Controlled Chaos Part 1
Well it's been over a month since my last update so it's about time right? I'll start from the past and work to the present. The end of last month my work moved. Since then I've been working 5-1/2 to 6 days a week. If the building had air on Sundays I'd be working 7. I'm not behind like normal, it's just an import has this huge almost 300 client list. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to clean up the list before auto adding them to our system, but I was wrong. Something I thought would be a 2 hour project has turned into a 12 hour and counting, and I've only cut the list down to around the 170s.
So when they decided on the layout of this office they all thought the cubicles I'm in would be the same size as the ones in our last office. They're wrong, very wrong. Everyone said that they all had to cut down space, but they all have offices. The only person I felt bad for was our CCO since he thought he was getting the same size then a week before the move he found out it's smaller. Everyone else gets a decent sized office or a larger cubical then they had at the last place. I'm cramped and although I keep my mouth shut I hate it. I had stuck my trash can in the hallway for the first couple of weeks, it was suggested to me by my mentor since I wasn't sure where to stick it. I'd find it under my desk in the morning and I'd stick it back out when I got settled. Turned out my boss didn't like it there and asked if I could put it under my desk. I felt like laughing, I enough room for me and my purse under my desk, where the trash can was supposed to fit I'm not sure. We compromised on the space behind my chair which makes it even more cramped, but compromising doesn't always meet in the middle, eh.
One of the nice things about the location is all of the places to eat around us. It's really nice to have choices. Granted most are on the more expensive side, but it's nice to splurge sometimes. Normally I've been doing it on Friday's when I know on Saturday it's going to be a long work day, like I will eat lunch at work instead of leave for the day.
Another nice thing is the drive through the residential area. I guess the city wanted to make a "lower-class" neighborhood to have an upper class feeling. It's a very nice drive, like the scenic route I used to take. I also love how easy it is to just get into my car and go for a drive around the nice neighborhoods. It's very claming. I got lost the first time though...
Our receptionist is still...*sigh* . I mean when the phone rings and she's going through the mail she stops. How hard is it to do two things at once? It's not like she's taking minutes on what the person is saying or anything. Everyday I pray that the phone doesn't ring so it won't take forever and a day. I had to do new business a while back and I don't think she liked me going through the mail to get the new business out. I couldn't wait for her. She is proof that with time swiftness does not always follow.
Yeah, I know my avy doesn't match the layout, but it will...sooner or later...

Choices!
There's a lot of things I could talk about right now, but I'm trying to be upbeat about all the crap that's been thrown at me lately so I'll be talking about the choices I need to make and that I would love some comments on!
I'm going to be getting a new cell phone. I've decided on two, but I'm just not sure which one I should get. I play games on my phone, a lot, so it needs to have a smooth surface so I don't scratch off any of the paint stuff they put on the wheel area. The sound quality of the phone is also important and I want calling people to be easy to use. Right now I'm caught between the simple, yet functional Samsung SCH-u540 Blue and the fun LG VX9400. At one point I thought about the Samsung SCH-u740 Black, but it just wouldn't work out since I play games more then I text. If you've had or am using any of the phones please leave a comment and let me know how you like or liked it!
The other choice I'm having to make is which scanner to buy. This is the harder of the two. I will only be using the scanner to scan...umm...black and white pictures that sometimes might have words written on them. *cough* <_<;; It seems most people use these for scanning film and so they are a lot picker then I am since they expect and want a lot more then I do. I just need it to come out pretty good. Not looking or hoping for exactly the same really. I want my choice to be the right one so it's taking me a long time. I've been looking and reading reviews for the past 2 weeks or so. XD I'm trying to pick between Canon CanoScan LiDE 600F, Canon CanoScan 8600F and the HP Scanjet G4050. If you have or know someone who recently bought a scanner and can recommend one PLLLLEASE leave a comment or send me a note about it! I'm so confused because of all the reviews I've read. My budget is 200 or less, if I could I would snatch up with 700 dollar one I read about a while back. XD
