About Art4TheHomeless
Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH. Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US. Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. Wednesday. 1.28.09 4:23 pm Since February is a short month, the zine is being published a couple of days early! Our feature homeless organization is The Homeless Network again because new information has been added to it. If you are homeless and in the US, but you are NOT an American Citizen OR you have lost your naturalization papers, green cards, etc, new info has been added for YOU. THN has also been noticed by the Federal agency www.samhsa.gov (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) as a homeless resource help site! The Elegance Boutique, Tangles Beauty Bar and DeeTangles Trendz are featured as well since they are a huge support to Art4TheHomeless (I have my art up for sale in the shop and will donate some of my proceeds to local shelters in the Atlanta-Decatur area) so stop by and check them out! They are in my Myspace Top Friends! ADD them! Our feature artists are all from Zazzle.com, a website where anyone can upload anything and make a work of art from the image. My Zazzle site is dedicated to using profits to aid shelters in the US. Stop and take a look at their stuff. They are: Juliana from the Netherlands, Spikeman Designs from California, Zodiak Babes from Cuenca, Spain, and Cavity's Wedding and Obama designs! Our feature musician is Dylan from Austrailia! You have to have a credit card for that and I don't so that's what took me forever ;) Anyway, my art is up for bidding on and whoever buys it will get to choose a homeless shelter in their area and I will donate only part of the proceeds in both their name and Art4TheHomeless name. Guy cuts off his dog's ears Thursday. 2.19.09 11:10 pm I am just sitting here watching the news when this came on. This is really sick. This guy cut off his pit bull's ears because he thought it would look cool. They showed the animal and he was in a lot of pain. His ears were bloody. That guy needs to have his ears cut off. I have a missile in my basement! Well, I don't, but someone else does. It's a funny story really. I caught in on the news. This lady was married to a member of the National Guard and one day he brought home a pet...a pet missile. They are getting a divorce and she contacted the Guard and they were like OMG We need that back! Is there anyone else out there that has unique and exotic pets? Comment! (1) | Recommend! |
