paranormal activity
Tuesday. 11.17.09 1:41 am
those in my facebook probably saw my news feed on last sat night. its reads:

Pam Wong walked out of the movie paranormal activity to vomit

totally weak -_-

30 mins into the movie i started feeling nausea from the shaky images and it didn't help that i just had dinner before the show. Anyway i walked out of the movie when its starting to get real spooky and waited at mac for my sis and cousin to finish it, all the time still feeling sick in the stomach. Caught the rest of the movie online, damnnnn it would have been really scary if im watching in the theater. anywayz...no more hand-held-camera-films for me ever again. I threw up after watching Blair Witch Project 10 years ago and this movie just reconfirm my weakness.

watching the movie reminds of my own paranormal experience many years ago when i was in poly. Not someone who is sensitive to the surroundings, i sleep well at friends place, chalets, hotels and is usually the last one to detect anything weird, so the incident really freaks me out.

I remember having my 8am morning lesson at this really old block in my campus. (if you are from singapore poly and reading this, it was T8 i think, behind foodcourt 3) having caught a ride from my dad i was there at 7.20am. It was way early and there wasn't a single soul at the block, the class was at level 3, so naturally, i took the lift w/o thinking much.

The lifts are especially slow and old in this block, it had those dim white florescent lights and metal surface for all 4 walls, its wide, in fact it look like a hospital lift. Still trying to sober up from waking up early, I enter the empty lift, pressed level 3 and waited...it was upon reaching level 1 (i was at B1) that i heard it.

Just right behind me, i heard this airy man voice calling 'Peifen...peifen.....'
If you're wondering who the hell is Peifen, its is my chinese name and nobody calls me that in poly that time!! I swear at the exact moment i feel my blood totally sucked out of me, i knew that 'something' was just right behind and for whatever it is, its trying to urge me to turn back. Unfortunately or fortunately i was too terrified to move at all, I just stood there for what seems like forever while it went on calling my chinese name and when the lift did open at level 3, i couldn't move. no shit i just stood there while the lift door remain open. Up till now i don't really know how i manage to will myself out of the lift before it closes, but i did.

once i stepped out i saw one of my geeky classmate not far from the lift and man i run to him, im not sure whether he ever experience a girl running to him like hes ben affleck in Armageddon, but that morning i was doing a Liv Tyler run to him. i made him stay with me until the class opens and people started walking in before i let him off.

anyway that was my one and only experience that i have to share whenever people start whipping out their paranormal experiences, which is totally fine with me because that is one thing that i wish i have nothing to share.

ps: i was spooked by my own chinese name for sometime after that

the things about getting older:

- you begin to start spending more money on vitamins and health supplements, and find yourself stopping outside a KFC joint instead of walking in

- tubes and bottles of face/hair products being to line up in front of your bathroom mirror

- you cry at movies but become more immune to real life tragedy

- your coffee in-take increases dangerously

- you dread checking your letter box, the number of mails you get seems to grow with your age

- you have 'confirm' who are you lifelong friends thus spending lesser time being a social butterfly then you were before (im seriously so stuck in my comfort zone im not meeting new ppl. how man! * spinster-ville calling*)

- you dont have time and don't want to go through the steps to create/insert ringtone into your iphone (which is the most stupid feature on the really smart phone)

i always wonder what the hell are these ugly emoticons everytime i browse through nutang similes archive...

until a few days ago i watched Princess Mononoke that i realized they are kodamas the tree spirits! and they are super adorable inside the anime! I suspect the creator of nutang was a fan of Princess Mononoke that time because the nutang logo with the green apes looks kinda like the tree planting apes into the anime too.

the kodamas in Princess Mononoke. kawaiiii!

Kodama appear most famously in the animated film Princess Mononoke, in which they are portrayed as small, white humanoids with large, rattling heads and mask-like features.

Miyazaki is genius !

should i be worrying im staying in one of the top 3...

Countries with the Biggest Gaps Between Rich and Poor

No. 2 Singapore
Gini score: 42.5
GDP 2007 (US$ billions): 161.3
Share of income or expenditure (%)
Poorest 10%: 1.9
Richest 10%: 32.8
Ratio of income or expenditure, share of top 10% to lowest 10%: 17.7

Singapore is one of the world's most open economies, and it suffered badly following the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers last year. Recently, though, the city-state's economy has rebounded, with GDP growing an annualized 14.9% rate in the third quarter compared with the previous quarter.
<--- yea and the bosses still says we are in a recession and continue to squeeze us whenever whatever they can.
