On the move...again.
So we received our notice that our lease is coming up soon and that our rent would be raised! I'm now looking for a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. While I love the half bath it's not worth paying so much more. The hardest part is finding a place that has a washer/dryer hook-up or comes with a washer/dryer. I've narrowed it down to three complexes. The third is just down the street from us and is a 2 bedroom 1 bath, but it's cheaper. We'll see though. I am waiting for a call back from one apartment complex and went to visit one today at lunch. It comes with a stackable washer/dryer and is the perfect size. Well except the closet space which is next to nothing. We have a clothes rack still at my mom's that we could ask for though. It also turns out that the time my work is to move has changed to a month later. This is really going to be the pits since it's about the same time I need to move if I can find another place. /sigh
My husband and I have decided to wait until we have my mom's money "in our hands" before we continue to look for a house. So we'll probably wait until next spring or so when our lease will be up. I'm a bit disappointed, but he is usually right when it comes to money between the two of us. Once we get the money we'll put it in a savings or money market account and just wait until it's time to look again. It will also give us more time to pay down/pay off our debt! Hopefully by then he will feel secure enough in our finances to feel it's ok to move. Doubt it though since he's probably waiting for one of us to get a small raise and I doubt I'll be receiving once when my review comes up the middle of this month. Honestly I'm worried about it. I always am, but I can't help it. I can write a list of crap I could have done better or should have done *cough* not have scolded our temp *cough* that will probably lower my chances of a raise even more.
*cough* Speaking of our temp... So today a co-worker tells one of my bosses that ALL of the stuff in the inbox is gone. ALL of it! He's working on a very lengthy and detailed project that only he knows how to do. I have some stuff in the inbox I planned on doing today as well. So we're all wondering what's going on with our scanning system and how we're supposed to get all of this stuff back. It's not like we take notes on what's left in the inbox to work on so we're in a jam. Turns out the temp processed it all! Seriously I could ring her chubby neck! Why?! Seriously. She wasn't trained to process my co-worker's stuff or mine! Both of our stuff had problems and shouldn't have been processed so why in the hell did she think it should be? We both made notes on what we needed to do in order to fix it. (Mine's mainly searching through huge piles of statements to rescan.) That wasn't an invite to process it without asking!
Today it took all of the strength I had to not answer the phone when once again she wouldn't put someone on hold to pick it up. It just rang and rang and rang until she finally got her other caller off of the phone. I refuse to anymore unless the phones are obviously going crazy. I'm not the only one who's decided on that either. I wrote another e-mail to a boss of mine about speaking to her about the phones. I was going to keep my mouth shut since I thought maybe my co-workers had to pick up my slack more then I thought. When a co-worker told me that wasn't true and it was only when the phones were just going crazy, I decided it was time to send another e-mail. I wasn't going to have them ask me why I hadn't said anything sooner like last time.

Why did the chickens cross the road?
To get to the other side of course! As we were coming back from my mom's house, mind you this is the city and not country, we saw a black/grey and white chicken and a brown/rusty red chicken slowly cross in front of us. Seriously! They almost got hit by a car as they crossed too. It was funny as hell, but as my husband remarked after marking the normal chicken road crossing joke, "Only in Madera."
This weekend was a very busy one for me. I still haven't finished my update on the website like I wanted to. On Sunday I went to my mom's house to help her get ready for her house to go onto the market. It looks nice, much better then we lived there. New paint, carpet, etc. will do that to a house though. I am sooo sore! I put together a bunch of stuff, used muscles I forgot I had and moved more furniture then I ever have.
I know I said I wasn't going to say anything about the new house I looked up, but I lied and I'm going to. We don't qualify for the program, their website says one thing and when you call in they say another. Oh well I'm moving onto plan B to get the house, but in order for it to work my husband has to see it. I mean you can't get the full effect and understand what you're giving up if you haven't seen it right? I'm also going to be compromising in order to move in. In order to pay the HoA fees I will be giving up my cable. This is huge since I love my cable and have held very firm about not giving it up. To get this house I would soooo give it up though. We'll see though. This weekend or sometime this week we'll go walk through it and then I'll tell my husband my plan. It's a simple plan, but without him seeing everything it would fail. He's not the type to look at a floor plan and say, "Great house with amazing features and very well planned out!" I hope he will go with my plan. /cross fingers
