1. The Enchanted - Rene Denfield
Remember me
Saturday, May 3, 2008
My ex-coursemate from Japan came over to Malaysia yesterday and stayed with me for the night before executing our surprising plan the next day. Indeed, 2 more collegemates of mine were surprised to see this friend of ours because me, the parents of one of the collegemates and this Japanese planned this surprise event. Haha. And then we had lunch at the same place I brought my friend to last week. The waiter was smiling like what people do in toothpaste advertisement when he saw the sight of me. Later, we did shopping at the cheapest emporium at Masjid Jamed, Mydin. We had dessert later and we did scary faces for my Japanese friend's photo collection. The dinner was so tasty that I would bring my family along next time. I had an ice cream rendezvous after that.

I made a diary of today's event in my mind as I was sitting in the car on the way to Masjid Jamek. I recalled the time where all of us sitting and wonder what our future hold for us once we graduated. Today's event brought me a smile because today we knew the answer to our pondering back in 2005, and we managed to see what our other former collegemates are doing in Japan via my guest's camera. Through her lens, I'm happy to see all my friends doing fine and being happy... the smiles on their face say everything I need to know about my friends' welfare.

I'm happy for all my friends, with or not with them, at this moment. I wish us all the best and may we achieve great things in this world.

Doraemon, I need you

Basically my mind is scattered with too many topics to blog. Most likely also because I was bored to death today. And I got this crazy craving for ice cream.

You're a very interesting person... but not many people know you enough to realize it.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

The last sentence is very true about me.

I remember sharing my concern with my Internationalism lecturer about globalization and food security. I remember reading this part in my textbook about how cheap food import is compared to local production in some countries, if I'm not mistaken some African countries, and I told my lecturer that these poor countries should protect their agricultural industry because what will happen one day the importer stops sending these countries' food? Then what are these poor countries going to do when their agricultural industry cannot support 100% of its population? My lecturer just replied I think too much and it would never happen.

Look who is talking now.

The world now is plight food insufficiency. Prices of main food staple skyrocketed and bla bla ... [because I want to sleep now instead of continuing writing... I will the next day].

Good night.

Literati
Monday, April 28, 2008
Not too sure why recently my performance in Literati has dropped. Instead of winning, I have been losing. And my online ranking at Yahoo! has gone down from 1700++ to 1300 at the moment. And I'm foreseeing it to continue to spiral down. Don't know what's wrong. I can remember the words I read from the dictionary. Just the skills of making words I guess. Or maybe I'm just not utilising my brain to the fullest. I'm just playing for the sake of playing. If that's the case, I should just stick to Word Racer where my ranking is still above 1700. Damn. It actually has dropped becaue of this player played while I was in the room not playing and it affected my score. ARGH. I need to increase my ranking!!!

Anyone .. if you want to play literati online with me, please invite me. And Literati is something like Scrabble except some words from Scrabble can't be used in Literati which is a pain in the neck.

Junior woof
Sunday, April 27, 2008
I had a fun day yesterday with my junior and her coursemate.

I took them to eat at a place where only my mum's generation hang out and we ate the stall's signature dish, prawn mee, and Char Hor Fun (a kind of fried noodle ala Cantonese style) because I want them to try out Cantonese food since my junior is Hokkien and from Penang and her coursemate hasn't tasted it before even though she's Kuala Lumpur bred. So it was a brilliant idea. The prawn mee was good and the prawns are really gigantic. And unbelievable the waiter still could remember me since my last visit last Saturday. Haha. And you know what? I'm going back there again with another batch of friends. He must be wondering I must be stalking the stall. But why not? Since that stall is unknown among my generation? As me and my juniors eating, I noticed we were the youngest customers amongst the senior citizens. And I actually didn't know the prawn mee cost a bomb: RM 63. I didn't see that flying and I was guilty because my junior paid the meal!!

Next stop was Petaling Street or known as Chinatown. I took my junior to drink the famous Air Mata Kucing [direct translation would be Cat Tears. Haha. Of course not. You want to make the cat cries so you could get the tears?]. It's actually a kind of Chinese drink. It was good. I will definitely go back there again for the drink. And I will be going back there again next week.

Later we headed to KLCC. We went to Toys R Us but it was very disappointing because my junior could not find her Star Wars collectibles. So we headed to Aquaria. It was horrible. There were too many visitors especially kindergarten and primary kids. Imagine the whole place is infested by them. No offence but then I thought this kind of aquaria or zoo has quota of visitors so the animals in closures won't feel stress? I was surprised because there was an influx of visitors at the counters. We saw some sharks, alright but it's just OK to me. Then we headed to San Francisco because my left knee was giving me problem and I was having difficulty in walking. And my junior's psychic power broke my umbrella. Haha. So we chilled at the coffee chain for 2 hours actually.

We went to Kinokuniya for books. I found some books I want but still fickle minded if I want to buy them at Kino instead of MPH.

We actually wanted to drink but my juniors were still stuffed since lunch and I was hungry! So I had a Belgian Choc waffle with them. I really frightened my juniors with my appetite. I didn't stop eating since lunch until that moment.

And then guess what? I came back finding out I got a second round of dessert waiting for me at home. I ate it anyway and found my appearance skin is much smoother the next morning.

Envy me all you want! Coz I ate Chinese dessert that has aloe vera, snow frog glands and other ingredients that promote youthful skin. HAHA.

Renaye, long live!
