Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
Happy 4th, plus other stuff.

It feels like I never left the house, and yet I've been gone for a full two weeks. It's a feeling I get everytime with every vacation...while I'm gone it seems as though I've been away forever, and when I get back it feels like nothing's changed. Bleh, I can't stand it. Anyway, Florida + the competition was amazing, and DC had its perks too, though not really in the way I expected.

Plane rides are boring. Hence, I picked up some pencils and marked up some paper.

I copied it freehand from an old Warcraft III manual, so credit to whoever did the original :)

If I see another museum or hear the word "tour" I might pass out, because those were all we did in Washington DC. Sure, some of them were interesting. For the first 20 minutes. My sister and I would've been fine if we could've breezed through at our own pace...I mean come on, we're teenagers, we don't care about what happened in 1416 to some Duke of This and That. But for all my complaining I do get some bragging rights. I've been inside the White House. I've seen the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence. In the end I guess it was all worth it. My parents deserved it anyways, after we dragged them through 4 days of competition :)

I hear the popping of fireworks and the voice of my dad asking me to come outside and watch them from our deck. I'm obligated since he just cooked us a real nice dinner. Until next time...

P.S. I was planning on seeing Transformers today but my friends bailed. Apparently people do things on the 4th of July haha. I'm dying to see it...if anybody else already has then tell me what you thought of it.

P.S.S. Thanks for all the comments on my previous entry :) It means alot...I still don't think I've gotten all the excitement out of my system.

Double Dutch freestyle video [ update on previous ]
Thursday. 6.28.07 6:53 pm
So I said I'd get that routine posted online...and Youtube has come through for me. Don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place. Anyways....here it is.

I love it too :D

P.S. We had 2 misses..and we might've had a shot at the trophy if we hadn't. It kills me on the inside.

Greetings from DC

I'm sitting in my hotel room with a laptop and a convenient ethernet cable. And just in case you were wondering...

Nationals was awesome.

6th for singles freestyle
9th for pairs freestyle
2nd for double dutch pairs freestyle
3rd for double dutch freestyle
4th for speed relay
The scores above were for the standard age division championship. My speed relay and double dutch freestyle had high enough scores to make it to the finals (grand national championship, the top 8 competitors in the event regardless of age group).

My speed relay was on track for 1st or 2nd but the last person in the relay messed it up -_-. BUT the real glory was in the routine below:

[ Scratch that, the quality sucks I'll repost a better video ]

2nd place @ grand nationals! This was my first time making to the stage, let alone placing, which means the routine will be televised on ESPN later in the fall :D So exciting. Haha ok sorry I had to get that out of my system before I fell asleep...I'm just so proud of everybody and how we pulled that routine together in under a year. Maybe win next year? Who knows...I'll comment later once I get back home, ciao Nutang thanks for your support it means a lot to me.

Tomorrow
Tuesday. 6.19.07 3:49 pm
The big day. I'm leaving for Florida for the Nationals (in jumprope). Normally I don't feel anxious until I actually get there...but now the pressure's really on. If all goes well, I might actually win on stage and make it to ESPN -_- That's only if all goes well though. So wish me luck everyone, I'll be back around July since my parents decided to go sightseeing around Washington DC afterwards. Good for them, not so much for me, seeing as how I'll pretending to be enjoying myself most of the time. I guess it's only fair though, since I'm dragging them down to Florida in the first place.

Well I have to head off for the big practice rehearsal tonight. Peace out everyone.

Hello, plus random stuff
Sunday. 6.10.07 5:52 pm
Well. Certainly has been a while.

Why am I blogging? Because I'm at a friend's house, using their computer, because my own computer back at home has been designated a no-fly zone. Why? Because I was a bad kid again, and stayed on it too long, which eventually ended with my dad throwing another bitch fit, me pretending to listen, and him cutting up my Warcraft CD with scissors. Really, he should be more intelligent because I bought another one a reallllly long time ago because I needed the extra CD key. So none of this is cause to worry.

Anyways, my friend is being a noob and doing homework when we're supposed to be on breaktime. Silly achievers. Anyway, not much has happened around...my school had an undercover drug bust, and now it's all the rave in the media. For all the wrong reasons. Eric Devericks of the Seattle Times was nice enough to post this cartoon for everyone to see:

I responded in kind:
"In the June 3rd edition of the Times, a certain Mr. Devericks was generous enough to depict for the 438,516 subscribers of this newspaper another gross misinterpretation of the Federal Way School District. Ten teens of the 5,000 populating the district’s high schools were arrested, and overnight the area mutated into some black spot on the map, as though these problems weren’t prevalent in other schools, or are people choosing to ignore that? Adding the police to any story seems to suddenly make it newsworthy. Had this undercover bust never gone to the media, Federal Way schools would not be staring down the barrel of public mockery. I didn’t realize that my district’s push to improve was something to be criticized."

Of course the Times didn't actually post my little bit. But oh well, at least they read it. Other then that, excitement seems to have died off in life. Nationals is in 2 weeks, I'm a little scared (I have to put a front flip in my routine according to coach, who seems to enjoy adding stuff into people's routines when there's virtually no time to practice it). Oh dinner is ready. Mmm...spaghetti. I think that's how you spell it.

I'll comment later when I get to use the computer again. Which might be a while -_-. Yeah I know I'm a terrible person. Until then...

Woah there
Wednesday. 4.11.07 10:26 am
It's been a while. Sort of. I've been busy/lazy lately, so forgive my lack of bloginess. All last week there was a cursed book review due, and now all this week I have jump rope practice, despite the fact that I'm supposed to be on Spring Break. Mmm...not so much of a break when you're spending 4 hours on the road / practicing in Kirkland. Anyway, enough excuses. Let the blogging begin.

Regionals . On Saturday! I shouldn't be nervous, since I will probably qualify in a lot of things...but my old coach will be there and I want to do good. The only thing I'm nervous about is my singles freestyle...sometimes I nail it, and sometimes it poots out and I become teh phail

I have the full version for Spirited Away theme song on the piano and I love it, but it's made four different people cry now, and I'm not sure if I should be sad and depressed or feel glorified that my music has had some effect over people. I hadn't played it for a while, and I did a run through it and had almost no mistakes. I ran into my mom's room to see if she had heard the majesty, and she was sitting there crying . I can't stand it when she cries it makes me so sad. But I guess...in this context it was in a good way? Bah.

I have much other things to be doing at this particular moment, so I think I'll cut this short. Yay for boring entries. I'll be commenting you folks shortly, Teh Muphin [email protected] has not forgotten thee!
