I remained silent through the lovely car ride back home, then came upstairs, put on loud music (Opeth and In Flames, specifically) and watched tv/played PS2. It was a good remedy. I really didn't want to associate with people, so it was best I just kept to myself. Today is def a lot better. I went downstairs and talked to mom and she said never again with that bullshit from last night. We (my mom and me, at least) are not going to the Christmas Eve thing at Larry's parents's anymore. It's just a bunch of aggravation, and who needs that the night before Christmas? Anyway, this morning has been fun. I protested against Larry's usual Christmas music, so we played my mom's Enya CD as background music while we opened presents. I got the necessities since I didn't ask for anything. I got two nice turtleneck sweaters and two pairs of jeans. However, I think my best gift was the two bags of Dove chocolates that were in my stocking. Mmmmm, Dove chocolate is so damn good! Both Larry and my mom really liked the gifts that I bought for them. Larry was like an excited little child, all giddy that I got him the Howard Stern Private Parts DVD (My mom was like, Oh God...). But best of all, my mom loves the musical angel that I bought her. I knew she would Later on, my cousin Billy is coming over. That will be cool for a couple of reasons: 1. I haven't seen him since this summer, and 2. He wants to buy the canvas punching bag and a few mats off of me, so I'll have more tattoo money. I'm so excited about that. I'm probably gonna go tomorrow and get something done. Whichever design I choose, I think I'm gonna have them put "Noel" under it, so my mom knows it's for her. Merry Christmas everyone... Comment! I left for a bit to finally go and get my check ($230 for two days of work, not bad), then head back. I was getting tired of being there because I don't talk to these people normally, then my uncle Linda (I say uncle because she looks like a butch dyke) sits there fucking screaming at a 10-month old child. I know if I was Frankie (my cousin, Linda's son), I would've decked her. You simply tell the kid no, and move him away from the problem. But no, that'd be the rational person's method of doing this--she'd rather aggravate and yell and make the kid cry, then laugh about it. So, with all the noise and aggravation and shit, I was beyond ready to leave. We get in the car, and traffic's a bitch because of Candy Cane Lane. When the family is together, they like to irritate each other, so Larry was in a ripe, pissy mood while we're driving home, so I got to sit through more arguing between my mom and him. It's no wonder I never leave this room. Why would I want to socialize with these people? Now it especially doesn't feel like the holidays. Merry FUCKING Christmas... Comment! (2) | Recommend! It's that time again... Wednesday. 12.24.03 4:23 pm Bah, about to head up to Larry's parents's house for the annual Christmas Eve shindig. It's not really so bad, but his family is a bunch of winners (Larry included). What irks me more is that fed Ex sucks at life today, and hasn't delivered our paychecks yet. However, that provides a good excuse to leave early. Hopefully we get up there, get the meal going, do the gift exchange, then, with the help of mom, get our asses out of there by 7 or 8. Wtf is with this rainy weather? It didn't really feel like Christmas to begin with, and now the shit-tastic rain makes it even worse. Hopefully the weatherman is right, and it snows tomorrow. Then, hopefully it snows on my birthday, since it hasn't in years (even though it's a mere 12 days after Christmas)... Comment! (1) | Recommend! Happy Birthday Broomie... Monday. 12.22.03 4:40 pm Today's mom's 43rd birthday. I found a pretty funny card, which she def enjoyed. On the front it says "Count your blessings Mom...", then it has Garfield and another pop-out twin of Garfield with "I could've been twins! Happy Birthday" on the inside. She was amused, it was good times. I signed it "Stinky Human Child", since she's called me that since I was a little, stinky human child. I also signed to card to "Broomie"(Broomhilda) since I call my mom that to pick on her. We met up with a friend of hers and had lunch at the Olive Garden. It was pretty good, but not as good as it was Thursday night. After that, we ran errands basically, and now we're basically vegging out before heading out to dinner with Larry tonight. While we were out running errands, we stopped by Totem so I could check their hours this week. They're open tomorrow, then closed Christmas Eve and day--as I imagined--then they have extended hours on Friday and Saturday (11 am-9 pm). So, perhaps tomorrow I'll head over there and employ my sneaky tattoo plot. So far this break has been pretty good, and I hope that I get to see and spend time with my old school friends I haven't seen in years, in some cases. 3 more days til Christmas... Comment! (2) | Recommend! Merry Kiss-My-Ass... Friday. 12.19.03 10:13 pm Why is it that I only seem to update this thing when I'm home and go to work? Anyway, I am home for Christmas break, and I began said break today by...you guessed it, going to work. It's rough to come back to work and have an 11 hour day after being "on break" from it (i.e., back at school, which means being fat and lazy). It wasn't too bad today. I had my second review, and my manager told me she "had to give you fair remarks on something, otherwise upper management will question a flawless review". Along with that, I got my second raise. I love owning my jobs. It def helps when I apply to somewhere new, and they call my references and get excellent reviews. I worked today, and I work tomorrow, but then I have the entire Christmas week off. Next big thing is New Year's Eve. It sucks that I'm gonna kinda miss New Year's, but I'll be makin $8/hr and I'll be around some cool people, so it won't be too bad. I'll just have to party it up with Claynuts some other night. That's pretty much all I have to say, seeing as I've spent my day working. I'll try and actually update this a couple times... Comment! (1) | Recommend! Friday. 12.12.03 10:43 am Ok, so this isn't really an update. However, I took the time: a. to research and write this paper and b. to publish it in the writing section, so feel free to read my final paper for my Dramatic literature class. I feel confident in my work researching the significance of American playwright David Henry Hwang. Check it out in the "hell's kitchen" section if you're interested. Comment! (4) | Recommend! |
