Short and sweet...

My four-day mini vacation was most excellent. I'm hoping that it will serve as an example of all the fun times to come this summer. When I'm not too lazy to sit and write about it, I'll fill you in on the events of the past 5 days or so. For now, I'm off to turn in an application for the uber-ritzy Dollar General. That's right, I know you're jealous.

A discovery...
Tuesday. 5.11.04 8:30 pm
I've spent quite a few hours unpacking, cleaning my room, rearranging my room, packing up stuff for school in the fall, etc. Well, in the process of moving things around and going through some old things, even getting rid of something things, I stumbled across something that didn't recognize at first (aside from my own handwriting, which was obvious), but realized was something I had written back in High School. I think it's pretty cool, so I thought I would share it with you.

"We live our lives cowering in fear; of love, of hate, of responsibility, of each other. We dwell in the misery of existence. Individuality is heresy. Society is our fascist dictator. Conformity is the aversion to the very nature of our being. We do not share the visage of one, nor do we all have one collective thought, but we all succumb to our innate fear of non-acceptance. We are marrionettes in the hands of our apprehension. Fear drives society to attack those who stand out."

My natural instinct was to edit that as I typed it, but instead I copied it word-for-word to capture what was written a few years ago. It was pretty cool to stumble across something like this. I'm making comments open to the public; I'd like to hear what you think.

It's that time again...
Saturday. 5.8.04 10:15 pm
Friday night I went to the movies and saw Mean Girls, which turned out to be a really funny movie. Quite a few SNL cast members are in the movie, and Lorne Michaels produced the movie. I have to say that Lindsey Lohan is growing up to be gorgeous. However, along with that, I must say that Tina Fey's a hottie as well. What can I say, she speaks to the nerd in me. I know one's 17 and the other is 34, but hey, that averages out to one hott, intellectually sound 25.5 year old!

Now, setting aside what I think about how the two actresses look, I actually paid attention to the movie for it's content and not just the eye-candy. The movie is really funny, and how they represent high school cliques is pretty on the money. I'd say it's worth it to go out and see it.

I'm so glad that finals are over with! Granted, I only really had one final that was an exam, but I was somewhat stressing over getting all of the work done on the various projects I had to complete. Hopefully my grades turn out as well as they did at midterm. If so, I'm definitely gonna make Dean's list, and I never really thought I'd ever do that (well, at least back when I was still an Ed. major and had no life and hated my classes). My huge GPA increase definitely show that I made the right choice by dropping Ed. and instead having the B.A. in Music major, with minors in Music Tech. and Religion. School has progressively gotten so much better this year, most noticeably this semester. I have the feeling that it's only gonna continue to get better as I take more classes I really want to take and get my huge single in the SPAA house and just have a good experience on campus.

Going home in less than two days...it's almost surreal how quickly this last year has passed. I'm holding high hopes for this summer. I'm hoping Clabaugh comes back, but with Butchy(aka, his dad) and the need for a job, I can't really blame him if he only ends up bein here for a week or so. I honestly don't really feel like dealing with the Radisson. I'll be looking for a second (or just a new) job, preferrably at the YMCA, as I have mentioned before. I'd like to get in shape this summer. I know you all love my pudge, but who doesn't like some definition? Working at the Y would solve the problem of finding a way to work out (without having to pay for a membership to a gym somewhere). Of course, I still have Totem in mind, of which I have spoke of at great length; so much so that if you don't know the details, scroll down and read the last couple of real entries. Outside of worrying about jobs/money/all that fun stuff, I'd like to see a lot of, if not all, of my old school friends. I'm positive a couple weekends will be spent travelling to central PA and whatnot. It's always good times, and I don't want to let those relationships fade out.

Well, I'll leave it at that for now and update again when events/ideas/issues/whatever warrant doing so.

Forum performance went really well. Wicca presentation owned today. That's two things down, only the video project, piano composition, and percussion jury remain.
