You Smell Funny
quote for the day
"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'"
"A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on earth. "
-- George Bernard Shaw
song of the moment
The Hand That Feeds
You're keeping in step
In the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
Because you do
What you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

What if this whole crusade's
A charade
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood
On which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

So naive
I keep holding on to what I want to believe
I can see
But I keep holding on and on and on and on

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?
Will you stay down on your knees?
awesome anyway

Well, this weekend turned out to be awesome despite Friday. Saturday we did all the birthday business. I got a hot new laptop and an amazingly fast printer. Also some other random stuff, like girly crap from Ash and this very amusing book. And some batman movies! OhOh! And my brother got me hot guys. But it's cool cause I got him South Park Series 1 and 2 and Family Guy 1 and 2. So, I figure that was a fair trade. My mommy made me chicken enchiladas. Mmmmm......they were awesome. On Saturday night, Ash and I went to see Resident Evil 2. It was sweet. Definitely better than I thought it would be. And today everyone just layed around and hung out. No fighting or near death happenings. It was quite unusual and very nice. Then we all went to Saltgrass for dinner and had some awesome steaks. That was a great end to the weekend. Then I came back up here. I got all my shit brought up and plugged in, and I'm freakishly giddy. 'Twas a very good weekend in the end.

what a (not so) great birthday......
Saturday. 9.25.04 11:02 am
being as my birthday is on tuesday, and my brother's ans dad's is today, i came home yesterday to celebrate. my fun brithday weekend has so far consisted of me reading a paper in front of a bunch of people i have enver met. then i was almost killed twice while driving down here. then i had to go to the dps and the wait was over an hour. so, after all that plus a huge migrane, it was still going to be ok. why? you ask.....well, i was supposed to go see resident evil 2 and hang out with one of my best friends. (oh cool!! how was it?!?!) actually, i never got to go. he stood me up, offered no explanation and did not answer the million phone calls and texts that came his way. so, i figure he is still at work - he actually did tell me this at like 630, and i go to get my brother's b-day presents. first i go to best buy and they are hella expensive. so then i go buy them at target. well, the best buy in conroe tends to have cheaper stuff sometimes than the one by my house. so, since i no longer have anything to do, i go there just to check. well, on my way beck, i see the exit for my friend's house. it's just after 9, so even if he was working until 8 (he told me early in the day only til 5), he would be home. so, i go to check up and see what happened. well, his car is there and his lights are on, so i call as i park in the parking lot. no answer. well, then i go knock on his door. i hear rustling, but no one answers. i knock harder just in case. still no answer. so, i call ash and leave. as i'm heading out of the parking lot, all his lights are off and there is only the glow of the tv. hmmm.... so, ash and i go out for a while and she gives me my presents. (ashley was the only good part of the day.) but she has class this morning, so we didn't hang out for long. well, i can't sleep because i don't know is up with my friend. so, i go back to his apartment and it's about 1220 when i get there. lights are on again, car is there although parked differently. so, i go and knock and call and taxt again. no answers at all. and then i see him getting it on with some chic! he ditched me for another chic and lied. and he lied to me earlier this week. and now i know what has been up with him all this week. while the story is a little thicker than it appears on the surface, even reading it makes me sick. so, i'm gonna go now.

So, you walk into chemistry the very day of class and you teacher tells you that all his exams are based on the notes. So, what do you do the week before the test? Well, you study the notes, right? You follow his advice, right? You do all the practice problems he gave you, right? So, then you walk into the room to take the test. About five minutes after he has given out the exam, the person nexts to you whispers "Fuck me to hell!" The guy on the other side of you imediately agrees and you attempt not to cry after taking your first science college exam. The moral of the story - Teachers lie! There is no way in hell that test was based on the notes. No one in that room had a fucking idea what was going on. The average score on chemistry 1301's first exam - 68%. Yeah buddy. Divide that by 2 and add 4 and you will have my score. and what did I do? Well, i followed the professors instructions. I did the danm practice problems, none of which were on even close to the ones on the exam mind you. So, in conclusion, chemistry sucks royal ass. The end.

From the news -
"While we've spent that $200 billion in Iraq, 8 million Americans are looking for work — 2 million more than when George W. Bush took office — and we're told that we can't afford to invest in job training and job creation here at home," Kerry said.

Well, Mr. Kerry, you've done it again. Another dumb fact from the peanut gallery. Full employment is rated at %5 unemployment. Greenspan knows that to have less unemployment that this is very dangerous. Less than %5 unemployment will cause inflation. Inflation could lead to another depression, especially because we aren't spending as much money as we used to be.

For AUGUST 2004 (http://stats.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm) - "and the unemployment rate was little changed at 5.4 percent,"

This means we are just short of full employment. That is not a bad thing. We are in a great place right now! We have room to move without causing any major disasters. You are a politician. You are supposed to know these things. Check your info before you start blurting it out. You'll save yourself a few votes.

For those lacking in economic knowledge, the closer we are to 100% employment, the closer we are to serious inflation. At %5, we are on the brink of high inflation. High inflation will usually lead to a depression (minor vs major depends on other economic situations). Basically, I'm not siding with Bush's shitty, new jobs, I'm just making note of another one of Kerry's flaws. Regardless of party, noting any 'facts' falsely will reflect poorly on the candidate.

well, I figured it was about time for a real blog. I have been a little busy to put anything even that worthwhile to me on here. And it's not like anyone out there is racing to read my blog. The leaving process has begun. Shea left about 30 minutes ago, Sarah left 10 minutes after that, and Jess and Mike just walked out the door. This leaves me. Why am I still here? you ask. Well, the dryer still has aboug 45 minutes. So, in an hour I will be walking out the doors. Our suite will be empty until Monday when we all come back just as we left. (Well, maybe a little less excited.) And while we are all leaving with one common goal, we aren't a leaving for the same reason. Our goal is to get away for a few days. Our reasons - Shea is going to see friends and the boy toy; Jess is going to spend more time with Mike and see her family. Sarah is going to party at Baylor like it's 1999. And I, well, my reason is so much different. I am going home to sleep. To take a break. It'll be great. So, while I was motivated to write more, it's Friday and I'm not anymore. So, I'll cut short and say, See ya'll later!
