"You might not be the chosen one
Still you wait for your time to come
but your faith has taken a tumble
and your pride is shaken and humble now
you must know nothings set in stone
you must know that you're not alone
you try not to ever hate
but can't help but overcompensate
there's a smile that says everything's rosy
maybe 10% then it's mostly hell
you must know nothings set in stone
you must know that you're not alone

you dream of another world
where the guy always gets the girl
but your life is not like the movies
you can shoot your way to heroes, should we
take some time for the end of dark
we should take some time for the end of dark

The calm ones who get it done
and it's the brave that will overcome
should you listen to your voices?
When they lie and give you no more choices?
Pray what'ya gunna do?
in this phase that you're going through?"

Booyah! Korean Experience Points for the win!
Thursday. 11.25.10 4:42 am
I totally just order McDonalds in Korean on the phone! AHAHAHAHAHAH. Of course, most of this consisted of "Cheesbuger Set, chusayo" and stuff like that, but hey, at least I used "opsoyo" (not have) correctly and while I did not use "molayo" (don't know) correctly... it still worked. Take that! Er.. personal achievement goal!
---
Scratch that... ordered two meals.. :( Oh well.

In my mind, there are two forces: a clear optimist and a pessimist. This is how an average internal struggle goes on about something like.. Oh, say, North Korea bombing South Korea later this afternoon.

"AHHH!!!! We're all going to die!"
"You worry too much."
"But there have been escalating attacks ever since I got to Korea!"
"You only have six more months, who cares."
"I care! And how do you know that my apartment isn't going to turn into a fiery ball of flame!"
"At least that'll answer all you're annoying questions about God."
"Don't talk about God that way!"
"You know what I mean. Besides, it probably won't hit in here anyway."
(An image of South Korea as a wartorn nation arises in my mind. Children are screaming and crying for their mothers and fathers. Maimed bodies lay tucked under burning buildings).
"Well at least you could fulfill your lifelong desire of being a philanthropist."
"Oh, would you just shut it."

Later:
"Oh Geez... I don't really know if I want to go to Seoul anymore..."
"Yeah, why go to Seoul when you've got great shopping in NAMPO!"

I probably will go shopping in Nampo... I am on the lookout for funny t-shirts. XD

Laramie
Monday. 11.22.10 2:32 am
I bought a throw the other night. Its blue, tan and dark tan and has all those little Native American symbols on it that arent actually Native American. You could get something just like it at home.

I am at home sick, and since my eyes keep ticking and my arms only want to do so much, I am completely bedridden and alone with my thoughts. So, its not too strange that I started thinking about home.

Laramie, I asked, what is so great about Laramie? You know theyre right, it is a boring town. Its very quiet, very rustic. Its miles away from the nearest target, but you know what? I love Laramie. I love the way the air smells and the way it feels. I love walking down the streets with my hands in my pockets. I love the smell of fall. I love the little farmers markets and the jubilee days. I love all the people there, too, and you know, theyre not all the same ones, but I still like them. I love all of the good honest people that live out their good honest lives in that little town stuck in the middle of no where. I guess thats the thing about quiet towns. After a while, you have to figure out how to live with yourself.

People who can live with themselves, can make damn near anybody feel welcome.

Theres a part of me that knows Laramie will change and that maybe, Laramie and I will not be the soulmates that we once were. I try to use that to comfort me as I am so far away, but it just makes it all the much scarier. What if Laramie, my Laramie, isnt there when I get back from Korea? What am I going to do? Where am I going to be? Its a hard thing, falling in love again.
