Acceptance...
Tuesday. 2.13.07 10:39 pm

Soem students are rather disappointed with their CL results because they did not receive what they expected, especially those who usually do well and helped their friends along the way and ended up not faring as well as the friends they helped.

Under such circumstances, the best thing to learn is ACCEPTANCE. to simply cry your heart out and be brave to accept the results as it is and move on with life... Don't ever lose heart! your results is just a reflection of your PAST performance, NOT a prediction/indicator of your FUTURE! We are not God who knows the future. Life is a journey and no one knows how you will turn out eventually. How you turn out simply depend on what you do with your life NOW! Not doing well or even failing DOES NOT make you a failure! it's not the number of times you fall (or fail) but the number of times you get up after each fall that really matters! Champions are not those who never fail but those who never quit! If there is anything else that I would like to say to my students, it is to GET UP and NEVER GIVE UP! I scored a C6 for english and B4 for Chi for O levels but I did not lose heart... If I did, I don't think I would have gotten what God has enabled me to achieve today: a honours and masters degree! :D

Be like a ball, the harder you are struck down, the higher you will rebounce!

* being able to help a.l to get her disposable contact lens and encourage her not to lose hope in her cca!

* knowing that so many of my students managed to get distinctions for O levels CL

* being able to accompany and encourage some of the people in my class as they received their O levels CL results!

* being able to encourage t.l when she was so disappointed with her grades...

* being able to cheer hard for the softballers even though they are up against a tough opponent!

* knowing that rebe is now composed about her results

* being able to cook beef pasta for dinner for my whole family!

Tues, Wed, Thurs... what made my days
Thursday. 2.8.07 10:11 am
life has been busy but I am enjoying it day by day...

* being able to read the purpose driven life with rebe

* being able to conduct the test with 4/4 without any invigilator (i needed to leave early for the softball match)! a showcase of integrity!

* establishing strong rapport with the softballers and cheering them on with all my heart during the match on wed! being able to share with them a word of encouragement on the way to the match! they won eventually! :D

* seeing the female guppy that Christian is rearing give birth!

* encouraging my students in their performance for physix

* sharing with 4/1 and 4/2 about evolutionist vs creationist

* meeting Merry Riana http://www.merryriana.com.sg personally for a time of mentorship, the author of the entrepreneur book that i bought

* spending time with my kids and sharing with them about the Bible

* going for a 3.2 km run all by myself

* discussing with j.c about evolution and irreducible complexity

* advising j.j again about friendship and personal growth

* realising that c.r.s is fine after she has gone "missing"

Mon... what made my day...
Monday. 2.5.07 9:27 am
* drawing near to God in the morning :D

* finished marking the class test papers!

* spending lunch with rebe to read with her about the purpose driven life (day 1)! To find the right purpose, we got to start from the right point: not ourselves but God! since we are created by Him and for Him, we can only find our purpose from Him!

* conducting CEP with 4/1! I am really glad to give them my 2 cents worth of advice in terms of career options and I am encouraged by the words of encouragement written on my goal setting paper. My goals this year are: to be whom God wants me to be, to be a loving husband, a responsible father and an inspiring teacher!

* cheering for the softball team with all i have got (almost lost my voice while doing it!) - though they lost by a small margin, i sincerely hope that they will not be discouraged! hope to share this with them on wed: champions are not those who never fail but those who never quit! it's so appropriate right now cos they have 2 more matches to go, one of which is against the strongest team in the league.

* being able to physically last through this long day and having the energy to blog it down! :D

see ya tmr!

Sun... what made my day...
Sunday. 2.4.07 4:51 am
* waking up @ 7am to draw near to God

* having a good breakfast

* making my wife smile again

* playing street soccer with the youth brothers in my church

* going for the first month thanksgiving celebrations of my baby cousin-in-law (my kids has an auntie who is only a baby!) - glad to pass the parents a copy of the parenting book "shepherding a child's heart" which provided me with the best parenting method and goal i have ever encountered: the biblical way to raise godly children for His glory!

Sat... what made my day...
Saturday. 2.3.07 7:52 pm
* attending speech and drama class with ariel

* visiting the Love Fiesta carnival @ JJC and seeing so many of my students who graduated from Nan Hua High and some of the students who are still studying there! When they call my name and beam with a smile, it was really heart-warming!

* coming up with a modern day adaptation skit of the life of Job for the YYPM. If you lose all your possessions and loved ones in one day and you are struck down with a disease subsequently, how would you react? for Job, this is what he said "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord." and "Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips in cursing God or saying that He is unfair or having any bittterness or anger towards God. (Job 1:21, 2:10)

* eating the bbq chicken wings from Newton Hawker Centre

* disciplining Christian (my son) with God's wisdom and love for his misbehaviour.
