A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

There were also a lot of stares and pointing fingers and whisperings going on. Heh. Can't post pictures here because I'm staying in a hostel with my mom. Later, maybe. Comment! (3) | Recommend! Guess who didn't sleep in a bed last night Friday, March 5, 2010 I DID. My bedding was all in Saeedah's room, and it turned out that she wasn't here last night. I banged on her door, texted her, and knocked on the RA's door to see if she could let me in the room, but to no avail. What that meant for me was sleeping in my day clothes in the lounge on an uncomfortable chair while a bunch of people around me studied furiously. It felt like a baby step in the transition to being a hobo. Now I just have to move on to sleeping on the floor, then on a bench outside, and maybe even in a cardboard box eventually. I'm not really upset about the whole incident, although I do wish it hadn't happened. I guess I can count this as one of my college "adventures". It's kinda nice right now... I have the whole lounge to myself. I assume everyone went home for Spring Break. I'm bored with the internet. Comment! (6) | Recommend! Where are my instincts? Thursday, March 4, 2010 I just realized that in my constant struggles with social interaction, the first question I usually ask myself is "what would a normal person do?" Yet... somehow I never noticed this before. I'm always asking myself how normal people act so that I can try and emulate them, in order to make interactions go more smoothly. Always... Even as I sit here, half an hour before my counseling appointment, I'm wondering if a normal person would go into the counseling center and wait for that long, or if they would instead sit outside until a few minutes beforehand and then go in. I have no instincts. I don't have a sense of right or wrong in situations. I have to base my actions off of observations I've made about others. My mode of behavior isn't inherent, it's acquired... I'm confused. Comment! (2) | Recommend! No more hat time Tuesday, March 2, 2010 I guess nobody wanted to see it. Oh well. CLICKIES for the comic I drew for ItC. It turned out okay. Comment! It was actually a bunch of short films with an intermission in between, in which a band played. Another band played after the films were done. It was pretty entertaining, and I would go again. We decided to go rather last minute; it was about six and we wanted to do something, so we surfed around on the internet, trying to see what looked good. My first suggestion was that we find an oxygen bar, but that didn't really work out. We ended up checking out the sites of a few venues we'd been to before, and the Music Hall of Williamsburg had a screening put on by The Film Shop. I didn't take any pictures/video during the films themselves, but I did take some shots of the bands that played, along with a few video clips. First though.... I made the mistake of going back and getting Butt Naked. We're really mature college students. Oh no Kinda crappy picture of Hank & Cupcakes. All the hipsters around me had huge fancy cameras that my little Kodak couldn't compete with. X| Lightssssss. This is... Emmanuel and the Fear, I believe? They're an eleven person orchestra rock band. During their first song there was a flute solo. I was kinda thirsty on the way back, so we stopped into an interesting convenience store to see what they had. I got a ginger beer and a sangria soda. The sangria did not have a twist off cap, and we did not have a bottle opener, so getting it open was very tricky. After struggling with it for quite a while, I managed to open it with Casey's mailbox key. I escaped with no injuries... she, however, was not so lucky. She was actually dripping blood everywhere, which freaked me out. The edges of the bottle cap were pretty sharp... -Sigh- I probably have... homework or something... that needs to be done. :/ Comment! (2) | Recommend! The magic of 99 cent stores Saturday, February 27, 2010 When we go out, we have to take a bus to get to the subway. Where we get off the bus, there's a "99 cent" store. In truth, it's far from that. It's more like a "random cheap crap" store. Anyway, these kinds of stores typically have interesting products in them, should you care to look. Take, for example, these "athletics shirts"..... For the low, low price of $12.99 (suggested retail), you can get three of these fine... "athletics" shirts. I'm sure their model can tell you all about the athletic things he does in them, such as beating his wife. They had giant Oreo cookies with... no creme filling. Which is kind of the point of Oreos, if I remember correctly. Some interesting perfumes at the counter. Apparently the marijuana one really does smell like marijuana. Who'd have thought? (Something to think about: who wants to go around smelling like pot?) After our trip we went back to the store, just because we had to find out what the "pussy" perfume smelled like. We are... someone relieved, somewhat disappointed to report that it does not smell like pussy. It had a rather floral scent, actually... There was also a "Butt Naked" one that smelled pretty good, but I would feel so awkward buying anything that was named that. Since I've been trying to stay out of my room as much as possible, I've just been hanging out in Casey's for long periods of time. We made tea, and I tried to read my tea leaves, very unsuccessfully. I'm going to guess it's because I was using a tea bag, and also because I don't know how to read tea leaves. Yesterday Mister Boyfriend called me just as we were getting back to school... and he said I sounded happy, which made him happy. I guess he does notice that I don't usually sound very cheerful, but doesn't bring it up. Of course, when he called me back later, I sounded kind of down again I suppose. Eh well. It happens. ---Edit--- I hate the bathroom walls here. Every bathroom should be twenty feet underground and soundproof. I don't want to hear people doing their business. Comment! (7) | Recommend!
