A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"
"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories — if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
―The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
“The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road.”
― Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

There are no gumdrops in this entry. It was all a lie.
I did not lie about the walrus though. I sculpted one from my kneaded eraser.
I had my hand over the flash, so it came out red. Didn't feel like fixing it.
My art professor saw it and now thinks I have an obsession.
Somebody put this in our bathroom earlier. It's not an entirely fair statement; I buy all of the hand soap for our room, so shouldn't someone else buy the toilet paper?
I have become really pale lately and it worries me. :|

So mundane people can feel like they matter
Wednesday, January 27, 2010
This site, www.formspring.me, is like... neverending interviews of not-famous people.
All the more reason for myself to sign up, eh?
Perhaps I will put this in a module so that when you are bored you can ask me pointless questions about pointless things, so that when I am bored I can answer your pointless questions with equally pointless responses and we CAN ALL LIVE POINTLESS LIVES IN THIS BIG OL' POINTLESS WORLD.
"This porridge is too pointless!" said Goldilocks. Then the bears came in and tore off her head and ate her with their overly pointless porridge, which they acquired from a pic-a-nic basket. Yes indeedy.
I'm not even feeling that depressed right now. I'm just good at sounding bitter and unhappy. HAHAHA. Time to try to jump out the window. Gotta break the glass because it only opens four inches.
Some quotes I like
Saturday, January 23, 2010
"Beauty is ever to the lonely mind a shadow fleeting; she is never plain. She is a visitor who leaves behind the gift of grief, the souvenir of pain."
"If we discovered that we only had five minutes left to say all that we wanted to say, every telephone booth would be occupied by people calling other people to stammer that they loved them."
(Both by Christopher Morley)
Bought art supplies today for my class.
And feeling paradoxical. Again.
I can't talk about this right now. It's not something that will work in a blog entry.
I'm thinking about adding THIS COMIC to my KtB module... not sure yet though.
Good, bad, whatever, I'll probably change my mind anyway

So I was thinking about looking into becoming a kindergarten teacher...
Now anybody who has even been loosely following my blog for a while would probably think "wtf" right about now. And I guess you'd be right to.
Chances are though that if I did go that route I wouldn't pass on my depressive/crazy tendencies... right? And it's not like I'd secretly be fantasizing about murdering my students in various creative and amusing or horrifying ways.
Seriously though, at this point I think I'm just latching onto anything that doesn't make me want to die/kill myself.
...I really wish my roommate's friend would stop putting her clothes on top of my bag. It's really annoying.

A difficult decision
Sunday, January 17, 2010
Which is better?
-I'm dead inside
-Being chased through the woods by a rapist
This is really hard to decide.
I think I'll go with the rapist option, since I know I don't like the first option.
Which is better?
-Finding something actually worth caring about
-Being dipped in honey and licked clean by three people you find attractive
Which is better?
-When the phone ringing wakes you up during an intensely erotic sex dream. So you finish yourself off while answering the phone. Then you get in the car and go find the person who called you. You proceed to beat the crap out of them for ruining your dream.
-Thug nugs (McNuggets)
That one was just too funny to not save.
