Welcome to Not Getting Run Over By A Forklift 101. For our first lesson we'll... ack! No. NO! What a terrible way to start the class!

..:More Boring Than Usual:..
Wednesday 6.2.04 06:34 pm

I'm not really doing anything and I won't be doing anything for awhile. Finals are making my life more boring than usual. I've been tired so all I've done is read and played the game I bought for myself. There really isn't a point to my blogging, so I should probably stop now.

Actually, I finished the new design for my website. I'm not going to put a link since I think it's on my non-generic website list anyway. So... yes. Have fun.

..:Crypticism:..
Tuesday 6.1.04 04:31 pm

I was up doing my tip sheet until twelve yesterday and then I realized I had french, so I set myself to finding out what homework we had. After about an hour of looking, I realized I had already done the entire study guide. Needless to say, I was slightly pissed.

To be extremely cyrptic, I got a shaky yes yesterday! Whew! A step in the right direction with my number two. Someone should be able to figure out what I mean by that.

I started the Mists of Avalon and I must say it's really good so far. I also started The Great Hunt, which is the second in the Wheel of Time series. Lots of reading, but not a whole lot of time to do it in. I'm going to be glad when summer rolls around.

As for my finals, I think I bombed the french final, since I didn't really study and most of the questions seemed too easy. The debate... wow... I don't even want to talk about that. I was nervous since I had to present arguments first and I got attacked in the rebuttal, but I think I did fine for my part of the rebuttal, even if I was a little gittery. It's not a lack of research, since I did more than almost everyone in the group, I was just nervous because I figured I wouldn't give enough detail (which I didn't). This is turning into a rant, so I'll stop.

I'm making a new layout for my website, so I'll mention when I put it up, I guess.

Sunday 5.30.04 09:04 pm

This has been one of the most fun days I've had in a long time. As... strange as it sounds, I went to bed next to Casey and woke up with her poking me in the side. I was expecting her to start screaming "pervert" at the top of her lungs and knock me out of bed or something. Oh well, she was in her swimsuit when she woke me up for some reason... I guess she didn't remember I promised to take her out to breakfast. So I got ready and we ate at Christie's in Burlingame. I hadn't been there in ages, but Frita still works there so she gave us the private table after a few minutes of catching up. Mmm... I love their pancakes.

Anyway, after we got done, we headed down to Century in Daly City and saw The Day After Tomorrow and Shrek 2. Both movies were a little dumb, but good I guess. (Uh, I just got called in to eat the cake I baked, so I'll finish the update later.) Let's see. When we were done watching the movies, we headed down to the Montery beach and did random stuff for a few hours, including walking up and down the boardwalk and getting about three samples from each clam chowder vendor we saw. Ah, good times.

I should probably mention that when I refer to Casey as a cousin, I mean she's a really good friend. We've known eachother for most of our lives, so we consider ourselves family... for the most part anyway. I like to think of myself as a babysitter for her, since we get to see eachother everytime her mom needs to dump her off somewhere.

So I got home a couple of hours ago and played a little of my favorite version of poker with Casey then I started an update and had the angel food cake that I made and talked before she had to leave. I wish my entire summer could be like that...

Who would expect a library to be closed an entire weekend? I mean, even though it's memorial day tomorrow there's no reason for it to close for our entire weekend. My debate team was planning to meet and do research on our topic today... At least we realized we could communicate through email, even if it is a little more difficult.

Well, I'm going to be unprepared for finals next week as I was last time. I'm not going to study for French or Bio, or review for English or Math. I'm just going to kick back and enjoy memorial day and a few movies. I hate my teachers for giving such huge amounts of homework over this of all weekends...

I'm definitely finishing Eye of the World today. I've been reading it during the silent reading time we've had in English for about four months and, although I love the book, I haven't found time to read it besides that. It's kind of funny, though, that I've bought three books in the series and I haven't even finished the first one. Oh well, that must mean it's time to start reading.

Later, DS
~ Ah, those were the... nights! The days weren't as good - I had to work.

Thursday 5.27.04 09:20 pm

I've had a question eating away at me all day since I thought of it. It came to me in first period and I spent nearly all day contemplating it. I even refused to seek out the person who could (and still can) answer my question quickly, for one reason or another. (Although it's mostly my shyness.) I asked a few of my closer friends about it and the only response I got can be generalized as, "Aw... How sweet." For some reason, I thought someone would say something worthwhile but, the more I think about it, I realize that school definitely isn't a place to go to ask people how to word a question... Now, for all of the people I've confused by writing that and not giving much detail, sorry, but I'm sure you can piece things together... With the exception of the question, that is.

Let's see, I had a whole bunch of people ask me to sign their yearbooks today... It was really annoying since I was trying to think, but I gave in and wrote things for people. When people asked to sign my yearbook, however, it wasn't fun explaining that I don't have one and I don't mean to get one. I don't know why people can't just accept that someone doesn't have a yearbook. I mean, if you really want me to remember you by a little saying you write with your name next to it, then fine - go get a sheet of paper and write whatever the hell you want on it and give it to me - but rest assured, if you hadn't made an impact on my life before that, it's not going to make a damn bit of difference to me. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be more concerned with my yearbook as a senior, since I know I'll never see some friends again.

In other news... I think it would be nice if someone would kill me and save everyone from what I am these days. I hate being the extra person that isn't really a part of any crowd. I hate being such an ass to my friends and family and everyone around me. I hate being my mundane, cookie-cutter, just-below-average self. I'm disturbed by what people are saying, but not necessarily about losing friends that I never had.

Well, so much for making myself feel better.

Later, DS
~ I haven't a hopeful lyric to voice today, it's been lost in contemplation.

..:When You See The Beachparty:..
Wednesday 5.26.04 09:39 pm

Okay, so it wasn't a beachparty, but I got to swim in track today. The team got the entire pool to ourselves, but only about twenty people actually got in. I started off the swimming with a jack-knife in the diving pool and was kicked in the head by Craig immediately after. The day proceeded to be full of swimming and comments on how long my hair actually is. I even got the chance to do a little teaching when I discovered Daisy couldn't tread water. Ah, good times... I'm not going to go into detail as to what happened, but it was certainly interesting.

I got my yearbook today, too, which I'm a little peeved about. I didn't want to get one, but my brother forced my mom to call the school and order one for him (so he wouldn't be carrying around eighty dollars, since he's a sissy and he'd probably get it stolen) and I and didn't tell me that he had done it several months ago. My mom decided to go the extra mile to make our yearbooks a little more 'special', so she had our names inscribed on the covers, which completely ruined my giving mine to Emerald... Unless she doesn't care that my name is on it, which I'd seriously doubt.

I just woke up from a five hour nap, so I should probably start working on my evil homework.

Later, DS
~ Shavuot begins today. What are you doing?
