You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Well I guess it could've been worse

I had my birthday "party" yesterday.

There's a good side, and then there's a bad side.

On the bad side, out of the nine people I invited, five cancelled last minute and two ditched.

So two people came.

I've never had less than five people before, so it was... kind of weird for me.

And admittedly, I feel kind of depressed that so many of my friends didn't go.

Alice showed up, even though she was sick. And Meg came.

On the good side, we had fun at the Boardwalk. We discovered this drum game that was pretty awesome, and played that a couple of times.

After that we went to get ice cream. I had a raspberry freeze, which was awesome.

Got home... had some pizza... watched a movie... and ate ice cream cake.

They both gave me giftcards. I'm okay with that, since nobody can ever seem to find anything that I absolutely love anymore.

Okay so, pictures.

Starting with Friday and my blood test.

The guy was pretty old, and his stuff showed. Antique radio!

My blood.

Now I have to take all these medicines because there's something wrong with me.

Interesting clock. I don't know what it's supposed to be.

My mom had a virus. It looked like a worm. :P

When the blood test was done we went to a healthy-ish food grocery store. They had these cool little things where you could make your own soda.

These cantaloupes were discounted. Guess why.

Gigantic garlic bulbs. Although I guess the name "Elephant Garlic" should explain that.

A gift store was closing. We looked at some cards.

The Safeway nearby is remodeling.... It looked all empty and weird.

Birdies eating celery.

I picked up Romeo and Cici flew onto my finger!

Interesting license plate at the Farmer's market.

Tiniest tomatoes ever.

The lasertag arena had blacklights, so the kitty eyes on my jacket showed up.

The grog shop near the ice cream parlor.

My tiny little ice cream cake. It didn't matter, we didn't need a bigger one.

We watched Airplane!, which Meg had never seen before. (At this point Alice had left because she felt too sick)

At least two people showed up, I guess. My brother was telling me about how he went to his friends birthday party.... and was the only one. And the really sad thing was that his friend had planned a party for some twenty other people.

So at least I wasn't alone.

She Wants Revenge has a new single on iTunes. Check it out if you like them.

Another year older and candy
Thursday, September 20, 2007
Hello my friends and internet stalkers. I have some heartbreaking news to... break to you.

I'm leaving Nutang.

Things just aren't working out for me here, and I've decided that I no longer need to have blogging as part of my life. So I'm closing my account and never coming back again. Hopefully you didn't believe any of that, since it was complete and total crap. I'm not leaving Nutang, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Boy though, would it be funny to see your faces if you thought I was. Ah......

Okay, well, I had a fairly nice birthday. I guess you could see it as depressing since Angie forgot it was my birthday and Lucy didn't say anything.

...But....

I got candy from two of my classes, some random people said happy birthday to me, and I have lots of balloons now. :P

I guess that the fun stuff that happened today outweighs the fact that my "main" friends didn't really... do anything.

I posted a link to this before, but here it is again. :P

Some pictures.

I woke up, went out of my room to talk to my mom, went back in... and this was there.

She got me a giant balloon and the ultra big sized box of Goldfish. :P

I left for school, had a fairly nice time, and came home. More balloons, and a present on the table.

M&M wrapping paper. But it seems more... learning themed.

My ballons. And they even came with some numbered ones.

I slid off the wrapping paper (tearing it seemed too... chaotic) and.....

"WOW a waffle/sandwich maker! Just what I've ALWAYS wanted!"

Nah, I didn't say that. If I had it would've been dripping with sarcasm.

Nice gift though. When I leave for wherever I'm going to live in the future, I'm takin' it! :P

[If you're wondering what kind of present that is, well, what can I say? Appliances are pretty useful. Though I can't say I wouldn't have enjoyed getting The Sims 2 Nightlife or a laptop...]

Speaking of sarcasm, a conversation I had with Sophia yesterday...

Sophia: You should listen to Skillet!
Me: Hey, yeah, you know, I just HAPPEN to have this band I've never heard of on my iPod!
Sophia: Wow really? Cool!
Me: I was being sarcastic.
Sophia: Huh? I couldn't tell.
Me: Here, let me try again.
*Excessive hand gestures* I just HAPPEN to have this band I've NEVER heard of on my iPod!
Sophia: Yeah, yeah, well the hand gestures! It seems more obvious now!
Me: *Laughing*

Mom: ... So he's a naturopath.
Me: What's that?
Dad: It's like a psychopath.
Me: Really!?
Dad: Yeah, pretty similar to one.

More interesting entry below. :D

My birthday is tomorrow. Happy sixteenth, me. Tomorrow, that is.
