. I don't know if I'll share it or not yet. Tell me if you want to see it, I'll put it in a protected post...

O... kay then. Weird night stuff
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Last night (well, this morning technically) I went out for a walk. [2 AM]

First thing I noticed: the traffic light kept switching between red and green. Like, it would make the transition with the yellow light, but it switched back and forth with maybe a three second pause. Bored light? I dunno, but it was weird.

Second thing: there were bugs all over the ground. And I don't mean like ants or sowbugs. There were gigantic beetles everywhere. I think they might've been cockroaches or something. Not sure. I saw about twenty of them when I was walking around and it was mildly unpleasant given their unusual size but thankfully I'm not deathly afraid of cockroaches/beetles like I am of spiders.

Third thing: The moon didn't really move into the middle of the sky. Normally this wouldn't bother me... if it was earlier. But at 2-3 AM it should be higher. I couldn't see it from my backyard... :S

When I went on night walks before I got a great feeling but this time was just strange...

---Edit---

Maybe
Ever

Oh, wow. So the KKK apparently has a site of its own, and I must say, I'm absolutely disgusted by what they say on there. It's Bible thumpers + racists + just about everything else I hate. And they're making themselves out to be martyrs. What the hell?

I know it's a free country, but god, this makes me want to move to the UK or something.

I feel tired...
Sunday, June 22, 2008
I actually went to bed before the birds started chirping, but I feel tired.

Mail came.... yesterday? Something like that.

I got an A in all of my classes except US History. (Big surprise?)

So... that brings my GPA up to a 3.833. (I feel so bad for having memorized that)

Yay. :)

And now I'm balancing a conversation about a guy's love life trouble with Joey's ramblings about his bow and arrow. :P

The new cooktop is sitting on the floor. Our old one is turned off, which is a little distressing because I kind of want to make something, but it's all good. This is exciting for me. :0

I leave for Hawaii in about a week.

And when I'm beheaded at least I was wedded
And when I am buried at least I was married

I love this song so much.

---Edit---

I just thought of something I really want right now: mini peanut butter cups.

Oh mannnnnn those sound good right now.

Scary. :(
