down but not out!
Sunday. 3.11.07 8:57 pm
my kids are down one after another with a strong viral infection that is affecting their voice box (husky voice), causing them to have frequent surges of high fever (39 and above) and for ariel's case, a fits coming upon her due to the high fever. We have been sponging them day and night, bringing them to see docs, pacifying them at times for their discomfort and sometimes holding them down so that they will take in the medication. This has gone on for about 3 weeks now and they are still fluctuating between being sick and well again. Christian is having his second round of infection from his sisters though he recovered miraculously fast without any medication the first time. Life has been mentally draining and physically tiring for my wife and I. We have to go to work as usual and make sure that there is minimum disruption to others. The kids are down and so are the adults

BUT WE ARE NOT OUT!

we are still able to find peace, strength and encouragement in the Lord Jesus. Yes, there are times of weariness and frustration but when they come, He is there to stand with us and strengthen us. He is so real and living! He is our life!

I still give thanks to Him for whatever that has came upon us and I continue to trust Him for the days ahead!

But we have this treasure (Christ) in earthen vessels (us), that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down but not destroyed... Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
2 Cor. 4:7,8,9,16

it's been a while
Tuesday. 3.6.07 6:27 am
it's been a while since i blogged...

too many things happening in my life that i don't know where to start!

I am just glad that life has been great every day, not because it is smooth going but because I am never alone to face it... His presence is ever with me even when i fumble or make mistakes... even when i did a good job, i am glad it is Him who made the difference... He is my life and that made life all so exciting and interesting each day...

I am just glad to be able to talk to people about simple things in life and about the important things in life...

like spending 2 whole hours to talk to c.y about the "tea" (only he will understand what that means) that he has to choose eventually...

like spending time to talk to my wife about the ups and downs of parenting and praying together for our kids and others

like spending time to talk to my kids and playing with them...

like spending time to cheer for some students who are close to my heart, encouraging them through sms when they win or lose

like spending time to attend cheryl's b.d party and talking to some of them...

like spending time with the people in MSG and YYPM to share about the greater issues in life!

like spending time with the students during lessons...

like smiling and saying hi to my students as I bump into them in school

what made my day...
Sunday. 2.25.07 1:34 am
* we are now pursuing about marriage during YYPM and i was once again reminded that marriage is a covenant, not a contract. To many couples these days, marriage is just a certificate/contract. If a couple does not get along well, they just divorce. They do not realise that their marriage is a covenant with each other and for Christians, it is also towards God, which should not be broken under any circumstances... till death do we part!

* Christian fell sick ytd and was running a high fever (bet 39 to 40.5). When we have to wake him up in the middle of the night to sponge him, he touched my heart when my wife shared that he said that we should pray... He is up and running again right now! Thanks be to God!

* I was driving behind a beautiful white BMW 600 series car when I saw the bumper sticker:

Don't let this car fool you! My treasure is in heaven!

How true indeed! The possessions we have are temporal! how long can we admire something or someone? it's just for couple of years on earth before they grow old and corrupt... we have to be rich in knowing God instead, the One who created all things for us to enjoy! :D

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on Earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where theives do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Mat. 6:19-21

what made my day...
Thursday. 2.22.07 6:05 am
* having so many "super stars" tagging on my tagboard! LOL!

* having my students over on tues for a lunch gathering! no hongbao this year so I hope all of you had an enjoyable lunch @ my place! my apologies for any lack on my part as the host! It was nice seeing some of my ex-students and catching up with them. It was very nice of my students to bring so many goodies and even wine (that I don't drink..) over!

* having a fun time with 1/10 for science on wed...

* talking to "not 3 not 4" about some issues... the air is clear and all is well! :D

* 4/2 getting an A for their class cleanliness! congrats! but I am rather upset that 4/1 obtained a B again! I am honestly sure that they deserve an A*! so I am finding out where we fall short...

* cheering for Hurricanes (softball team) today against NYG! was rather aggressive in my words against the opponent (cos they are our arch rivals) so I apologised halfway to maintain sportsmanship and friendship! :P

hope to upload photos soon...

What made my day...
Friday. 2.16.07 7:22 pm
* being able to make it to cheer for the netball team for their match against BPH and to encourage s.m, w.r and the team not to lose heart but to go on and play their best for the next 2 matches

* class 4/4 coming over to my place for a visit. although it was very short, my whole family enjoyed their presence :D

* being able to see many of my ex-students during the CNY celebrations in school

* getting my customised stamps for teaching after almost 1 year of delay!

* receiving a big card and gifts from the class (thank u, ces and l.w) and from others in 4/2 and 4/4 for valentine's day

* being able to send out an sms to those friends of mine on valentine's day

* spending time with my wife and kids before and on valentine's day. In fact, I enjoy everyday as a valentine's day with them because it's their presence and company that really makes the difference!

* rebe finally getting over her results and moving on fine in her life

* the amusing time of listening and responding to the funny incidents that happened to my colleagues in the staff room. some of the teachers really have a great sense of humour and their encounters with students and teachers are really funny!
