You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Nutang was being horribly slow, then it wasn't working for me...

What's there to say about today? Pretty uneventful as they go. I had cherry pie for breakfast though. And strangely enough, I'm not sleepy right now. Could there be a connection...?

Looking at this...

Supposedly you get a free Jamba Juice card... but they have no privacy policy or anything and I don't know if it's trustworthy...

Reading about random skin problems and apparently babies can have acne... which is gross...

This isn't a new song, but I like it.

---Edit---

Still can't beat level twelve. It's not making me want to scream and rub my skin off (I haven't done that since I was five...) but I'm not feeling much less frustrated.

What I hate is that I keep thinking I'm going to win but then Ivy gets all the Infusions, sends a bunch of Flesh Behemoths and Streetwalkers at me, and totally kills me. And I never have enough Delivery Boys to stop her. This level is so unfair! [And I'm not whining, I have tried to beat this at LEAST twenty times by now]

The mother-daughter brunch
Monday, September 1, 2008
So my mom had this great idea. She was going to hold a brunch at our house.

Yeah, I know, sounds like a terrific (waste of) time, right?!?!?!

Man. She went hiking at seven, I got up at seven thirty and made cheese puffs, cleaned off the table, did all my personal stuff and whatnot. (Well, not in that order but you get the idea)

Also made pizza whirl/roll thingys that were pretty awesome. And we have more phyllo dough so I'll probably make more. :D

My friends Gwenny and Meg came with their moms, and we had to sit at the table for two hours and talk and drink tea. I kept getting up partially because I was restless and partially because my chapstick was in my room.

When my mom was making tuna spread she asked us to go get a cucumber from the garden. We went outside, couldn't find anything in that mostly-edible jungle. Then I asked my dad, he got the cucumber, and clipped off this other.... thing.... that's supposedly draining the plant.

We do NOT know what this is. My dad says it's a mutant. I think it looks like a squash. A very odd squash. You can see that there's a normal cucumber next to it. So yeah, we have no idea what's going on there....

That tea made me sleepy I think. But I'm going to play Corpse Craft anyway 'cause DAMNIT I NEED TO BEAT LEVEL TWELVE.

I had a freakin' dream about that level. Which is kind of scary in itself because I can't remember ever dreaming about something that had happened recently before. Things in my dream world versus my real world are just... disconnected. I mean, there might be people I recognize, but 9.9 times out of 10 there won't be anything from my actual life. So yeah.

[I took that picture using my memory card in one of our other cameras but I have no clue how the thing works. That's why I like my (broken :'( ) camera, it's just... obvious how it works. You barely need instructions or anything.

Damn cheap complicated cameras. :|

These Two Words is in the player, along with the acoustic version of Finding Out True Love is Blind.

Gah, it's downloading so slowly!
Saturday, August 30, 2008
I've been playing lots of games on the computer... Mostly just free ones and stuff I found on Indie Games...

No idea how long I spent playing Corpse Craft. But I lost. :'( There's this one level where you start with a damaged workshop and I kept forgetting to put up adequate defenses. And I only managed to get enough resources to make two Flesh Behemoths... :|

Now I'm trying to download some game called Dirty Split that's supposed to be kind of like The Curse of Monkey Island... it's taking FOREVER. This is like when I would try to download DJ Bene's podcast back in the days when I had dial-up. Sad, sad times. It could take like ninety minutes to finish. No joke.

Um... so I haven't really been doing anything except playing games. Yep.

---Edit---

One of the other members of the SWR forum sent me These Two Words and it's AWESOME. I mean, I don't even usually like instrumental tracks that much but it's seriously great. I might put it up in my player later or something, dunno.
