You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Maybe I'll make a real entry later.

This picture scares me. :'(

But not as much as this one.

If I saw that in my house... I would either start screaming hysterically or crying in fear... seriously.

:P

Optimists die
Friday, February 22, 2008
Today was Perry the Positive Pomelo's last day.

If you can see, there's a slight incision going around his head...

BRAINS!!!

The gruesome end to our citrus-y friend.

His last words were "Always look on the bright side of life! And look both ways before crossing the street, too!"

The oranges, his friends, survive him, and mourn his loss. But they know it was what he wanted. After all, his only alternative was to shrivel up and mold.

He will always be remembered for being eternally positive.

RIP, Perry.

Sixty seven cents... AND ALMOST A HUNDRED PAGES!
Thursday, February 21, 2008
Is all I have left in my checking account now.

I just ordered The Art of Falling Apart from Rasputin.

It was... majorly expensive once they tacked all the extra stuff on. :/

Stupid backordered stuff. Plus shipping... if they just had it in the store I would've gone there and bought it. Save me a couple of bucks...

Lucy's birthday is today... Angie and I went to her house and hung out a bit. It was... quiet. We didn't do much...

To ease off the awkward silence we tried to play Cranium, but failed miserably. There were no instructions and none of us knew how to play...

Listening to Jonathan Ian now. Normally I don't like acoustic but this is alright...

Sweet, sweet cheap music!

-Just bought Jonathan Ian II-

Amusing lyrics...

Wayne Gacey Was A Clown

What is it with clowns
That just makes you wanna just go nuts
They're always running around playing with balloons
I hate balloons
I hate those clowns
With their stupid red nose

I've never seen a clown with a blue nose
I guess it's gotta be red because they're drunk
all the time you damn wino
But that makes them a little bit funnier at
parties when dealing with children

Wayne Gacey was a clown
Do I really need to say anything else?
John Wayne Gacey was a clown

Would you like a Balloon
Nope, no thank you. I don't want a balloon

Do you want a balloon animal?
No, I hate clowns

Pictures from today
Wednesday, February 20, 2008
The Golden Gate Bridge.

We went to the di Rosa Art & Nature Preserve...

Sheep art.

Vineyards.

Thing that looks kind of like a chair but might not be.

It's a car... hanging from a tree!

Of course that makes it infinitely better than those silly cars on the ground.

Statues. The one flying around above the others is an angel.

These things scared me...

We actually weren't supposed to take pictures inside, heh.

Awesome house.

Peacock on the roof.

Someone's self portrait?

This is serious business!

No really, they mean it!

Bathtub filled with bowling balls.

There's the peacock again.

And here's another one with a nice big tail.

That, lovelies, is the world's tallest file cabinet.

(Click for a bigger picture)

Not for people who have zombiephobia.

More artsy stuff.

"Tired of crouching down to feed your baby in his highchair? Look no further!"

No idea what the hell this thing is supposed to be.

My brother is an idiot.

Him: What do you call a horse with no legs?
Me: -Irritated Sigh-
Him: FOOD
Me: You're stupid

Stupid CD burner
Wednesday, February 20, 2008
I'm trying to make Music Stuff Vol. 3 for Sophia, but the burner died on me.

Me: Damnit! I can't burn a CD!
Angie: Try freezing it

(Just for the record Angie, if you read this, I'm still contemplating whether or not that's actually funny)

Going to Napa in a bit. Some art thing my mom wants to go to. Alice was going to come with us but she scheduled an appointment that cuts into our little excursion. :/

I'm not sure if I'm hungry and I don't want to eat anything even though all I've had today is a plum.

Yay cucumbers!
