What a terrible way to start the class! But aren't solar-powered vampires a bit impractical? Did you know I have somewhere around one hundred forty entires? The primary function of the United States Coast Guard (besides protecting the borders and patroling national waters) is to travel back in time and battle pirates! If wishes were squids, then beggars would write. With the ink, you see. The ink of SO MANY SQUIDS. "It doesn't get any more serious than a Rhinocerus about to charge your ass." I was up until two and I ended up skipping the rest of my homework. Mrs. Dreyer wasn't too happy when I wouldn't talk and I didn't have my homework. Track is going to be a nightmare tomorrow. We have a meet at Sequoia and I still have shin splints and I killed my long jump pop at practice today. Well, maybe if I believe I can to it, I'll be able to. Wait... nevermind, that's my advice and it's just BS to get people to feel better. So... what injury do you suggest I fake? Did you know how stupid the school rules are? I just looked at them for no reason and say the rules on dressing. You can't wear anything that shows your midrift or underwear and it was recently added that you have to wear close-toed shoes. I was thinking that if you were only wearing a sash around your midrift, you could get away without wearing anything else, but no - I had to remember the close-toed shoe policy. Then I decided you could run around with the sash around your midrift and a pair of slippers and be completely naked besides that. Wouldn't that be fun? *hint* *hint* I really hope the guys who read this don't get any ideas... Later, DS
Comment! (0) | Recommend! ..:Recommendation:.. Monday 4.20.04 09:54 pm Testing, testing, testing... That's all I ever do these days... along with everyone else. I almost got detention again, though. It was quite fun. I really don't want to do my english essay... Mrs. Harper was being evil about my thesis. She kept telling me to change it until I got it to the point she liked it, which would have been fine if it hadn't been one word different from the original thesis I gave her. After I reminded her of that, she told me to just use one of the topics that she recommended, then she gave me a handy lecture on how she recommended me for GATE and that I'm one of those students that borders on an A- all year and that she didn't want me to screw it up with the essay and whatnot. Sometimes I hate her with a vengance... Even if she did recommend me, I didn't get a letter saying I was accepted... Not that I really care, but it would be nice to be able to say, "Yeah, I'm in GATE." People always ask and I have to say, "No, I'm a dumbass. That shouldn't have been too hard to figure out." So, yeah. I'm destined to be stuck at the CP level in english, even though I'm in honors. Then again, grades might not be the reason I wasn't accepted... Maybe my writing just sucks. ^.^ Boy I'm making myself feel good. Bah, I'd better go start. I don't want to write it all tomorrow night. Later, DS

It's going to kill me to finish it and still sleep more than a couple of hours. Damn teachers taking advantage of these "block days". As promised, I was very bored today. Thankfully, there was someone that talked to me today... I didn't go insane because of it. Besides my side-chatting, I was cleaning places I hadn't even noticed were dirty in my room: the windowsill, the top of my desk, the roof... I even noticed that my VCR burnt a hole in the top of my TV, so I put a stylish hot-plate under it. I think I should get a new VCR, though... Well, I'm going to get back to my homework. Have a good night, people. Later, DS
Comment! (0) | Recommend! ..:Rushing Like A Handy Metaphor:.. Saturday 4.18.04 09:22 pm Mmm... That was actually a fun all day meet. T'was a state-wide meet and happened to be invitational. Basically, the top seven people of each field event were to be recognized as the best in the state. I got there at eight this morning and sat around waiting for other schools to show up. My first event was high jump, but about five minutes before it started, Rick came over and told me I was replacing Micheal in the 4x100... I didn't want to give up on high jump, so I cleared starting height, then 4' 8" and left to run the relay. We got fourth place, and I was pretty happy - not medal though. I went back to high jump and cleared 4' 10" easily. Then it got to five feet and I pretty much lost all my form, if you can call it that, and "lost all my lives". I placed fifth... At least it was fun. I had about ten minutes between the time I finished high jump and when I started long jump, so I spent it wisely and walked around asking people stupid questions... I asked one girl, "So, do you come here often?" And she blushed and walked over into her group of friends and they stared at me awhile. Good times. At any rate, my first jump was a pathetic 16' 10" and I was sad when I looked at the measuring tape. My second went down to a more pathetic 16' 6" and I finished with a semi-decent 17' 6". I have to say this meet was called the "Top 7 Invitational". That means the top seven placeholders in each event take three more jumps and compete for rankings. I, unfortunately, placed eighth. It would have been cool to be in the top seven jumpers of the state, but it's all good. I proceeded to sit around and have... interesting conversations with Angel, Carmen, Momoyo, Daisy, Grace and a few other people while we played cards and listened to music. "Got Apples?" What were we thinking? Yeah... I fell asleep after awhile and apparently some random girl from another school came over and said I had nice legs and got pissed off when I wasn't answering. Daisy figured out I was asleep pretty quickly after that, so she took the opportunity to take some really stupid pictures. I woke up to Rick kicking me and asking if I felt alright... This was by no means and innocent question. He wanted to know if I was up to running in the 4x400. Of course I said I was, who am I to pass up an event? Apparently he had been looking for me for awhile, though. He said some of the team said they heard me say I was feeling sick and that I went home... Go figure. Well, back to the 4x400. We did really well from the start. Benny ran his ass off, but ended his lap in sixth. Scott got the baton and pulled a Frank, putting us in third. Wilson got the baton and started off running pretty fast. He kept our placing until he hit the last hundred, at which point he raised his hands up like he had won. Someone passed him and I saw him mouth, "Oh shit!" and he started running again, but we were soon back in sixth. I got the baton and ran like... a witty metaphor. I got back into third place and kept a solid sprint the entire lap, unfortunately, I got passed in the final thiry, not fifty, meters of the race. I am proud of coming in at a fourty-eight, though. Especially since I had shin splints. Fourth is pretty damn good for a state-wide meet, I guess. No medals though. At least I have a few years to work on that. *sigh* I'm going to be bored to no end tomorrow. Later, DS
Comment! (0) | Recommend! ..:Sarchasm:.. Friday 4.17.04 09:57 pm Never get detention when you don't have to come to school until ten... You have to show up at eight, then hear Bev tell you you have to stay in the cafeteria until school starts at ten... and proceed to beg for your freedom to sleep until she lets you go. Well, at least I got an hour of sleep before I went back. Why do I have to run at the meet with shin splints? *whines* Well, I'm actually more concerned with jumping, even though I did it fine yesterday. Hope I don't die. Ah, I just rediscovered sarchasm... the gulf between the author of a sarcastic comment and its reader, if you didn't know. I just put that in for filler. I have nothing to do on Sunday, please help me... I don't want to sit around the house all day a) doing homework b) writing poetry (ahem, Icon), or c) something else of little importance to me. Basically, I need something to save me from being bored of out my mind. Later, DS
Comment! (2) | Recommend! ..:Tis Another Useless Entry:.. Thursday 4.16.04 11:28 pm There really isn't a whole lot to talk about anymore... Testing drains the day away. Track was better than it has been as of late, mostly because I actually did something. I got to work on running form with the girls, which was kinda fun... Rick was being stupid and told us to run a 100, walk two 50's, and run another 100 and said we'd end up in the same place we started... After that I got to work on long jump, my best event by far according to Rick. I was landing in the eighteen to twenty-one foot range the entire time. I set my non-meet PR (personal record) of twenty-one feet nine inches, just short of what our best jumper hits... I hate seniors... And these evil Saturday meets. Hmm... I don't know what else to talk about... However, I did notice that no one can read Later, DS
