| I don't think this is going to work. Sunday. 8.17.08 12:39 am sorry Comment! (3) | Recommend! Goodbye Friday. 8.15.08 6:20 pm 3:20pm Friday, August 15 2008 Less than 40 mintues left in my time here with Jeppesen. I'm actually sad to go. I've spent over 3000 hours here. Mike got everyone in ITP pizza for lunch and I said a little something to the group. It was such a different place when I started over 2 years ago. So many people came and went. Now I'm one of them. People will forget me. quickly. easily. New people have already taken my place. Assumed my duties. Occupied my cube. Most people have already left and started their weekend. Funny how things (life) moves on without you. Especially when you thought you meant so much. Held such importance. I suppose that even the brightest of stars must fade into the dark . . . or explode. I hold on to the past so tightly. Comment! (1) | Recommend! Deep Breath Friday. 8.1.08 4:28 pm Comment! (2) | Recommend! Hello August Friday. 8.1.08 11:43 am Comment! (0) | Recommend! LOLCats, craigslist and engrish Thursday. 7.31.08 5:51 pm These are a few of my favorite things. At least while I'm stuck up here. "Here" being the receptionist desk at my terribly dull company. You would think that pilots would be these interesting and exciting mavericks with stories up the wazoo and the charisma of greek sex gods. They aren't. They are old midwesterners with white hair and dark tans - George Hamilton look alikes. Why did I volunteered my precious summer days to cover the front desk while our dear receptionist is recovering from foot surgery? Why would I do such a thing? Well this simple equation explains a lot: More Hours = More Money = Less Debt At least I was able to finially finished my research report on photovoltaic systems and have found that like most environmentaly friendly practices, they just aren't worth the flippin' trouble. I decided to check out the company's employee library. I was surprised to find a little hardcover entitled "Tales from the Bed". Excited about the naughtiness that was to come from reading erotica while answering the phones in my best sultry voice, "Good Afternoon, How can I help you?" - I plucked the book from the shelf. Upon closer inspectation I read the subtitle: "on living, dying and having it all". Well, summer was feeling a bit too lighthearted. Comment! (2) | Recommend! Earth Class Mail Friday. 5.9.08 6:04 pm Your Postal Mail Online - You'll manage your postal mail as easily as your email! How it works: First you pick a "Remote Address". When you recieve mail a scanned image of the front of the still sealed envelop is instantly sent to you online. You decide what you want thrown out and what you want "opened". You can also opt to have sensitive mail shredded, junk mail recycled and archives stored at Earth Class Mail's facility. They advertise themselves as great for travelers who can't have a single address for mail to be delivered. I don't personally think this is useless. You can already pay most bills online and handle other business over the phone. Also they advertise themselves as "green" but there isn't anyless waste - its just being delivered somewhere else for someone else to deal with! Also how much do you pay some one to scan and sort your mail? It doesn't stop the US postal Service from losing mail either! Maybe I could see the viability i this kind of service if I was a travler that is away from home for months at a time. But then again - whereever I am - I don't want to deal with mail. http://www.earthclassmail.com/ Comment! (1) | Recommend! | Categories: Technology [t] |
