My day has been filled with a rollercoaster of emotions. I first started off feeling sore and pain because of my physical therapy (I started yesterday.). From what I hear it’s going to be a long road. I just hope I don’t feel like this everyday after I go through it. My whole body aches. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to since it was just the initial appointment and she didn’t even finish checking me out. I trust her though and I’m sure it will go just swimmingly.

I then found a letter I got in the mail from someone who’s related to a friend of my mom. The person’s name seems to be Cesar, but I say seems to be since what I think should be a C is a squiggle thing. Any who, the person had a photo album of mine. The person also knew my FULL name; first, middle and last name. It’s kinda weird since I don’t take pictures so the photo album they have must be very very old. It’s kind of interesting though since I was just thinking about friendships and the person they’re related to has a son who I like very much. I haven’t heard or seen him in ages though…AGES! I just mainly remember how wonderful he was to me. :)

My mood then went to slight annoyance when I remembered my convo with UPS yesterday. It seems that UPS business hours are until 7pm. Well I had my package sent to my work which closes at 5pm. I already felt a bit annoyed by the fact that I ordered this on Friday and wouldn’t be getting it until a week later, but to then know it may not come until tomorrow just because they have until 7 to give it to me… Yeah the vein in my temple was starting to throb while I muttered cuss words about UPS under my breath.

Then I got an e-mail from the sweet Innocent which brightened my day. She’s doing very well and hopes to be back by the middle to end of Sept.!! :) She also offered me the site, but I’m not sure I’m ready for that type of responsibility. If I say “ok” then it really does become my site. I mean all this time I knew if push came to shove I could just quit with no guilt since this site wasn’t mine, but if I accept this site as my own… Yeah I’m still thinking about if I should accept her offer or not. It will probably take me days and countless e-mails to my advisors. (You know who you are.) Any who, Innocent sounds like she’s having fun on her vacation. That’s always a good thing and what I wanted to hear. It’s part of why I took over this site really, well besides you guys that is. Despite what people think your senior summer vacation is very important. You will never get to be that carefree again…ever. After that you will always have something to do and then work!! Try taking off a couple of months where you can choose whatever you want to do when you have a job; travel, chill, work on something else, etc. Yeah, soooo not going to happen…ever.

Then my package arrived and now my desk drawer is filled with Pocky (chocolate with coconut, chocolate with almonds, melon, strawberry with bits, pineapple and custard flan) and manga. I wonder if I’m the only one who had a desk work drawer like that. If I died tomorrow I wonder what my co-workers would think as they cleaned it out, especially since the new volume I got is yaoi. I just love Antique Bakery. Seriously I thought that the translations wouldn’t be very good and it would annoy me like most series do, but this was just wonderful! It was as if nothing changed going from reading Beautiful Soup’s version to now. It’s wonderful!! XD I haven’t even touched the Pocky yet since I’m trying not to eat a lot of that type of stuff. I just wanted to make buying the manga “worth while” since it was from online. :)

I then got some very sad news. Tulsa, one of the proofers in SnS is leaving us. She had been with the group since the first large “hiring” we did. She’s one of the sweetest, cheerful, caring and just all around wonderful people you’ll ever have a chance to meet. I will miss her and her presence she brought to the group greatly. Proofers seem to come and go more often then anyone else in a group, well in SnS they do. Because of this her leaving affects me even more since she’s been with us for so long. I hope she comes back though when she’s able to, in 3-5 years.

After everything that’s happened today, including some things I haven’t mentioned, I must admit that I can’t wait until tomorrow morning when I get to read the rest of Antique Bakery, drink my Iced Venti _Mocha and snack on some Pocky in Starbucks before work. It will be a very nice way to start the beginning of the weekend that’s for sure. :)

So last Friday around noon I order some Pocky and volume 3 of Antique Bakery. I know I still have some Pocky in my work desk drawer, but it’s not Strawberry with bits and I REALLY wanted to try their flan kind. Anyways so I place this order thinking the company is like every other company I’ve ordered from since on their website they have jack info. about their shipping and how they handle orders. Booooooy was I WRONG! Now I’ve done a lot of ordering from east coast companies before so it’s not an odd thing for them to have certain cut off times, but the cut off time for this company is completely…well screwy for lack of a better word. It turns out I’d have to place an order at 6am PST in order for it to be shipped out that day. Now I figured it’s because you have the option of US mail so of course in order for them to get it in the US mail it would need an early cut off time.

Now I find all of this out on Monday. See I received a receipt on Friday and on Saturday I got a confirmation, but it turns out they only processed my order, but did not fully process my order. I guess it means they don’t stick everything in a box until the next business day. Which is ok, I guess. I mean I did buy Pocky so I would like it to be kept in a decently cool area so it won’t melt and become a nasty mess where I have to eat all 6 sticks at once or in pieces. What I don’t find “ok” is the fact that it wasn’t put on a truck to UPS until 6pm EST on Monday!! I’ve worked in many different places that used overnight shipping and not one place did someone have to drive to the overnight’s place for a drop off. Not only that, but all of the overnight places have their own cut off time which is usually 5pm! I mean if that’s the case I would have paid an extra 3 bucks and had them make the drop off at FedEx instead of crappy UPS! At least then I’d know how it was given to them is how it would show up. I’ve never ever had a problem with FedEx.

So now I’m looking at my little update page on UPS and I keep thinking to myself. I paid for 3 day delivery for what?! It was supposed to be shipped Monday, but didn’t actually leave NY until today, Tuesday, and I won’t get it until Thursday! Not only that, but I had to use UPS!! I don’t know about the rest of you, but they just suck. They are a company where you definitely get what you pay for. They are the cheapest for a good reason. They leave boxes out in the open, the boxes are usually NEVER in good condition when you get them and what’s with the black dirt on the boxes? Do they just have some worker who pushes it along the floor so when you pick it up you have black yucky stuff all over it? And why is it if you put “fragile” or “this side up” it’s always smashed in and always never that side up? Is it part of their job description to never read a label or to do the opposite of what the label says?

Well onto brighter more happy news! An old friend of my boyfriend stopped by on Sunday and it was a very nice visit. It’s always nice to see him, but boy I don’t remember him being so tall! I haven’t seen him in like 2 years. We used to see each other 1-2 times a year, but then I got a new job and when you can easily turn into a workaholic I didn’t want to take any time off. I’m trying to break myself out of that habit though since being a workaholic when you’re in a relationship is never good for the relationship or for your hobbies. :)

I’ve also decided that I would come extra early on Friday and do a Starbucks and read manga thing. They are normally empty early mornings and so I think having their blueberry coffee cake (one of the very few treats I like from there), Iced Venti _Mocha and Antique Bakery would be a nice relaxing thing for me since lately my lunches have been filled with errands. Speaking of snacks from Starbucks I still can’t believe people would buy a turkey sandwich for over 5 bucks from there. It’s a SMALL sandwich that probably cost like 2 bucks at most to make. I can’t imagine ever being so well off I’d think nothing of buying one of their sandwiches instead of making my own.
