The top left corner of each picture is darkened because of a bad drop when my son fell while running with the camera. Ever since then, he "officially" took over this camera to be his to explore photography.





























These 3 are not taken by him, that's why it's not as good as the others :P but the subject of the picture is still very lovely! the many expressions of my youngest daughter, ariel :)

With the recent disasters happening in Myanmar and China, I cannot but feel how fortunate we are in Singapore and how precious my family and friends are... I realised I have been hugging and kissing my wife and kids more often these days...

while others are concerned about life and death, I realised I was concerned about minor matters that does not really make a big difference in my life at all... how pathetic my values in life have become...

I felt a strong need to help in whatever ways I can but the massive scale of destruction and sufferings makes me ponder and feeling lost as to how I can really play my little part effectively in helping...

with the completion in my own reading of the chronicles of narnia, I felt all the more that our earth is not a very homely place to stay in anymore... I long for the real "narnia", the new heaven and earth as promised by the Lord in the book of Revelation... I long to be with Him so that there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying and no more pain, for the former things will pass away and each chapter will be better than the one before...

I felt that the days are drawing to an end pretty soon, at least what is happening now is beginning to fulfill the prophecy mentioned by the Lord about 2000 years ago:

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be FAMINES, PESTILENCES and EARTHQUAKES in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows... and because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations and then the end will come. (Mat. 24:9, 12-14)

life is so fragile... are you prepared to face eternity when disaster strikes?

Today is Ekklesia's 5th birthday! She was so excited about it! Going around, opening her palm and saying 5! We will finally be giving her what she asked for a long time ago: inline skates.

I heard this from my company's seminar in Bangkok. thought it was really funny so I decided to write it here now that I remember it.

a lawyer decided to be in the undertaking business because he thinks that it is the best business to go into for the following reasons:

1. The person who buys (the coffin) from you will not bargain with you about the price. you won't want the limbs to be sticking out because of a discount!

2. The person who uses it don't even know that he is using it. you won't receive any complaints even if it feels uncomfortable!

3. There is no after sales service calls. you won't want to receive one, would you?

When the coffin is being lowered for burial, you can see some small words engraved at the side of the coffin: we are the last to "let you down"...

I was tossing in bed last night, not able to sleep very well because my body is still regulating itself to be back to normal. I was perspiring furiously, having to change 3 t-shirts because they were soaking wet because of my perspiration. Unable to sleep, the thought of writing this short poem just came into my mind:

A mother's love is relentless like the tides,
she never stops bringing new waves of it everyday.

A mother's hands are skillful like the beavers',
she fixes the leaks and cracks in our dams.

A mother's feet are firm like the roots of a tree,
she stands her ground to protect us from falling into danger.

when I have time to think of more, I will continue... :)

Meanwhile, I salute all mothers for their great role in our lives and especially towards my own mother and my wife!

shutdown day was more of breakdown days to me...

my computer was shut down for many days...

because I "broke down" with my son on high fever and cough and runny nose...

in fact, the aircon compressor and one of my ceiling fans in my house broke down too...

the ear thermometer also, for half-a-day when it dropped into the bucket of water used for sponging us to bring down the temperature...

shutting down now... need a good rest once again
