Smiles always

This photo is taken on the 8 December 2011 at 3 pm-ish. This picture will be very memorable to me because mostly everyone on board was having sea sick and I were on the ship deck enjoying my cup of Milo in solitary until my friends joined me. The waves on that day were so rough, and coincidentally I was so irritated that I could just scratch anyone near me. That's simply because I have not had spent time with myself. And when the organiser had a free day (no activities day) for all the participants on board, I was looking forward to enjoy the sea breeze and the rocky waves, but responsibilities kept me on my toes. Whatever, as usual, renaye did her own way, which is to enjoy her day, and suffer later. BWAHAHA.

By the way, renaye did get sea sick on that date because she was busy typing some letters and preparing some Xmas gift on the computer. Luckily, I recovered from my seasick within 30 mins after taking the seasick medicine.

Lesson learnt: Never ever try reading or typing when you are riding on the rough waves.

Hakodate Homestay!
Friday, October 28, 2011
I thought I won't need to give speeches as an AYL, but I had to! And I was cheering my Youth Leader to give his best when he gave his in Saga.

When I arrived in Hakodate for my homestay, the National Leader from Myanmar, approached me to give a speech, and I have to say yes. Anyways, amongst of all speeches, I had the easiest. The gist is to say thank you for hosting the participants. Somewhat I felt lucky because I have written a similar speech for my profile book. I asked the translator how long my speech should be, and she said simply the shorter the better. So I said candidly I will make it one minute. And she replied GOOD. So be it.

My fellow SG members from other countries commented positively, so did the translator who said it was short and sweet and the pronunciation was good.

(Here's a picture of my SG members during our homestay matching reception).

It was great to receive such feedback. Thinking back... how come I'm calm and not rushing through my words when giving speeches but not during normal conversation?

Tidbits: I'm still keeping my speech paper. =)

Dancing butterfly
Friday. 10.21.11 3:52 am
Sometimes I just have to be careful with not only what I wish but what I think. My new assignment for the moment is to differentiate god granting my wish and premonition. Certain things I saw in my mind or feel came true during my quarantine.

I have wanted to dance the Ethnic Borneo, but was not chosen. I like the dance because I like its gentle movement, albeit I'm not flexible in dancing. But I'm somehow very grateful that I have basic dancing knowledge.

As you all know I'm in quarantine, practicing a 75-minute dance within 4 days. One of the dances is Ethnic Borneo; I thought I'm not going to dance it since I'm not chosen for a port-of-call performance which is also Ethnic Borneo. But because I was passing by the choreographer who was about to conduct the training, he asked me to be in. Oh well, I was thrill nonetheless. And I really enjoy my dances.

I also need to ask the choreographer why I was chosen to lead 3 opening performances, and I got so pressured because I'm slow in catching the entering tune.

Sigh. I will do my best! Ganbare!

Away~
Friday. 10.14.11 7:39 pm
I will be flying off to Japan in 8 days time as a Malaysian Youth Ambassador. I wonder how would I feel on the 25th in the plane. Excited? No idea. Don't wanna think about it. Just bring it on!

I will be having homestay in Hakodate, the south of Hokkaido. How fortunate is that? I hope my Japanese Yen is enough to last me throughout my stay there.

I will be away for two months, but I will be updating this blog every now and then. So please help me to click on the ads!!!

Thank you!
