Bring our illusion to a conclusion
with all our unsold dreams
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

“It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.”
~ William Blake

Don't drink the Mountain Dew
Saturday, July 7, 2007
Went to the Big Kahuna Marketplace today.

"Big Kahuna Marketplace. 'It's big!'"

I couldn't help myself. I had to laugh at that sign.

We went glow-in-the-dark mini golfing. Or at least, my mom, brother, uncle, and grandma did. I don't care for mini golfing. When they say "glow in the dark", they really mean "we paint everything neon and put blacklights in the ceiling". I SUPPOSE you could call it glow in the dark, but it's not really...

After that we checked out the rest of the "Marketplace". Mostly just tourist stuff, I think. But hey, Waikiki. What can you expect?

Got some Popeye's food, but I was very disappointed that they didn't have red beans and rice. That's like, the best thing there. Seriously. Maybe the cashier heard me though, because we got a large side order of fries and it filled the entire box. Really. Like, there were more fries than other food combined. It was awesome. :D

When we were eating our food this kid ran up to the soda fountain and actually DRANK FROM THE SPOUT. He just put his mouth on the Mountain Dew one and drank right from it. After that we were watching to see if anybody would take Mountain Dew. This one Japanese woman did... haha...

Okay, so when I post my Hawaii pictures I'll do them in groups, under password protected entries. The password should be obvious.

I was watching the Food Network earlier. Adrien got sent home. :'( Reality shows can be so cruel, even there.

Saw this really funny episode of Ace of Cakes, too. I think it was The Cake of the Seven Veils, or something along those lines.

[This entry is getting too long, so I will end it now with a random video]

{Video removed; too annoying}

Here's a fun little game from Adultswim.com for all you suicidals out there.

Five Minutes to Kill (Yourself)

This just brings a whole new meaning to "How many ways are there to die?"

Zooper
Friday, July 6, 2007
So I went to the Honolulu Zoo. It was nice...ish.

Once you get past the smell most of it isn't half bad. I like the birdies. :D But they don't have the talking myna bird anymore. :'(

I took more than fifty pictures. :0 [Gasp]

We saw giraffes making babies, and LOTS of peacocks. And I mean LOTS. They were all over this one part of the zoo, but we didn't see any peahens. Most of them only had the blue head/head feathers, no tail feathers. And their bodies were brown. Guess they weren't alpha male material. :P

I had the worst slushie I've ever had in my life at the zoo. It was horrible. It was just some crushed ice that they poured Crystal Light over, and it was really, really bad. I couldn't even finish it and it was hot outside, it was that bad.

After the zoo we went for shave ice at Waiola's. There was no parking except at Rainbow Drive In, so my mom parked there and had to get a cup of chili to make it look like we were customers. Then we went to this antique/shirt place.

While there, I discovered that I like bowler hats. With the short hair they don't look half bad. Didn't get anything though.

I got some stuff for my friends Lucy and Gwenny. Nothing for Angie yet, didn't see anything that seemed right for her.

Haha. Aptly titled "Hair Bra".
