You Smell Funny
quote for the day
"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'"
"A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on earth. "
-- George Bernard Shaw
song of the moment
The Hand That Feeds
You're keeping in step
In the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
Because you do
What you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

What if this whole crusade's
A charade
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood
On which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

So naive
I keep holding on to what I want to believe
I can see
But I keep holding on and on and on and on

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?
Will you stay down on your knees?
So, it has begun

Yup! i'm back in school. classes 5 days a week. fortunately, it isn't too bad. m/w/f are a little busy, but t/th are great. i moved in back on the 14th. got to see most of the fam. then classes started on thursday. doesn't look like i'll be dropping any, but i am trying to change one of my spanish professors. he's working on it, but who knows. i already feel like this is home again. christina and i are perfect for each other. moving in with her was the greatest decision i have ever made. the only problem i foresee in our future will be if one of us starts dating the guy at the end of the hall. he's adorable, so of course, we both like him. procrastination is going to big problem again this year. i can tell already. i should be reading genetics right now. busy last weekend, busy now, prolly busy this weekend. so goes my life.

today is the day is the day is the day
Friday. 8.5.05 8:06 am
Welcome to Friday my dear friends!! Today is the day. Oh, it is I say. Today is the last day of my working summer. (I figure the week I move-in doesn't count because when I move I'll be able to come in whenever I want) Today is the day I have to finish packing up all my crap. (I have only just started yesterday, and I didn't get very far) Today is the day I must pack to go home. (This tends to take me quite some time because I'm paraniod about forgetting things) Today is the day I must wash my car. (Can't go home with it looking like it does - but it's pointless to clean it while I'm here because the sprinkler attacks it everysingle day) And finally - and most excitidedly - today is the day I begin the latest Harry Potter book! And that my friends makes today the day!

I'm crazy, I know. I've spent the past two weeks trying to find little bits of time to read the 4th and 5th Harry Potter books so that I would remeber all the details. Well, this was no easy feat considering I work and there has to be family time and dinner time and shower time and hair time and sleep time. But I read all 1600ish pages. And last night - I finished number 5. I'm sucked in too. I have all this crap I have to do tonight, and all I want to do is find out how in the world Harry Potter will live through it all in this book. And then I will have to wait another 2 years for the next book. Isn't that ridiculous?!?! I don't think work is going to end up being very productive. Hopefully packing wil be relatively easy though. In some ways I have a lot of junk, and in some ways I don't have much at all. That's the first order of business for tonight. Then there's packing to go home and cleaning the bathroom. After that I have sweet sweet freedom. Tomorrow will be busy too. I'm getting up early to go to the early bird sale at Foley's - I still need jeans. Then I have to be down at Holly's by 10 to help set up for the party and occupy Pace. The party goes from 11-1. Then there will be clean up. So I'm out of there by 2ish. Then I make the long long drive home. I'm hopfully there around 5ish. And alas, my week of vacation begins. It will involve Angus and napping. I'm so excited!

and the plot to destroy her commenced
Tuesday. 8.2.05 10:26 am
sandy is trying to kill me. before she was going for the slow painful torture of annoying me to death, but last night she stepped it up a notch. now she's poisoning my food! still painful, but quicker and more efficient. we had kfc last tuesday because grandpa was having a craving. ok, cool, fine with me. last night she took the last few peices and pulled off all the meat and stuck it in some funky gravy. this was meant to be served over pasta with green beans. i only saw that finished product, so the source of everything was unknown to me when we went to get our plates. the chicken peices were fairly small, so i grabbed two peices. sandy decided she would have the catfish from last night (hmmm, odd), but i passed on that because not only did she microwave fish, she microwaved it in the stirofoam (sp?) box!! eww!! (so i will be having none of that at all). now we all sit down and i cut up one of the chicken peices into small bites. take one bite....echh! what the hell is that taste!?!? why is this wrong? so, i ate a few green beans, hoping to get rid of that taste. maybe it's the gravy. so i scrape off all the gravy and try another peice. nope, definitely the chicken. so, i choke down the last few peices, not wanting to offend becuase i thought it was horrible. i shoved the other peice of chicken aside and ate the pasta and green beans. never have green beans tasted so good! well, after looking at the gross peice of chicken on the side of my plate for a few minutes, i realized what it was. the left over fried chicken. i was pissed! that shit is a week old!! eww!! chicken does not last that long. and your little prissy ass isn't even eating it. i shoved the peice of chicken back in the pan (Grandpa told me i could after i said i was full). i finished the last 10 minutes if csi and immeadiately proceeded upstairs. and sure enough, like clockwork, my stomach growling and groaning and twisting at 1130pm. the rest of the night was hell. and now i'm one pissed off midget whose rage is greater than her pain. it is a good thing that i will be free on saturday. i know we don't get along all that well, but no one deserves to be poisoned. sheesh!!

one-track pony
Monday. 7.25.05 10:57 am
another weekend come and gone. 'tis sad i know. and nothing at all exciting happened. i babysat, worked out, read trashy magazines, saw fantastic 4 again (yes, by myself), and read harry potter. on the upside, i got the house to myself for most of the weekend. sandy was gone doing junk and grandpa had a golf tournament. i still haven't decided when to go home. either the 5th or 6th i think. the reasons for debate - i need to work to have money - i need to reregister my car by aug. 5 - cedar's b-day is on the 6th (i'll get paid for going) - jenni's b-day is on the 6th - there will be more traffic on friday (which means more cops). either way, i'm staying until the 15th so that i can get back in time to pack for move-in on sunday. i bought spawn and i, robot over the weekend and then king arthur on amazon. see this is why i have angst. i wanted these movies, but i should be saving up every damn penny. i need new jeans, but i won't buy them cause i'm saving money. now how does that work? those three movies could have bought me a pair of jeans. just goes to show what my priorities are. plenty of movies and no clothes...

'tis only tuesday
Tuesday. 7.19.05 8:10 am
Well, after a whirlwind weekend, it's back to the boring work week.

I got kicked out
I was kicked out of my own house on Friday. Can you believe it?!? Since when is Sandy’s family more important than me? Ahem, I say never! Friday morning I was told that Kevin had been informed I was staying at his house for the evening. You know, if I would have known all those people were staying again, I would have offered to leave freely.

A good weekend anyway
despite such thoughtless treatment, the weekend turned out all right. I left work early because I had nothing left to do. I proceeded to grab all my crap and was at Lindsey’s by 400pm. I played with the puppies and settled in to watch King Arthur and take a nap. Well, as it turns out, the movie was really surprisingly good. (Not to mention Ioan Gruffund and Clive Owen were in it) so no nap. Lindsey arrived just before it ended with a bazillion more movies. We watched hitch and most of sideways over a pizza. I slept in a little on Saturday, although I wish it could have been more. Then it was time for intense discussion about why john couldn't live with Kevin and Lindsey. He’s going to be pissed when he finds out. Lindsey and I went to see Charlie and the chocolate factory. It was excellent, much better than the misrepresentative first. Then there was lunch at Chili's. After the fun, I went back to chuck's to drop of my junk and change. Then it was off to look at school books and baby-sit. Sunday I did nothing.

School books
at the book store - genetics = $86.50 genetics sol'n manual = $33 O chem book and sol'ns manual together = $209.10 econ wkbk = ??
On Amazon(s&h included) - genetics = $53.14 genetics sol'n manual = $15.23 O chem book = $102.48 + $73 (sol'n manual that will still have to come from the book store)
so, I have to take back the genetics books I bought on Saturday. I didn't those two would make a huge difference online, but turns out, Amazon is better every time.

The new h3
I have seen pics and stuff before, but today I drove right up close next to one. They are pretty cute little guys. Definitely the more chicish version. Like an over sized SUV. Or an excursion, but cooler looking. Less wide and a little shorter than the first, so I’ll bet this one actually fits in parking garages. And a whole lot more affordable...

Movies to buy
I have a number of movies on my list now, and it could mean trouble for the bank account. both Bridget Jones' Diary, King Arthur, Finding Neverland, Dodgeball, Phantom of the Opera, Ocean's 11(still) and 12, The Incredibles, Leon the Professional, The Ring 2(aug), Sin City(aug 16). And that's just the ones off the very top of my head. I'm sure there are many more
