About Art4TheHomeless
Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH. Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US. Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. Dude, leave me alone. I am not interested in you anymore. You disrespected me and keep on disrespecting me. I don't mind you posting here as long as it is in regards to helping the homeless, but leave ME alone. I am moving on with my life and am tired of being harassed. I gave you many chances and was very patient with you. I am through being patient. If I have to, I will contact Immigration if you keep on harassing me. Sorry to be so mean, but all I want is to be left alone. In more clear words Leave me the fuck alone Comment! (1) | Recommend! Hopeless Wednesday. 10.22.08 4:46 pm Frienship blossomed once upon a time Blinded to bloody wars ravaging the same garden We were surrounded by racial divide Yet it never divided us It didn't matter that y ou were black and I am white What mattered was loyalty, trust, honesty What mattered was laugher, fun, and joy I prayed for you when you were suicidal I hoped for you when you were hopeless I let you stay with me when you were homeless I moved away and you stayed I became who I am and You became who you are And to see the divide clearly before us Friendship ruined by racism Yeah, you mentioned that I was the only White friend you had Yeah, you hinted that you wouldn't have me as a friend Except for the fact that I was there When you needed me You say I changed I see you have also What happened to the friendly girl Where it didn't matter where one was white and another was black? What happened to the friendship? Could you let a little thing like Skin color change the hue of friendship Or can I let go of a bitterness that Threatens to keep me from Reaching out and becoming another true friend When you visited, you didn't visit at all You needed someone to stay with So you wouldn't have a high hotel bill Yeah I was busy, but not too busy to Spend time with a long lost friend Who was to busy to even notice Her old friend's distress You had more important things Than an old friend who Hoped for you when you were hopeless Comment! What if you were born black and your so called friends who hate blacks would hate you? Why are you so racist? Why do you think you are better than everyone because you are white? Realistically speaking you ain't white, but more a lighter shade like creme, beige, or otherwise known as caucasian. And black people ain't really black but just different shades of a darker color. You are a stupid nigger if you think Obama should be assassinated because he's black. Yeah, I said the N word. Yeah, I am white. What are you gonna do about it? Sometime I feel as if I am surrounded by racist idiots who want to chose stupidity over reality. If you hate people because of the color of one's skin, then, in my humble opinion, you need to be bombed by Al-Quaida. It would serve you right--they hate us because we are Americans. It all boils down to hate. I hate how stupid and ignorant our country has become. It sickens me. Ugh. And for you folks who think I am "fucking irritating" then don't read my blog. Use your common sense. If you don't like it here, then don't come here. Comment! (5) | Recommend! Something New Wednesday. 10.29.08 11:54 pm My Birthday! The staff were very courteous and promised that they would be placed on each floor and near the computers. If you read the flyer and have come here to learn about Art4TheHomeless, you are at the right spot. Art4TheHomeless Mission The mission of Art4TheHomeless is to use the arts to promote homeless awareness in America. Simply put,Art4TH features artists and through their art, promotes homeless help organizations, shelters, web organizations; anyone or anything that pertains to homeless Americans and in the process, promoting the artists whose art we use. Art4TH supports the arts and wants to use the arts to help as many Americans who are homeless and needs help as we can. Art4TheHomeless Vision Art4TheHomeless sees an America where artists come together to help those in need, each other, and emotionally raise each other up. Art is our way of expressing who we are and Art4TheHomeless expresses art and homelessness: how we can help each other out. What Art4TheHomeless currently does to help Art4TheHomeless currently has four sites: It started with a weblog. Art4TH blog is a revenue sharing blogmeaning that the blog owner gets paid to blog. Art4TH is currently at around $13.00 and the goal is to reach $100 to be divided up between ten homeless shelters in America. http://art4thehomeless.nutang.com The Art4TH online art gallery is where you can purchase unique artwork, prints, apparel, cards, postage, etc., and all profits go to help various homeless shelters and organizations. http://www.zazzle.com/johnnacrider* The Art4TH Webzine started in August 2008 and features visual artists, writers, and musicians from around the world who want to get their art out there and who also support Art4TH. The Zines front page features homeless help organizations and shelters or anyone who helps the homeless. http://art4thehomelesszine.tripod.com The Homeless Network was created in October 2008 and this unique website caters to homeless Americans. You could be in Alaska and homeless, there is help for you. Some of the things a homeless American can find on this site is information pertaining to their rights, getting copies of their birth certificate, Social Security cards, Naturalization and Immigration information, online homeless shelter directories by state and also by province in some areas of Canada, online food bank directories, online medical care institutes who cater to homeless Americans, information about homeless teens and runaways, mental health and substance abuse programs, online organizations that help the homeless such as MySpace pages, YouTube videos and the National Coalition for the Homeless. The Homeless Network was just added to the US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations Homeless Resource Center (http://samhsa.gov ) a homeless assistance link. http://thehomelessnetwork.tripod.com Comment! I found an online Government Grant application where you can receive personal grants. However, you have to have phone and email. If you don't have phone, (which most homeless people do not) there is a way around that. I found a website that will direct free voice mail to email--totally free. If you are homeless and don't have access to the Internet; go to your public library and sign up for the computer lab. It's totally free here in Atlanta and Shreveport, LA. It's a service to every American to have access online through the library computer system. I have both links and info to the grant and phone services here: http://thehomelessnetwork. tripod. com/id1. html Comment! (2) | Recommend! Homeless Resource Center Sunday. 11.9.08 6:03 pm I signed up for that grant I was talking about and we will see if I actually get it. I hope I do because if I can get it, then so can anyone else who really needs that money. I applied for $1000, but the limit is around $5000 I think. Anyway, The Homeless Resource Center is a website dedicated to servicing Homeless Americans with resources--you can do research for shelter food, and other things. The site even has a community forum. I got an email from them and would like to share what they told me here: Meet Mr. Larry Katie Volk interviews "Mr. Larry" about how he works to provide hope for those he serves. http://getrevealed.bm23.com/public/?q=ulink&fn=Link&ssid=9815&id=7g8lirh1eqnh2syz1h4j4sfsnkf4g&id2=4wrwv2hrqyy43qggvwbuddu0u0m3l I Believe Recovery is Possible An assessment tool for organizations to help determine the degree to which their services are "trauma-informed." http://homeless.samhsa.gov/Resource/View.aspx?id=33390&utm_source=GetRevealed+Mail&utm_medium=email&utm_term=I+Believe+Recovery+is+Possible&utm_content=Crider.Johnna%40gmail.com&utm_campaign=HRC+%233 Invisible to the Visible This document contains tips for homeless service providers and their organizations to work more effectively with people who have problems with remembering, thinking, or understanding due to mental illness, substance use, head injury, fetal alcohol exposure, or other causes. http://homeless.samhsa.gov/Resource/View.aspx?id=33389&utm_source=GetRevealed+Mail&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Invisible+to+Visible&utm_content=Crider.Johnna%40gmail.com&utm_campaign=HRC+%233 JUST COPY AND PASTE THE LINKS INTO YOUR BROWSER if you want to see the sites.
