The pressure's on.

I have slowly been going crazy. It started about two months before my company moved and it's finally at the breaking point. I don't mean crazy as in one flew over the cuckoo's nest, I mean just losing my mind from being stressed. Worrying about work, worrying about keeping the apartment clean, worrying about my review (still hasn't happened), worrying about finding a house, etc. It's made me into a crabby person to be with and God bless my husband's soul that he hasn't just totally lost it with me.

For those of you who've seen the anime for KareKano (Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou), there is a scene in the second episode when he gives her something else to work on since he's part of so many different clubs and commities. Her remark is, "You're going to die soon." (English dub version...which isn't half bad.) Sometimes I hear a little voice that tells me that when I start to feel this way. It's when I stop and realize I need to work less and make more time for other things. I dislike what the stress is doing to me so here's the plan Stan on what I will need to start working on and changing.

1) I will start to exercise. It sounds stupid, but people who exercise are usually happier people because of the chemicals that are released when you exercise. I'm going to buy some jogging shoes this Friday and go jogging with my husband. There are a lot of nice places to do that around Clovis and Fresno.

2) I will limit myself to working on full work day on the weekends per month. No matter how behind I feel I am, no matter what I know I need to do I will just get it done during the day. Friday I tweaked my back a little and it's just getting better again. I stressed over not being able to go into work to do some stuff because it hurt so bad I couldn't drive into work. (God bless pain killers.)

3) I will try to let things go. This will be the hardest for me. Like yesterday our receptionist messed with my print out that I was doing. I still don't understand why she felt it was ok. If it was new business would she have done it? She says they were in order, but if they were then why touch them? It's one thing to move a print out when it's done or to hand it out, but there were a lot of pages and I thought it was safe. Obviously I've learned my lesson and next time I'll waste my time and just stand guard over my print job.

Pretty soon I will be too busy to do much of anything. Right now I'm studying to get one of my licenses, one out of the 5 or 6 I'll need in order to sign off on new business. I plan on getting all of those within 2-3 years. It may take me longer since one of the tests is really hard from what my co-worker's say.

Controlled Chaos Part 2

So having to use a public bathroom is horrible. I thought the bathrooms would be just for the offices, but they are also open for the public to use. Since I’ve been here everything I thought would happen has come true. There’s been blood drops on the TANK of the toilet, not to be confused with the bowl, people can’t seem to figure out what the silver handle is for, toilet paper on the floor, paper towels on the floor, people not washing their hands, etc. Also some pan handlers (homeless people who stand at a corner or busy area asking for a hand out) have taken up across the street so they like to come in and use the restroom. I thank God I’m not a guy!

I’d love to know why people don’t flush the toilet. They are adults. They are potty trained. Unless you’re not potty trained you don’t have an excuse to flush the toilet. I just don’t get it. What’s up with leaving the bathroom a mess? You drop something pick it up. It’s not like I’m feeling they should clean the sink after using it. Just some bathroom etiquette would be nice. You know things like wash your hands, flush the toilet and if you drop something pick it up.

I didn’t realize how good I had it until this last weekend. I came in and I stayed for almost a full work day. This time I had to use the restroom while I was there though. I won’t be doing THAT ever again. I’ve used the restroom one other time, but other co-workers were here so I felt safe. You know, they knew I was gone and if I wasn’t back in a while they would be concerned. It wasn’t just me, myself and I. My husband knew I was at work, but I also told him I wouldn’t be home until 5 or so. This time I felt nervous and insecure. It was the quickest bathroom stop I’ve ever done. In one hand I held my can of Lysol, ready to spray any baddies, and the other I held my office keys, pointed down of course since it’s easier to do damage if you slash down then up. I didn’t use the back door like I normally do to get to the restroom since there’s a long hallway with a couple of blind spots. Luckily, nothing happened except what my over-active imagination thought up, but I definitely won’t be doing a full work day anymore just in case I ever have to use the restroom!
