Blog linkie doodads! Chatterbox | Some grumbles. Tuesday. 8.28.07 10:41 pm My down key has fallen off. HP doesn't ship keyboards as user-serviceable parts. Dell sends out keyboards as user serviceable parts. I told HP that I'm going to wait until a few more keys fall off, because sending my computer to California for a week for ONE LOUSY KEY!!! is ridiculous. -1 Hp, -1. Wait. The following just ensued: Rita: Unfortunately, it is not possible to replace a single key on the key board. You need to replace the entire key board as the key is integrated part of key board. Me: Yes, I would like a replacement keyboard. Rita: Unfortuantely, the key board is not covered under warranty part to ship it to you. You need to send the notebook to HP service for the key board to be replaced. Me: There's no way I can replace it myself and ship it back to you? Me: the old one, that is? Rita: Unfortunately, no. You need to ship the notebook to HP service. Me: Hrm. All for one lousy key. :/ I think I'll wait until a few more fall off. Thanks for your help. Rita: I can understand your concern Me: A quick question, though, is there any reason it isn't a user-serviceable part? Rita: But I tried to help you with in my support boundaries. Me: Yes, I know, I appreciate that. I'm just a bit amused, that's all. Rita: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/03/20/key-fell-off-keyboard/ Rita: Please go through the above web link to know how to fix keys on hp notebooks. -10, Hp, - 10. I said at the beginning that the mechanism on the key itself was broken. AAAAGH! Rita: I have a better option to send the notebook to HP service where the notebook would be repaired at free of cost. Would you like me set up the notebook for free mail in repair? - 5! She's trying to make it sound like they're doing it out of the goodness of their heart, not that I paid 350 dollars for a super-duper drop-kick-it-if-it-angers-you warranty! You know I'm a loser when I think "I should totally go whine to consumerist". Probably not a loser, just a whiny so and so who thinks I'm entitled to things. Comment! (5) | Recommend! GRRR++ Thursday. 8.23.07 4:03 pm I decided to force add a class. I didn't get it. They decide to move the class, after I've signed up for another and don't particularly care to take it anymore. Oh well... no big deal, I guess. I bought a turkey breast. I put it in the fridge to thaw so it would be ready by the time I get back from class. I get back, IT'S STILL SOLID! I read the directions (which are on the very inside of the packaging), and they say that I should have put it out two days ago... GRR. You'd THINK that they'd put *some* instructions on the outside, so that you know what to do with it when you go to thaw it. Time for an angry email... Comment! (7) | Recommend! I'll say this now. And then some! Monday. 8.20.07 1:14 pm But because I'm going to say it, I'm going to hate this class. The book for numerical methods seems to cover interesting/fun material. I hope the teacher isn't shit. :/ I was standing there, peering at the new books, all shiny and shrink-wrapped. I didn't want to buy a new book for 122.?? dollars, so I pondered and stood. Then the clerk comes up with a used book! So I bought it. To random: that's a little bit on the pricey side for a book. But it has so much knowledge! It's not as cool as my calculator of math for a dollar. I went to the class, and the teacher shows us a video of him playing Wii sports. I think I'm going to enjoy this class. Comment! I hate to call race things, but he was such a stereotypical Indian (in the bad and horrible way), it wasn't even funny. You won't believe it! (He says this all the time) Basically (dragged out, he also says this all the time), everyone is stupid, he is awesome and he needs to give orders and know EVERYTHING. He completely ignored any instructions given by myself or the general bigwigs of the program. He was just fucking awful. I complained to Anne, she eventually came by, and she and Joyce witnessed the douchery first hand. I talked to her later about recommending him for something, I told her I just couldn't knowing his attitude/personality. Then she and Joyce brings up the fact that he has a thick accent and lisp, and combined with his attitude, it's not good for service. I felt better that they had said that, and weren't just trying to say "oh it's a personality conflict". He offended everyone else on the team, ffs! We were clocking out, and when we were asked about who was working the second half, I said that only one person was, and he looked offended and left. I can't say I'm all that upset, there's no way I could recommend him and feel alright with myself. Comment! (1) | Recommend! *blink* Friday. 8.17.07 1:47 am There's some drama going on right now, I'm not going to post about it just yet. I am, however, going to post entries from my local police blotter. "Provonda Nicolette Banks, 21, of the 700 block of Harding St., Petersburg, was charged with capias: contempt of court on July 17." - I can only assume that this person's mother liked provolone cheese and cigarettes. "Monique Deirriere Epps, 19, of the 10700 block of Quaker Road, Dinwiddie, was charged with fail to appear on misdemeanor charge on July 13." - You KNOW this is pronounced like French for bum. "Krystal Leymone King, 22, of the 900 block of Wills Road, Petersburg, was charged with fail to appear on misdemeanor charge on July 17." - I went to school with a Krystal King. She should have been younger than me, though. "Letisha Leshae Lethridge, 21, of the 4000 block of Midlothian Tnpk., Richmond, was charged with forging, uttering and grand larceny on July 12." - Do they call her LeLeLe? Le-cubed? I don't think black people are that smart to make a math joke like that... :/ That's all I have for now. Also, non-drama. Dani calls me today and asks me to help her bake a cake... for her ceramics lab. No icing on said cake. I REALLY don't understand why a lab needs a cake, but I am VERY curious to find out. Maybe it's an exercise in how most types of ceramics are the same? Many people will probably make a white/yellow cake. I hope she chooses something awesome... FUNFETTI! Dani, if you read this, get an unusual cake mix and some sprinkles. I wanna make a sprinkle cake. Comment! (5) | Recommend! Oh dear. Tuesday. 8.14.07 8:16 am So I've done my hair. No pictures, no point. *shrug*. I need to go press it and overall take care of it now. I just realized that one of my most amusing shirts that says "Bamn!" with some sort of definition about freedom, is actually a exceedingly black-powerrific shirt. Bamn: by-any-means-necessary Oh well. Still a cool shirt. Comment! (7) | Recommend!
