Nano mod!
Step One: getting supplies
Saturday. 2.9.08 12:14 am
So, I bought some water colors today. It was kind of fun to get to look at all the different colors and things. I am still a little nervous about the whole thing, but its not a sinking in the pit of my stomach nervous, so I think I'm going to be alright. I bought some "riggers" and some "mops" today. I don't know what they do... I intend to find out. I also bought a piece of board, which was amazingly cheap, I was pretty excited. I have yet to actually paint anything, but I am going to do a still painting somtime tommorow. I have nominated my Aloe. I will scan it in so that all of you will be able to see.

I really hope this turns out well. I am pretty excited about learning to paint with watercolors, though I am worried about how much work it will be. Goodbye cruel world! You'll see me in a couple of months!

My summer project (I think I've gone stark raving mad)
Thursday. 2.7.08 1:21 pm
First... I would like to point out that this WAS my idea. I thought it would be a brilliant idea to write an illustrate a children's book over a summer and get a research grant while I'm at it. I thought that it should be done it watercolor ala Beatrix Potter and I am the one who seems to be convinced that I can do it all in a summer. Quite frankly though... I'm terrified. I have never watercolored in my life! I am halfway through editing a book that I need to get done by February 20th because... it just DOES and I have decided that I am going to learn how to write an illustrate a children's book? AAHHHH! Unfortunately, I've given up excuses for lent, do I am going to do it. So yeah, I'm going to be writing a proposal for what? Five hours this weekend and hopefully get everything in by the 13th *doom, da- doom, doom, DOOOM!* and on top of that... basically move mountains. However! They do say that if you ask the mountain move in God's name that they will leap off of where they stand and dive into the water so.... Dear God help me.

PANCAKES!!!
Wednesday. 2.6.08 10:38 am
I made pancakes yesterday. It was fat Tuesday, and I was thinking longingly about the days when my mom used to make me pancakes for fat Tuesday and how I would miss them this year and it wasn't fair and.... "wait" I thought, "I could make pancakes." So, I decided to go to the store and make pancakes.

First, I went around to see if anyone wanted to go to Wal-Mart. They didn't, but I did ask my neighbor down the hall if she would like pancakes and she said yes, so I was like "cool!". I saw my RA and asked if she wanted pancakes but, while very confused how today had anything to do with pancakes, she was not interested. So I took my failed cork board experiment and a pile of Barbie movies that I had watched that weekend and went off to Wal-mart.

My car's windows were mostly iced over, so I spent fifteen minutes or so trying to get them clear. It wasn't completely done when I started and so I drove to the movie rental and scrapped it off again, this time more sucessfully. I rocked out to my music in the car, a luxury limited to the car since my computer speakers sound like they are cooking fried eggs everytime I play anything and the sound quality on my MP3 player isn't much better. Hell yeah! Play it loud!

So yeah, I went to the store, grabbed... a lot of stuff and zipped through the checkout and went home. It didn't take too long to cook the pancakes, I did a half batch and made up four sucessful pancakes, each of varying sizes. Then I took some of my remaining eggs and put together some scrambled eggs. I had a little bit too much stuff, but luckily there was a nice girl who was eating ramen who agree to help me drag the plates and stuff to my room.

Then I invited my neighbor over, we ate pancakes and talked loudly until like... 12... :)

It was a lot of fun and I'm glad that I went out and did it. Also, now I have a mass paperback romance that I can read over valentine's! W007 for books in wal-marts!

Thanks to all you wonderful people out there
Tuesday. 2.5.08 5:24 pm
I'd like to take today to thank all those wonderful people out there in my life. I'd like to thank my loving family who supports me in everything I do. Also, I would like to thank all my friends for all the times that we are able to share together: here's to sharing more in the future.

I'd like to thank the nutangers for their wonderful contributions to the site and the comments that they have left. I would like to thank all the strangers who helped me along the way: whether it is those people who tell me where to find the bus station or those people who pick up my purse and come running after me with it, or the people who just leave my missing objects where they are so that I can come back and find them: I thank you. I thank, also, those people who let me in when I am in traffic or the people who do not honk at me when I miss the fact that there is a green light. I'd like to thank anyone who has ever asked "are you okay" when I trip and fall or anyone who has said, "bless you" when I sneezed.

I would also like to thank all those people who lost things or needed doors to be opened or sneezed, because without you, I am not sure I could have paid back the favors that I have been given in my life.

Thank you, all of you and I hope that God blesses you for the rest of your life.

Little Mosque on the Prarie - a review
Sunday. 2.3.08 11:26 am
I've been watching "little mosque on the prarie" lately. It's a Canadian show about a mosque in a small town and their adventures. It's a sitcom.

I really like it! There is really no show like it in the US or elsewhere. It's great because it is as funny as any ordinary sitcom, but it is really a whole lot more wholesome that an ordinary sitcom. I mean, so many times you have shows talking about the characters doing more and more outrageous things and you can almost see it elscating towards an abysmal plateau... but this? This is just a bunch of good people with faults that get them in trouble! I actually LIKE all of the characters in the show! Even the reoccuring bad guys! I mean how rare is that? Also, if you are the sort of person who feels guilty sitting on their behind and watching something completely devoid of educational value, you can think: "well... at least I'm learning a little about Islam!"

It's a really funny show so you ought to watch it. Currently it isn't actually showing here in America, but you can watch it online through Veho of the canadian broadcasting website.

PS: Thank you for all your comments on my apple! I will fix it up post haste.

Apple in Wyoming!
Friday. 2.1.08 12:28 pm
So... I took a picture out of my window... and I merged it with an apple. W007! Yeah, so I thought you might like to see it:

There it is! If anyone has any advice as to make it more realistic... that would be awesome.
