You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

I hope someone takes my advice.

Okay it's 12:09 AM
Thursday, November 5, 2009
So people, I can understand that you're excited that the Yankees won, but STFU OKAY SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP.

There aren't TVs just hanging around outside, so these people must be inside somewhere. It sounds like they're right next to the building. X|

Donovan (my dorm) is kind of away from the other dorms, so the ruckus could be coming from DaSilva... but god, it still shouldn't be this loud. This is ridiculous.

(YES I BELIEVE THEY ARE QUIETING DOWN)

(Wait, nevermind. They're just chanting now. D:)

(And wow, Firefox doesn't think 'nevermind' is a word.)

A now rare picture post
Monday, November 2, 2009
My ever-so-fly friend.

A fitting poster for Halloween.

Things on poles.

Snake? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKEEEEEE

There were a lot of things on poles at the parade.

Terracotta pie? No, Terra Incognito!

Can't have a parade without a dragon. (Law of nature #84)

I can only imagine how many papercuts were suffered through to make this.

I wonder how this guy felt when it started raining.

You're not getting in the damn gate, Dorothy.

Plants vs. Zombies or something, I believe.

Zombie demon = no sense. This makes less cents than the worst panhandler in the state of Alaska.

It's a small diner.

It's old Captain Superman Guy!

This reminds me of Superfogeys...

Hey, guess what's totally legal in New York.

It's like the artsy counterpart of Spring Break!

I'm not sure what 'teabagger' means in this context, but I'm hoping it's not what I know it as. Old people + disturbing sexual innunedo = horrible, horrible things.

Lookin' slick.

Alas, the rain got the best of poor Casey's hair.

It's hard to tell, I know, but this dude was falling asleep on the train. Heh. He kept nodding and then bolting upright.

Do YOU want to profit from the FASCINATING SCIENCE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS too??!?! Just ask Bill and Brian Wolfe, those cool cats know all about it!

Yeah uh... today I was told that I have a big butt. I also received a book about couples' communication in the mail. :/ It was an awkward day.

Rainy proceedings
Sunday, November 1, 2009
It's raining, it's pouring
The old man is snoring
He went to bed and bumped his head
And when they found him in the morning
He was dead

Moral: Old people are fragile.

It rained on us at the parade last night. We decided to leave about an hour in... but it took us two hours to get out. The subway entrances were all congested and some were closed... people were pushing against one another in a continuous mob on the streets, too.

Casey and I thought about going to a haunted house that sounded interesting, but we were unable to get there because the parade was blocking the street.

Eventually we ended up going back to the school and just eating in the diner. The food was sub-par... it was especially disappointing because they overcharge there, so we typically expect something not so sucky.

None of it really bothered me, though. Not the rain, or the soaked shoes, the lack of an umbrella or trying for two hours to get back, the disappointing food, or the fact that Saeedah never met up with us. For some reason I just didn't care.

I spent the rest of last night after we got back into the dorm sitting on my bed, wishing I could have gone trick or treating at home.

Oh, and listening to this:

Which I discovered through this:

CLICKIES

Deflation....

---Edit---

Going through Aniboom again... this is in the Fox Challenge thing...

I feel immature for laughing but whatever.

This seems un-college like
Friday, October 30, 2009
According to my friend's roommate, there are rumors circulating that I'm a ninja.

Yes, a ninja.

And she didn't understand why I started laughing. She had a perfectly serious look on her face... and I really thought she was just messing with me. But no... no laughs from her.

This place is more like high school than my actual high school was...

Hummingbirds!

This is cute, but at the same time, it's really f***ing creepy.

It's so cute after they clean it off!

Reconsidering things. Looking at them more practically. There are questions I want to ask, but can't.

Soon...

I start listening to my Theology professor at the worst times... I just began paying attention as he was bouncing around and talking about rubbing oil on people. X|
