I love you grandma.

"Pain, you just have to ride it out, hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals. There are no solutions, no easy answers. You just breath deep and wait for it to subside. Most of the time pain can be managed, but sometimes the pain gets you where you least expect it. Hits way below the belt and doesn't let up. Pain, you just have to fight through, because the truth is you can't outrun it and life always makes more."

"Forgive and forget. That's what they say. It's good advice, but it's not very practical. When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. When someone wrongs us, we want to be right. Without forgiveness, old scores are never settled, old wombs never heal, and the most we can hope for is that one day we'll be lucky enough to forget."
Sleep Deprivation
Wednesday. 2.27.08 11:53 pm
I went to bed at 5 a.m. this morning and not only that, I had to wake up at 7:30 to take my brother to school. It's almost midnight and I've been up all day with only 2 and a half hours of sleep. That's not even enough for my body to recover from all my activities the previous day.

In Physiology we went over the central nervous system and talked about how adults need at least 8 hours of sleep because the first 4 hours you fall asleep, your body needs to recover and rebuild itself, then that whole REM state afterwards. Blah blah. I didn't nap at all. I wanted to fall asleep in Physiology, but we had to watch a documentary called, Earthlings. Pretty gnarly stuff. It's basically like watching those videos made by PETA, but it's like an hour and a half long. It all consists of us (humans) depending on the lives of animals for food, clothing, entertainment, medicine, etc. It's really upsetting to watch, but hey it's reality. It makes you really think of how much things in life are precious and that humans and animals are similar. Hence the title, Earthlings. We all belong to the same planet, we all have feelings, and we all tend to be familiar with our surroundings. The only real big difference is that we have power and those with power tend to dominate those that lack it. Therefore we choose whether animals live or die for our personal benefit, even though I believe that we really don't have the right to. But hey, I'm not vegetarian. So I can't really talk. It just makes me appreciate the animals more for having to give up its life without choice.. you know? But the cruelty and torturing isn't necessary, whether its for food or whatnot. That's all I really have to say. I should really get myself to bed. GOOD NIGHT. [:
