A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence
"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"
"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation
"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita
"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

'Twas not the most foolish of April days...

Nobody really gives a crap about anything around here. Bleh.
If there were any shenanigans taking place I did not witness them. :P
My seventy one song album, the purchase of which I initially regretted, is starting to redeem itself. I like "If You Don't Love Me (The Future Sound of London Mix)" by Prefab Sprout a lot...
I'm starting to wonder if getting older is changing my musical tastes. I've been listening to so much more relaxed stuff these days it's hard not to come to that conclusion. Of course, it could always be a phase.
[Wow, I never thought there'd be a day where I'd trade She Wants Revenge for Sven van Hees... the song Breakfast With Abductees to be specific]
Um... No-Dairy week started today... so far, so good I guess.
There's some profundity floating around in my head, but I don't feel like writing anything deep at the moment.
Mm, I may be wrong about the music thing. That's just for electronic music. Now I'm going to back to listening to Rape This Day by Tomahawk. Good golly Miss Molly, I sure love this song.
Looking up the lyrics for "God Hates A Coward" (Tomahawk). Just typing in "god hates" brings up all these amusing suggestions:
god hates shrimp
god hates us all
god hates figs
god hates amputees
god hates sweden
And then at the bottom, "god hates a coward lyrics". :P
Laughing so hard right now.
If I ever wore a dress it would probably be something like this: CLICKIES
A light entry to counterbalance the last one

There was an orange cat outside our house yesterday. It was staring at something with much concentration.
Today we made "lungs" in Physio with water bottles, balloons, and trash bags. After we were done I blew mine up and drew a face on it.
We call him Uncle Freddie. He likes grinning creepily and small children.
Guy at school today was looking a bit scruffy and his shirt was unbuttoned and open. He looked like he'd just come back after being on a deserted island for a few weeks. I wanted to say "hey, where's Wilson?" but didn't. :P (Scruff is not necessarily bad though....)
(And I never saw Castaway, anyhow)
Oh yeah, and I hear that Vince from ShamWow got arrested or something? For beating up a hooker? It's the most entertaining news I've heard all day, I can say that for sure...
I think I might change my handwriting soon.
Whenever I hear "on the outside, looking in" this is what I think of:
Although I guess it could also mean watching people from outside a house or something...

It's not quite white, but still. My background was black for several years... this is something of a change, yes?
Today is Angie's birthday! I made her cookies and gave her the bear. (She didn't know it was a bear, she thought it was some sort of "mythological creature" that I just made up. :P) Also I drew up a card five minutes before leaving for school. It did not turn out great but it was alright.
I'm quite sad about the cookies. :/ It seems like the past few times I've made that recipe something has just gone wrong. I don't know what, either! D: This time they were too flat so I think maybe more flour/oatmeal should have been added... (I was in a bit of a rush last night so I spilled some flour, but it wasn't a WHOLE lot...)
Listening to Hypnotica. It's a pretty good album for the most part. I don't really like 'I Wanna Touch Your Soul'... the computer voice makes it sounds unpleasant.
Hey, you know what? I don't really like white pants. I just realized that today. There's something about them that makes them weird to me.
Also those posters that tell you what to do in case of different emergencies? Well I read the one for eye injuries and it was like "in case of a large object [or something?] place a cup over the eye..." and I was freaked out. I kept imagining some horrible like, chunk of metal or something, lodged into someone's half-collapsed bloody eyeball. Agh!
I don't know why I have this awful fear of ocular injury, really I don't. :/
Oh, this cashier at Trader Joe's remembered my mom and me from the last time we were there... it was a little weird. I mean, it's cool that he gets personal, but it made me a tiny bit uncomfortable because that... just doesn't really happen around here. Mostly there's this kind of 'leave me alone' or 'buzz off!' attitude you get with the unsociable asian people. I dunno...

"But don't you want him... INSIDE you?"
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Varsha and I were talking about different religions, mainly Judaism/Christianity/Islam.
Me: So with Muslims it's like, they don't know what Muhammad looked like, and they don't want to know. They're like "no don't show him to me! No pictures! I don't want to see!"
But with Christians, it's like "JESUS JESUS JESUS! HAVE A JESUS LOLLIPOP! HAVE A JESUS STICKER! JESUS TAMPON!"
Varsha: I don't want a Jesus tampon!
Me: NO! JESUS IS EVERYWHERE!
Varsha: I'm so going to quote you, I swear.
