just recently finish How Starbucks Save My Life.



Many might see the book as just a marketing/recruitment tool for this mega coffee chain that famously overcharged their coffee, but what I see is really a touching and courageous journey of a man. A man like Micheal Gates Gill, who once served the CEOs of Ford and Christian Dior, who headed a department of america's most famous advertising firm, who once had lunched with the Queen and whose childhood consisted of hanging out with his father's famous authors friends. He is just so privileged that you wouldnt imagine him serving someone a cup of coffee, cleaning up the tables, taking out the trash, taking instructions from someone more than half his age, or cleaning the toilet. Yet he did, and he was 63.

The book really show how a person's attidude can determind a person's life. Life put us through so many situations which you probably can never imagine, but when comes a day you have to face reality, do you escape it or make yourself face it with the right attitude?

Its always easier said than done. When comes the ending of the book, I remembered being really touched. Touched by the fact that this is a true story and the author was a 63 year old man, touched that at the last quarter of his life he finally found himself, touched that he has overcome what he did with the courage I doubt myself ever having.
