The countdown begins.

And we've graduated! Officially..

The past few days/weeks' been spent in school attending revision lectures and slogging it out in the library/reading room. Its not easy, especially when I can't for the life of me seem to remember all the freaking mechanisms, reagents and inorganic equations and what not for Chemistry. Imagine, 4 subjects and I'm not that outstanding in anyone of them. That means I have to work on every subject, and not have the luxury to focus on one/two particularly bad ones.

Had Dim Sum for our last CT session on Thursday. Received the Prelims transcript as well. The days just seem to be flying by rather quickly these days...

What a bummer.. LOL.

So apparently Youtube decided to be nice and deleted it. This copyright thingy is getting rather ridiculous.

Oh well, hope you all had a good laugh over it. Haha

If only I could turn back time
Friday. 10.16.09 12:57 am
=/
I'm sorry for bringing it all up again.. inadvertently..

The passage of time has not healed the wounds completely.. yet.
Even then, the scars would still remain..

However will we allow it be an impediment or a trophy commemorating our triumph against all odds acting as a testament to our inner strength.

I endured, and overcame, by God's grace.
Rejection, disappointment, anguish, despair, anger, hatred etc.

Only when we search ourselves and decide to let go can we really move on.
A few years on, and these things which had so consumed us emotionally in the past will only serve to act as a poignant memorial and a silent reminder.

Regrets.. Everyone has them. Yet it is the future that matters. The past is set, the future is becoming history. Only the future awaits, and we have the power to mould it to our heart's desires, for the better.

If I can overcome the ghosts of my past, I believe you can too.. (:

And I was too insensitive, once again. =/

Will you forgive me?

Looking back.. and plotting the way forward
Wednesday. 10.14.09 12:02 am
I was reading through my tags and linking them to the posts which they made reference to in an attempt to revisit my past and go through the thought processes I'd experienced. (Yes, I do save tags in a Word document.. Lol.)

And they come back vividly in double-quick time. Instantaneously. Guess our memories are all actually stored somewhere. All it needs is a trigger to open the floodgates.

There had been many people who had made my J1 life so much more enjoyable and meaningful. I guess Pre-U 1 is always a sort-of 'honeymoon period' whereby we live life to the fullest and do just enough to be promoted and stay with the same bunch of friends.

Yet again, by the time Block Test 2 and Prelim are just round the corner, I couldn't help but to realise that just like radioactive nuclei of heavy metal ions, the bonds holding the members together diminish over time, causing our own p/n ratio to drop to an optimal level whereby we are just content with the number of close friends we have and cast out the net no more.

Just an observation which has come to pass in every single class I'd been in. I am thankful though that r/s in my current class of 2 years are still rather taut as compared to other class, bar a rogue member here or there. At least having hydrogen and weak VDW forces are better than being an ideal gas with large swathes of vacuum separating each molecule.

Over the next few weeks we still have left together as a class (one more week exactly, since next Wed is Graduation Day), I hope that our bonds will not be stretched further - and that our dipoles will somehow lead us to a common point such that post-graduation, we can still be proud to say that the spirit of 08S6A still lives on, despite we having gone our separate ways pursuing different dreams and vocations in different countries and cultures altogether.

It is also the last few weeks that the PRCs will still be walking amongst us (except T^2 and Silu for obvious reasons). Not that they had betrayed anything that seems to suggest that they'll miss us - nonetheless they have been a part of us, even if our paths rarely collide in and out of school.

We have the choice to choose how we want to live out the remaining weeks of school life together. Sure mugging is important, but let's not allow the stress and pressure to snatch away the memories of yesteryears. (or months).

Maybe the next time I look back at my tagboard archives I can actually find more reasons to smile. Not a half-hearted smile but a smile that comes with the realization that I had managed to make many good friends in my 2 years (:

(Random names on tagboard do not count! I don't know a real life 'sometwo' or 'random') =P

Stay strong

This webpage is not available.

The webpage at http://www.facebook.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Google Chrome ftw. LOL.

Prelim results are out on ISP. Grim reading actually. Only GP was in top 30%. Hai.

Must work harder!
we all "needs to buck up! >.<"

Strength without determination means nothing, and determination without strength is equally useless - Godo, FFVII

"Now! This is it! NOW is the time to choose.Die, and be free of pain; or LIVE, and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories. Your fate is in your hands!" - Auron, FFX

So don't be emo k? Fight the good fight, and endure til the end (:
We will get there... Alive, definitely. Haha.

Must it always be..
Friday. 11.8.09 12:03 am
.. that the rush for good results will almost inevitably stretch relations between classmates and friends to breaking point?

Or is it an outward expression induced by the pressure-cooker environment that we all live in?

"Some of you thrived, whilst some of you bowed under the pressure." (Remedios, 2009 - prior to return of Physics)

Just what is a "good" result? Should we be overly fixated on the grade that we just chuck aside everything else and become slaves of your own creation?

There are only 30 odd days left. Time to put aside the disappointment and try to learn from others who have scored better. And also for us to reflect and work on our weaknesses.

For me, its a struggle to keep my thoughts in tandem with question requirements for written papers. For the sciences and maths I still could not comprehend how I could have did so badly in the hall when the questions themselves were mostly doable outside exam conditions. Maybe its the lack of practice? (although 2 years worth of prelim papers and revision packages later the grade remained stagnant.)

Can't help but stifle an ironic smirk when I typed that. Give me the O's anytime man.

This is a situation which we students get drawn into every semester. Is it a unique phenomena that only those under our 'meritocratic' and 'progressive' education system and pedagogy will experience?

One last hurdle, and all these dilemmas and ill-feelings will be consigned to history for eternity. All the best (:

Last day of post-prelim slacking
Monday. 10.5.09 4:53 pm
Currently using @AttitudedJon's laptop to type up this post, and am facing a conundrum similar to the one I faced in the library a while back. At least this time I have @WilliamHaw who was making random comments while playing Medivial II: Total War for the past 4 hours.

We were supposed to mug. In the end the only things we did that were worthy of note was to watch @RisLow's spoofs and The Onion. Hm. There's no slack days after today though - the torture that is getting back our remaining papers commence tmr at 11pm.

Oh, we found a good place to bowl also near @memoriesintime's place that costs only $2 per game from 11am to 2pm. The lanes were well-oiled (too well-oiled in my opinion) and it was quite empty given its secluded in the middle of seemingly nowhere. Good place to hang out =P

(Oh the joy of Twittering! I wonder why there are so many random people adding me though. Viral/spam accounts?)

The ball kept sliding all over the place, and after screwing up with a paltry score of 48 pins in the first game, I found some resemblance of form (or simply just pure luck) and hit the lanes for 104 along with Aaron the pro who had hit a 152 the previous Friday at Marina Square. Haha. Funnn (:

And now one more person has been enlightened about the existence of this reclusive page hosted on a server that no one has ever heard of. Good. Can keep prying eyes off what you post.

So.. hm, limit access to a few people may be the best way that allows for you to really post unabashedly on issues online. Just remember not to go overboard. And, somethings are really best discussed on MSN or Skype (:

Jiayou for those rushing their tuition homework! Jtay is still staring at Chem while William has had another family member assassinated by the enemy. Promises to be a good evening ahead.

Oh, and did anyone see the 6-2 mauling of Blackburn by Arsenal? Its a must-see. A total masterclass indeed. It is so appropriate coming on the day where Wenger became the club's longest serving manager (14 years) and many dignitaries and former players were present to see him take on the first club he had faced in the beginning. Fantastic.

Just like now the Aussies blasted England to oblivion by nine wickets with a combined 252 not-out by the opening partnership.

Sport never fail to surprise all of us. Really. Just when we thought we had seen it all.. Haha.
