Contesty Things!
This spot is totally for all of the "post a link on your page/blog/thing to enter the contest!" sorts of things. I WILL WIN! Stalking!
My 3DS friend code is 1676-3752-0625, and here is my Mii QR : | Massa's in de cold, cold ground Saturday. 9.8.07 10:31 am I went to the VT auction today, because I wanted some crap. Dave told me to take his car... Harrowing experience, getting out of the parking lot. I got there, one crap that I wanted was shitty. Decided not to get it. Then I find out that the other item had been listed incorrectly, and didn't even exist! I got there at 8.50, and I left at 9.10, maybe. Apparently Evil White Thweatt is named Ross. Go figure. I still think EWT is more funny. I came back, and the spot I had vacated was taken, so I parked in the driveway. We can move the car later. I went to the church yardsale, that's also today. I ended up buying two kerry/edwards pins from 2004 (wonder where I put them), four books for learning Russian (I can totally be Komrade Yessika now, especially with my super-Soviet "fur" hats... :D), and... a Piano music book. It comes with lyrics, but not under the music, which I think is silly. I wasn't going to get the book, but then as I was flipping through it, I saw a song entitled "Massa's in de cold, cold ground". Couldn't leave the book there, obviously. Here's some old versions of it. Here are the lyrics: 'Round de meadows am a-ringing De darkie's mournful song, While de mockign bird am singing, Happy as de day am long. (Refrain) Down in de corn field Hear dat mournful sound; All de darkes am a-weeping Massa's in de cold, cold ground. Comment! (3) | Recommend! I return for a bitching. Friday. 9.7.07 12:07 pm I'm completely tired of people saying "us" when they talk to the news. I'm sorry, last I knew, some random person was not the same as me. No, I don't want to talk to the news. No, I'm not jealous of whatever. It's always annoyed me when people say "us", when it's really just them that thinks a certain way. Yeah, it's nice that "we're" moving on. It's great that there was a free concert, which will "help us move on." I'm pretty sure that people that were super-close to the people that died are still having trouble. Yeah, "moving on," maybe, but when something so sudden happens, I'm sure it's a bit of a shock that's pretty hard to get over. I can't speak for them, I was only semi-close, but even still. I never quite understood what got into people so they would try to speak for 24,999 other people. With that many people, there's bound to be people who don't care, or feel completely different. Stupid people. *grumble* Comment! (1) | Recommend! An amusement. Thursday. 8.30.07 1:03 pm I love how the school panel says that they weren't at fault. I love how Kaine's panel comes in a few days later: You fucked up. Now Stegersaurus is having a press conference. "Nuh uh! Well... maybe just a little. I don't think we did anything wrong at all." See?Stegersaurus doesn't want to lose his supercushy job. He wants to sit back, and reap the awesomeness without the work. Bastard. Gotta love VT, never willing to take responsibility for anything. I told HP that I'm going to wait until a few more keys fall off, because sending my computer to California for a week for ONE LOUSY KEY!!! is ridiculous. -1 Hp, -1. Wait. The following just ensued: Rita: Unfortunately, it is not possible to replace a single key on the key board. You need to replace the entire key board as the key is integrated part of key board. Me: Yes, I would like a replacement keyboard. Rita: Unfortuantely, the key board is not covered under warranty part to ship it to you. You need to send the notebook to HP service for the key board to be replaced. Me: There's no way I can replace it myself and ship it back to you? Me: the old one, that is? Rita: Unfortunately, no. You need to ship the notebook to HP service. Me: Hrm. All for one lousy key. :/ I think I'll wait until a few more fall off. Thanks for your help. Rita: I can understand your concern Me: A quick question, though, is there any reason it isn't a user-serviceable part? Rita: But I tried to help you with in my support boundaries. Me: Yes, I know, I appreciate that. I'm just a bit amused, that's all. Rita: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/03/20/key-fell-off-keyboard/ Rita: Please go through the above web link to know how to fix keys on hp notebooks. -10, Hp, - 10. I said at the beginning that the mechanism on the key itself was broken. AAAAGH! Rita: I have a better option to send the notebook to HP service where the notebook would be repaired at free of cost. Would you like me set up the notebook for free mail in repair? - 5! She's trying to make it sound like they're doing it out of the goodness of their heart, not that I paid 350 dollars for a super-duper drop-kick-it-if-it-angers-you warranty! You know I'm a loser when I think "I should totally go whine to consumerist". Probably not a loser, just a whiny so and so who thinks I'm entitled to things. Comment! (6) | Recommend! GRRR++ Thursday. 8.23.07 4:03 pm I decided to force add a class. I didn't get it. They decide to move the class, after I've signed up for another and don't particularly care to take it anymore. Oh well... no big deal, I guess. I bought a turkey breast. I put it in the fridge to thaw so it would be ready by the time I get back from class. I get back, IT'S STILL SOLID! I read the directions (which are on the very inside of the packaging), and they say that I should have put it out two days ago... GRR. You'd THINK that they'd put *some* instructions on the outside, so that you know what to do with it when you go to thaw it. Time for an angry email... Comment! (9) | Recommend! I'll say this now. And then some! Monday. 8.20.07 1:14 pm But because I'm going to say it, I'm going to hate this class. The book for numerical methods seems to cover interesting/fun material. I hope the teacher isn't shit. :/ I was standing there, peering at the new books, all shiny and shrink-wrapped. I didn't want to buy a new book for 122.?? dollars, so I pondered and stood. Then the clerk comes up with a used book! So I bought it. To random: that's a little bit on the pricey side for a book. But it has so much knowledge! It's not as cool as my calculator of math for a dollar. I went to the class, and the teacher shows us a video of him playing Wii sports. I think I'm going to enjoy this class. Comment!
