blogging between my lunch time.

i know i know its used in almost every single entry

'been busy ....'

anyway had a long weekend last week.
- watched Leap of Love on fri, purely and solely for Ananda Everingham
- check in Park Royal on Sat afternoon, a night of pinky balloons, hello kitty party kits, pizzas, booze, wine and smoke.
- check out on Sun *KO*
- took leave on mon in case i was KO longer than usual, poses as make-up artist and studio assistant for my lil sister (we will come to that)
- free dinner at night : ) (thanks)

all these above will be accompanied by pics because im lazy to type more, and the pics will eventually take another day cuz im lazy to edit and upload them all in one day.

so looking forward to dinner with girlie later (munching on my hawaii pizza)

Been ot-ing like mad since last week. everyday starts at 9 and ends at 9.

Decided i need a break on sun, i ripped open my ang baos, stuff the cash into my pocket, went down to vivo and in a matter of mins i bought 80 bucks worth of Kiehls products.

i admit its kidda impulsive cuz im a religious product user, prefer to stick to what i usually use...but lately i enjoy buying what we always call the 'non-visible' stuffs, small things like 3M Nexcare Acne Patch (it swear its damn good) unlike bags, shoes, clothes etc.. i get excited from the lil wonders these lil things perform

caught The Diving bell and the Butterfly yesterday night and the story, the movie have been replaying in my head since

The film is base on a memoir of Jean-Dominique Bauby, the editor-in-chief of french Elle magazine. At age 42 Bauby, a man who loved life with a passion woke up after a stroke to find himself lock in a body that is paralyze from head to toe. His brain is intact, while one eye is sew shut to prevent from drying, he is left to communicate by blinking his one good eye.

The memoir was completed with him blinking when the correct letter was reached by his translator, who slowly recite the alphabet over and over. Its not in a blink but 200,000 blinks that Bauby gave us this beautiful, gut-wrenching story that till now had got me into emo trips. I can't believe the extrodinary will it took him to finish.

The title The Diving Bell and The Buttferfly came because Bauby feels like a man trapped in a diving suit that keep sinking, yet he says there are two things not paralysed --- "my imagination and my memory " (my fav and most memorable part of the movie, hence the butterfly of the title)

Loved that the film is not filled with the usual hollywood cliche's self pity and sentiment, instead Bauby was filmed with a quiet dignity. There is witty humour throughout and colorful montages filled with things he loves as well as his imagination. The director had turn self pity into joy as a tribute to the unbreakable spirit Bauby carried with him till the very last breath.

Caught my first ever play in esplanade theater tonight.

Was supposed to catch it yesterday but guess what?! superblur me mixed up the date and when sistic called me at 8pm yesterday while i was working overtime, the play had already started. Maybe its a blessing in disguise, after much begging to the sistic officer (they have a NO refund, exchange and cancellation policy) i managed to get 3 of the empty seats in those private box right in front of the stage. haiz 真是傻人有傻福

The play is great, really didnt expect to enjoy it so much. What is Man 現代水滸傳, inspired by the Chinese classics we know, is an exploration of masculinity in the modern man. They are only here for two days so now you might need to fly to Taiwan to catch it.

happy chinese new year everyone....

i only have time to write this because im currently AT WORK. An sms from a least favourable colleague on the 1st day of chinese new yr, stating her husband got into an accident and she blah blah blah u get the picture (im super evil to say this but she had asked me to cover for her weeks ago)

so here i am

im someone whose a slave to my heart, my brain tells me the right things but my heart over rides everything

i absoutely hates it sometimes

anyway that aside been real busy this cny. visiting and be visited, i enjoy watching my mum going up and down in and out the house. never seen any mother who takes pride in her cooking as much as her, we practically have a lunch station at my place, relatives all stop for lunch here before going off to their next stop.

as her daughters, we will eventually suffer when we put that office pants on on the coming monday.

going soon! yet another feast at my place this evening with the girls and sista friends
