quote for the day
"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'" "A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on earth. " -- George Bernard Shaw song of the moment
The Hand That Feeds You're keeping in step In the line Got your chin held high and you feel just fine Because you do What you're told But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you want to change it? What if this whole crusade's A charade And behind it all there's a price to be paid For the blood On which we dine Justified in the name of the holy and the divine Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you want to change it? So naive I keep holding on to what I want to believe I can see But I keep holding on and on and on and on Will you bite the hand that feeds you? Will you stay down on your knees? | tear Wednesday. 6.15.05 10:16 am spurs lost. 'tis sad, i know. they were pretty much slaughtered. i got to see the last quater of the game, and it was painful. despite all the the twisting and turning and funny faces, the ball refused to cooperate with manu, parker or even duncan. not to mention the fact that the pistons have an amazing defense. but my team is still up, 2-1. let's just hope they are a little more on the ball (haha - i made a pun) this thursday. For my veiwing pleasure. Poor Tony Parker looks like he's crying. For those not as inclined toward the Spurs, I have other things to share. Today is PayDay!! yeah, that's right. and it should be a good one! things this paycheck is going toward - 1> gas -$90 (to go home and get back) 2> new chi turbo (my dog ate mine 2 weeks ago) -$120 3> bmg bill - $30 4> renew subscription to women's health - $20. Total $260. Eek, it goes away fast. I guess it's a good thing this is a big one! Gitmo all right einstein's what do you want to do about the situation? before you decide, let me give you a few little interesting facts. then we'll discuss options. first, interrogation does not equal torture. guantanamo bay serves better food to their prisoners than our army eat on a daily basis. the guards allow them to practice their religious beliefs at all time and even provide materials to do so. and last, we are waging a war with terrorism!! who in their right mind doesn't support that? so, now we come to options. some say bring them over onto american soil. yeah, good idea. bring the terrorists as close as possible to the people they want to destroy. while we are at it, why don't we ask them to make us a bomb so we can understand what they are doing in the dark corners of iraq. ok, then let them go already. they have told everything they are going to tell and the was is over. ther is another great idea!! let them go so they can go back to thinking up ways to kill us! almost all that have been released have done just that. most of these guys worked closely, personally with hussein. they are not just going to stop because someone gave them a little smack on the wrist. they will attempt to destroy us until we or they are dead. it's as plain and simple as that. A Forgotten CD The Wallflowers - Rebel Sweetheart. totally forgot about that one. need it now. Digital Camera Yeah, need one of those too. I want one of the really killer ones though. we're talking high class, good quality pics. i may save that for a birthday thing though. i need to find one that is perfect, otherwise i'll just keep using my elf. that camera takes amazing pictures, i just don't have the money to pay for the film and development all the time. we'll see. that one is still in the thinking about it stage. although, while talking about techmology gadgets, i still really want that nike-plillips mp3 player. and buy the end of the summer, i guarantee i will have it. i suppose i could buy it today, but no need to spend all my money in one day. I think that's all i have to say at the moment. although i may be back...you never know. Comment! (3) | Recommend! specs and stats for my weekend Monday. 6.13.05 8:43 am first of all, congrats to the spurs for winning their game against the pistons!!! ^^isn't he adorable!^^ ok, so. Here is a short recap. Tony Parker's 3-pointer 22 seconds into the first period of Game 2 gave San Antonio a lead it wouldn't relinquish as the Spurs cruised to a 97-76 victory over the visiting Pistons on Sunday. Manu Ginobili ^ led the offensive onslaught, scoring a game-high 27 points. Ginobili was 6-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc. Tim Duncan chipped in with 18 points and 11 rebounds and defensive stalwart Bruce Bowen added 15 points of his own. The Spurs look to extend their 2-0 lead in Detroit on Tuesday. -Now isn't that damn exciting?!?! In other news, I did virtually nothing all weekend. I bought three pairs of shoes, did one load of laundry, watched reruns of America's Next Top Model and did dirty dancing in the living room. Actually, I think that's about what I did last week. Minus the buying of the shoes. That was quite exciting. And none of the shoes I bought were black! That is a big deal for me! -----edit----- Michael Jackson was pronounced not guilty to all charges today. My fellow Americans, that jury is officially the dumbest ever to exist. So, watch out for all the little kids you know. Since the government won't protect them, it is now our task. Comment! (3) | Recommend! Make a Note Please Thursday. 6.9.05 10:11 am Tis Thursday, oh sweet Thursday. My last full day of work this week. I've decided to leave early tomorrow. I'm going to see my two favorite little kids. And there will be playing and cartoon watching. Sweet bliss! And next weekend I'm going home!!! YAY!! I miss my puppy soo bad. I'm suffering from withdrawl. If I could, I'd bring him back with me. But Sandy would be pissed. And Angus would pee on the carpet because dogs before him have, and he doesn't know any better. Isn't that a nice thought. So, anyway, this entry is more of a personal note to myself. My CD collection has been found lacking in the past couple months, and it's time to fix that. Or at least make a list of what things I need to start fixing it. Several of my cd's seem to have gone 'missing' since I have started college. No making fun! 3 Doors Down - Seventeen U2 - The Best of 1990-2000 (M.I.A.) U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb Dave Matthew's - Crash (my cd player finally ate that one, Stupid not making a copy!) - Stand Up Rob Thomas - Something To Be (maybe) Matchbox 20 - More Than You Think You Are (M.I.A.) Soundgarden - A-sides (M.I.A.) Audioslave - Out of Exile (damn the cd player!!) Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against... (M.I.A.) - Evil Empire (M.I.A.) - The Battle Of Los Angeles (M.I.A.) Widespread Panic - Ball Howie Day - Stop All The World Now And that's all I can think of at this immediate moment. Too bad the fundage doesn't fit the list. But I have the summer to regain what was lost. And to put all my current cd's onto my laptop cause this 'missing' and being eaten shit is driving me nuts! Comment! (11) | Recommend! look two days in a row! Tuesday. 6.7.05 8:03 am ![]() You like the prince charming type. What kind of guy are you most attracted to? proudly stolen from KatnicityAnnToTheMax Isn't he a cutie. I would so date him if he existed! So, I'm going home in two weeks! Thank you God! I've only been back for one and I'm going nuts. Sandy's weird and I'm way too tired and work is soooo boring. I mean, how long can you really sit at a desk? One? Two? Even four? Well, try nine. Five days a week. It's no wonder I want to kill myself around 2pm every day. And this is the way it shall be for the next two months. The money is good, but I'm not so sure it's good enough. There will be talk of a raise come July. As for long term at home time, probably July 31 to August 13. Then school starts again. That will give me two full months of work. Plus plenty of babysitting time. That will be nice little perk in the money making pot. Can you say shopping at the end of summer?!?! My office is freezing! And there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I just get to sit here and be bored. So, now that I have sporadically rambled on about nothing, I'm go to do nothing somewhere else. Comment! (5) | Recommend! the female is very odd... Monday. 6.6.05 11:14 am women are very strange. they spend ridiculous amounts of time on primping. they are obssessed with food or lack thereof. they spend $50 on their nails and $500 on their shoes. they love to shop and act extremely odd when the word "sale" is ever uttered. they don't know how to park or drive backward or even drive in general. they love all animals with hair and hate most without. they enjoy listening to people sing at ridiculously high pitches on a stage. and chics absolutley love love. but the strangest of all their fascinations is the baby. bring a baby into a room, and i can guarantee almost every woman there will be oggling the damn kid. there will be ten million questions asked. i don't understand it. even women who have kids of their own are obsessed with babies. even i, the one who doesn't ever want kids, find babies to be absolutely adorable. i can't hardly take my eyes off them. and it's only true of babies. once they hit toddler age, there cuteness begins to fade. sometimes a child will hold the woman's attention until 4 or 5 if particularly adorable, but often the obsession ends aroun 2-3 and sometimes even earlier. so, what is with this strange fascination? why do women, all women, become entranced when a baby is in the room? this is my pondering for the day. Comment! (2) | Recommend! Thursday. 6.2.05 11:51 am i miss my puppy. i talked to mom on tuesday and she said he was all sad and weird because i'm gone again. i just want to go back home and lay on the couch with him forever. isn't that the saddest thing you have ever heard. i would rather watch tv with my dog than be with the majority of the human race. there are a few exceptions though. i have the phantom of the opera stuck in my head. actually, it's been there for about 3 days now. i want to go see it so bad!! but i think my mom will prolly go with my dad again. the musical is coming to houston in july. i mean, i could be there! and i found tickets on tuesday for row r center orchestra seats!! those are freaking awesome. and on a friday night no less! but i doubt they are still there. 5 hours left of work. fortunately i have a bank trip planned in that. unfortunately, the bank is less than a mile away. it's actually next to the building across the street from mine. so, i might have a few other 'errands' to run. it wouldn't be so bad if my neck wasn't so sore and if i didn't want to sleep so bad. although, i am definitely more awake than i was last summer. must be the working out after work. makes me sleep better, i think. and no one is on aim anymore. i guess they are all normal and.....sleeping. i however sign on around 815 am and sign off around 502pm. yeah, i sit at a computer all freaking day!!!! i will never be able to have an office job as a permanent job. i can't stand the boredom and repitition. i just do the same thing over and over and over again. that's why i'm going to be a doctor. so i can go back to school over and over and over again. and then, when i reach the age of 32, i will have a real job and be an attending...that doesn't involve a desk. which also means that i'm marrying a rich man shortly after college and never having kids. why? well, the rich man will support me while i'm in school for the next 7 years. then i won't be making a whole lot during my reisidency which can take up to 7ish years. and the kid window is ages 25-30. that's it. so, i'll be doing my residency during that period of my life. and you can't just put your residency on hold to have a kid. adoption may be an option though. there are lots of little kids in the worlds without mommies. i could prolly hook one or two of them up. no promises though. so, there's my entry about nothing for no one to read. hope you all enjoyed. and have a wonderful rest of the week. only 1.5 workdays left!! ![]() Comment!
