A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"
"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories — if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
―The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
“The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road.”
― Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

Indeed, I feel less unhappy when I've baked something.
So I guess that means I should bake all the time if I don't want to feel depressed?
I'm weird. :P
I haven't actually tried it yet, so I'm going to have to hope the soy protein powder didn't kill it...
And now I'm going to listen to IdealSound Vinylslut, which is apparently supposed to sound slutty but doesn't manage it in the slightest.
Oh god we got a huge container of it
Tuesday, February 5, 2008
We picked up a huge jar of soy protein powder from Trader Joe's.
It said to mix two scoops with "your favorite drink", so I put two (gigantic) scoops of it into some apple juice and watched in horror as it turned into a light tan sludge.
"Okay, just chug it," I said to myself.
I lifted the glass.
I took a sip.
I gagged and... accidentally... spilled the rest down the kitchen sink drain.
Never again with apple juice.
To middaymoon: The brand is just the Trader Joe's brand.
Oh, how they butcher them

TItle from "Shalott" by Emilie Autumn.
I wrote a whole entry, then deleted it.
What is there to say, really? Meaningless crap. Nothing very interesting.
I want sleep.
Thanks for the ten comments on the last entry, guys. It's been a while since I've had double digits.
"She says you need to shower more, and use soap"

Alice called me last night. :P
It's not really a big thing, she calls me a lot. We talked until... 11:30.
I think most of our discussion was centered around whose body I wish I had. I couldn't really think of anyone I'd like to switch with. I mean, I think I'd be fine with myself if I had smaller hips or longer legs.... or not crappy skin...
(This isn't something I usually write about, is it?)
Before that, my family and I went to Sushi Boat for dinner. I just got some edamame since I wasn't really hungry... Everyone else got normal stuff. The salad had pink dressing. :S
Oh, and the Hot Pudding Cake was yummy. :D We had it with vanilla ice cream after we got home... it really is like pudding. :S When you get past the top layer it's pretty much chocolate pudding, but it's still pretty good.
My mom just told me we're not going to Maggiano's after all.... :/ I wonder if I'm ever going to get to go there?
Oh I almost forgot about the title. When Alice called my brother complained about how she calls all the time. So I told him that "she" thought he needed to shower more with soap and use dandruff shampoo. :P
My favorite cookbook.
And I got new earphones, finally. :D
Now less than ever before!

Gremlins, I'm tired.
(Experimenting with replacements for god, since I don't particularly believe there is one at the moment)
I think that motivational speaker managed to make me less motivated, if that's even possible.
Pictures and such...
My mom asked me to draw some pigs as examples for her art lesson.
It's her birthday today, by the way...
Tip: Don't put extra "fun" questions on the review.
We actually already watch a lot of videos though.
New chick drawings.
I need to work on drawing hands. :/
This brown mess is the chocolate pudding cake I made yesterday with Alice. It's not much in the way of beauty, but it's chocolate so I'm not sure how bad it can taste.
(Can't eat any until my mom gets back from her birthday trip to Napa)
I feel depressed... again.
