I saw Transformers again today. Now that I can pay attention to other things besides the explosions and transforming robots, I'm starting to like the music too...I may have to go fetch me that soundtrack. And by fetch I mean download somewhere off the internet. Speaking of downloading off the internet, I tried fetching the entire movie as well ...but unfortunately it was only available for free in torrents, and I have no trust for those. And you shouldn't either.

Starting Monday I'm teaching a workshop for the week. It's a daycare in Redmond, and like all things up north it's a pretty nice place, so hopefuly the children won't be little demons. In the end it willl all be worth it, after I have that $500 check stashed somewhere. Why do I need to do all this job searching when I can just keep jump roping for a living. Unfortunately, I have a friend coming up from Oregon (if he sticks to the plan, anyway) so he might have to tag along through the practices and the workshop. Oh well.

Birthday in 2 days :) I expect gifts from everyone, preferably ones worth large amounts of money. I accept cash and expensive items, and if you don't want to mail it I take Paypal as well.

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
Give me the Allspark, and you may live to be my pet.

I finally saw Transformers. And for the first time since The Matrix I have been in awe at what I was watching on the silver screen. Going into the movie my expectations were high, which worried me, because high expectations generally end in disappointment, but Transformers delivered, robots and humans alike. I was impressed. I've always been really meticulous when it comes to SPFX, watching outside the action, checking on the little details to see if the movie really is leet. And Transformers was. The CGI was flawless. Morphing at 80+ mph looked incredibly pwnage, and watching Megatron and Starscream blast away at the speed of sound was even better. And who could forget Ironhide, where he front flips over Miss Damsel in Distress by firing those beastly cannons into the flimsy pavement? I love it. Everytime I see a semi going down the freeway I will never think of it the same again.

I started working with my new pair today. On the outset, I was really apprehensive about how she would fit into Elaine's place, but we got off to one hell of a start already, and I don't want to jinx it but I'm excited. I mean nobody would have replaced Elaine, and I miss her a lot, but me and Steph will definitely kick ass. Turns out I'm also doing the Masters division for Worlds, as decided by my coach...which will add more stress to Trials. Yay.

I'm in the process of downloading the Transformers movie so I should probably save as much bandwidth as possible. I'm still a good person, I swear!

UPDATE
Ok, this has been bothering me for some time now. The trailer right before Transformers showed a party, taped with a handheld digital camera. If anyone wants to see the trailer, I'll post it below. There is no title for the movie, only the date: 1/18/08, although for some reason it has been coined Cloverfield. These mystery things kill me inside.

Let the sanitation begin
Monday. 7.16.07 12:55 am
I have begun Cleaning my room. Not cleaning, but Cleaning...a term I stole from someones_muse to describe the act of intense cleaning. I don't really know what came over me, but I do like being able to walk around my room without trampling anything. And don't forget finding $20 in an old birthday card, that's classic.

I've decided I like that one show by whatsherface. Oh yeah, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. Her weapon of choice is sarcasm, and I personally endorse that. She also mocks anyone who appears on the show, a skill I've been trying to perfect, as many of my school friends can probalby attest to. On Nutang I try to avoid engaging in my usual mocking activities, but sometimes I slip up, generally when addressing Randy or Silver. And just for fun I thought I'd let everyone know that mockery is not that art of mocking...he is a sad, bald comedian. Don't laugh, this might be your future.

I think you should all know that I've memorized my social security number. No more having to call mom and ask, "K I'm at Target I need my SSN to apply [for work] can you read it to me?" Nope, I'm definitely too grown up for that now. Now none of you know my parents, or at least I hope not, but if you did, you'd be surprised too. I mean I guess it's not big deal to know your SSN, but this is a big step for them in letting go. And they even let me and my sister walk around DC...by ourselves. I dunno, all this independence at once might become overwhelming.

My pixel person is en route to the Island as we speak...or at least I think it is, for I have sent a message to the baboons notifying them of my request for residence on the Island. My caption:

"Dodge this."

If you are a Matrix nerd you must surely be clapping your hands in excitement, but if you are not, as I suspect is the case with most of you, then you should go watch The Matrix immediately, paying particular attention to the scene on the rooftop where Neo does his classic bullet-time dodging, and Trinity pilots the helicopter. If that's not enough of a hint than you are truly hopeless.

Good day.

P.S. That was a rather aggressive entry. I was feeling feisty.

Template finished
Saturday. 7.14.07 2:39 pm
The revamp is now complete. I added a graphic around the Nublog title to help distinguish between entries and such. I stuck to the classic Matrix theme, though the color scheme was definitely darker this time around, which is good news for Randy. I was partly inspired by the crispness of xxallenemiesxx's site, but as the template progressed I started making it more of my own. So ta-dah, tell me what you think.

The sister is back from Satanville, a.k.a. dance camp. I can only imagine what she must have been like at camp. She is particularly fond of adopting cutesy alter egos to blend better into her social groups. Her return has brought many great things to this household; the bathroom has transformed into the usual slobfest and my mother's stress levels have risen.

Jump rope has been occupying more of my summer than I'd anticipated. Not that I really had much else to occupy it with, but you get the idea. Today was a nice break in the cycle though; instead of driving 45 minutes up to Kirkland the practice came to me. I spent most of the morning teaching a teamate in my Worlds group whose been having a hard time grasping our 4 person routine. It's sad that nobody else even noticed or cared enough to help, and we're supposed to be teammates? I liked it on my old team, where drama was extinct and people were real to each others faces.

I found out that trials are in January...which means we only have about 4 and a half months to prepare 5 routines and get all of our speed scores up to par. And they're going to be held in Ohio...how random? Yay, more hot weather.

I'm sure everyone has these kinds of friends. Ones where you feel more obligated to be there friend than anything else? I have a particularly bad case...he's called me no less than 35 times in the past two weeks, and ever single time I've ignored it. This hasn't discouraged him in the least bit, as he just called me again...you'd think my subliminal messaging would've gotten through to him by now, but apparently my ignoring him has yet to speak for itself. I'm taking a little risk here since he knows about my Nutang...but perhaps discovering this will ease in the fact that I don't want to talk to you everyday.

Site Under Construction
Friday. 7.13.07 2:20 pm
I'm in the process of redoing the layout, and experimenting along the way. So if anything looks funky, that's why. Close your eyes.

UPDATE: The majesty is now finished. I don't really know what to name it, but it's darker and basically eviler in general than my last one. I'd update now, but unfortunately it's midnight and it would be a complete waste of the scarce brain cells that remain awake. Goodnight.

This is me being angry. Again.
Friday. 7.13.07 12:39 am
Yeah I know, I'm mad again. I'm not really an angry person, although having two rants in a row is probably giving people a different impression. But I really can't help it.

Every year at Nationals there's a photography crew who covers the event, later to sell the photos online to whoever wants one. Well this year, for some reason, there was a new company. Amazing Sports Photos!, or so they like to be called, but don't let the name deceive you. This was easily the worst batch I've ever seen in my 6 years of jumping. Not only do they somehow lose the entire first day of the competition, but their coverage of the remaining day was MISERABLE. If you were actually lucky enough to get photographed, they put on multi-shot and covered about 5 seconds of whatever you were doing, producing photographs worth less than penguin feces.
The MOTHERS sitting back in the stands had better pictures, and if they had decided to set up a booth they could've outsold these amatuers in a heartbeat. Sad, really.

In other news, I'm done with being modest.

Those are my medals from Regionals and Nationals, not including all my ribbons from other tournaments. Everyone needs some glory, damnit.

P.S. Happy Friday the 13th, now go knock on wood.

I didn't intend for this to be a rant, really.
Wednesday. 7.11.07 11:37 am
Today was a wake up call. It was my first gymnastics / regular practice since Nationals, and that was almost two weeks ago. So I'll be getting progressively sorer as the week continues, but me sweating like a demon has yielded some mighty fine results. We worked on our 4 person freestyle for Worlds...honestly I'm surprised how much structure we built into the routine already. Albeit, most of the stuff is taken from mine and Jesse's single rope freestyles, but still it works, and it looks damn good. Also, within two more gymnastics practices I will have a back tuck on the floor, I am making this as a promise to myself. You are all witnesses.

After the mornings chaos (and a delicious toasted Subway Melt with pepperjack cheese and all the toppings) I had to help my dad for a few hours putting in the new dryer. Appliances are beasts to do anything with these days. I should know, we've replaced the refrigerator, dish washer, and dryerr all this year. But they've all been old , we're not richy riches who get tired of our "totally last year" gadgets. The only thing that's remained is the oven and stove. Knock on wood.

On a lighter note, I am free from the tyranny of my sister, for a few days at least. She's journied off to dance camp with her scatterbrain coach and equally mindless minions. I'm not worried, she'll fit right in. Haha yes, I sound so merciless I know. But I have just cause. She left the toilet paper roll empty before leaving. Unforgivable.

Speaking of things that have gotten on my bad side lately (okay I'm not really mad at her for the toiler paper thing, really), Aquapod needs to perish. Behold evil incarnate.

These are the gimmicky little bottles of water that have been plauguing me for the past few weeks. "OMG mommy loooook at those bottles of water...they're shaped more differenter OMG mommy buy them!!!1!!11!!" And Nestle (they're making them) tries to parade around promoting "the more hydrated teenager." More hydrated my ass, teenagers don't care about that crap. Yay water filled in a container shaped like a malformed egg, that'll definitely get teenagers to drink more! I love Crunch bars, Nestle, but really, you brought this one step too far. Oh and parents are also depicted as zombies on the Aquapod website, that's how obsessed I am with ridding this disease from the Earth. Why does it bother me so much? I don't know.

Although the fact that they're making a live action Bratz movie probably hasn't helped my mood. I was hoping the actresses would have insane collagen-enhanced lips and massive bellbottoms, but unfortunately the only thing they bring to the silver screen is their inner biatch, which the movie seems to be promoting among the females of the younger generation.

End of rant

Say hello to my lil friend
Monday. 7.9.07 8:53 pm

Meet the newest resident of the Island. Or he will be shortly at least, once I decide to stop being lazy and starting pestering Dave for a spot on those sandy dunes. It's the most Matrix-esque thing I could come up with, but if anyone else has some clever ideas up their sleeve than I will pay PPS for a good specimen. I've yet to conceive a witty caption however. This will probably take a good deal of time...

I started drivers ed today. Yeah, shut up, I'm a year late, I don't care. I've never been one for having initiative anyway. If I'm going to get a job I might as well be able to drive myself...originally I was just going to wait till I was 18 and save my parents a little $$$, but apparently that was against their agenda. I'm doing one of those "come-in-whenever-you-want" kind of programs, and the minimum length of the program is 5 weeks...which I intend to hit right on the nose. Finishing before summer and getting my license would be nice.

I want my sister to grow up. Originally I intended to write a long, pointless rant, but then I decided it was really not going to do much good but make me more agitated. I'm probably demanding too much from the the cycle of natural growth but whatever.

Practice starts again tomorrow...starting at 7:30 with gymnastics. I've been practicing in my backyard a bit, but most of the time I've been going forward. I don't think I'm psychologically prepared to start going backwards again, so this will be interesting. And so will be my first time working with my new pair, someone completely opposite of me who essentially represents everything I find evil in life. Excellent.
